Affordable Lake Arrowhead area cabin that sleeps 8 comfortably! Conveniently located between Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead! Peaceful and quiet, enjoy your coffee or wine sitting on the deck looking out at the forest and hearing the birds sing!
Imagine waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the mountain air, and fresh coffee enjoyed on the back deck where you bask amongst the towering pines and cedars sprawling out in the forest in front of you.
Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fully equipped cabin in Twin Peaks, just 4 miles from Lake Arrowhead, will make you feel right at home. Entering from our private driveway you will find yourself in the open plan living room and kitchen area. A long breakfast bar, dining table and large kitchen accomodate home cooking quite nicely! The living room features a flat screen TV with cable and a DVD player and plenty of seating and a wood burning fireplace. Down the hall you will find the upstairs master bedroom, with a queen bed and tranquil forest views. Across the hall is the Bunk Room, with two sets of bunk beds for up to 4 kids or adults. Both bedrooms have their own TVs with DVD players (not cable) if you want to get away from the group or have the kids watch a movie in their own room. The Bunk Room also has a game table where you can play checkers, chess, backgammon or cards (poker chips included!). The upstairs level also has a full bathroom with shower (no tub).
Downstairs you will find a full bathroom, with tub, and the downstairs master with a queen bed, forest views and a private deck. Also downstairs is the laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer.
The cabin has wireless internet, local phone service, lots of DVDs (G through R) lots of board games, cards, books and even some coloring books for the little ones. Our remote controlled heating system will ensure that even if you choose a winter weekend getaway, the cabin will be warm and toasty upon your arrival.
Guests can visit the public Lake Gregory for swimming and sunning, access the many hiking trails in the area (there is a list of hiking trails in the welcome book at the cabin), visit Lake Arrowhead Village for excellent shopping, summer concerts and farmer's market (fridays), just 10 minutes away, or quickly access the local ski resorts, all within a 30 minute drive!
Interaction with Guests
Because we have a key pad entry, you never have to worry about arriving before or after a meeting time, you can take your time and arrive any time after our agreed upon check in time. I will usually call the day you check in or the next morning, to make sure everything is working properly and see if you have any questions. If there are any problems, my mom, housekeeper and handyman are all nearby and can come over in a heartbeat, but unless you need us, we will let you be to enjoy your mountain stay!
Our neighbors are very nice and quiet, we share a main driveway with them but have our own private parking space. Mountain folks are most often friendly and willing to give a hand or directions when needed! Antlers Grill is a fabulous restaurant located right at Hwy 189 where you turn on to Rose Lane. Next door to Antlers is Mountain High Market, a small convenience store, both are walkable from the cabin on a nice night.
Be prepared in the winter that if there is snow on the ground they often require 4WD OR chains, sometimes both. Our cabin is on a county maintained road so it will get plowed. Our driveway is very steep and should not be used when it is snowing or icy, but parking is available along the road.
Other Things to Note
We have games, DVDs, a book library and snow saucers and a snow shovel available for your use while you are here! We also have travel sized toiletries in case you forgot something, and stock toilet paper and paper towels sufficient for a weekend stay. If you are staying longer or have a larger group, you will need to bring or buy some.
You must take your trash with you when you go as we do not have trash service, including any pet waste. We will provide you with a list of Clean Mountain drop off sites that you can dispose of your trash before driving home. There is absolutely no smoking in the house and if you smoke outside you MUST extinguish your cigarettes in water and then in the trash, due to the high risk of forest fires. Please bring your own firewood. If you use our firewood, please replace it, we prefer you bring your own. The cleaning fee of $75 covers basic cleaning, any excess trash or mess will be deducted from the $200 refundable security deposit. Any damaged items will be deducted from the Security Deposit. We do allow pets with prior notice and a $25 fee, pets are not permitted on any furniture. Do not allow pets outside unleashed, as there are coyotes in the area. Please bring a dog bed for them and a crate if you need to leave them in the cabin when you are not there. Please clean up any pet waste and dispose of it off the premises. If there are any pet stains on any carpets an additional fee will be deducted from your security deposit for cleaning.
This cabin was perfect, and the drive up is breathtaking. Views from every turn. Cabin was very accommodating and comfortable. Everything was also pretty close if you forgot something in town. Our host was very pleasant and willing to work with me on re scheduling my stay. I would go back to this cabin and stay next time I am in this area. Thanks again for allowing us to share your home.
Thank you, we liked the cabin, worth it's price. But the lower floor was too cold and overall needs some improvements.
Our family loved staying at Kristen's cabin. It was very cozy and we had so much fun playing board games. There is a great selection of games and DVDs there! We also went snow tubing at Snow Drift snow tubing park which was not too far from where we stayed and the kids had a blast!
This cabin was beyond expectations. Fully-stocked kitchen and perfect location that had everything we needed when we were short of any type of material. The cabin had a lot of things to do ranging from board games, cable, movies and tv series on DVD. There was never a dull moment in the cabin. I would definitely come back to this location.
Everything was exactly as pictured. I was so happy to arrive and everything be clean!! I definitely recommend this cabin for it's location and coziness.
The only thing to be wary of is the steepness of the driveway (depending on your car). I chose to park up at the top and didn't have a problem, but it was a bit difficult for my mother to walk down the hill.
We did not meet the host, however the place was just as described. Communication prior to our arrival was good. The place is an awesome cabin and worth the $$ and the drive we had to make daily into Ontario. The neighborhood streets are congested but what you would expect for such a beautiful wooded setting. This place is beautiful. Highly recommended. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
I work in commercial real estate as an investor and consultant to earn a living. I am a dog lover and I am passionate about dog rescue. I help run a dog rescue organization here in Manhattan Beach which is my permanent residence. I love to travel and try to avoid staying in hotels if at all possible! I enjoy staying in private homes or B&Bs so I fell in love with the airbnb concept! I've traveled solo in South America and have also been fortunate enough to travel in Europe and Central America, so I know how much a nice, welcoming, clean place to stay can add to the experience of the trip! I spend a lot of time in the mountains at my cabin as my mom lives in Lake Arrowhead full time, and I love being amongst the pine trees and enjoy the snow, and skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer.
