Our historic corner property comfortably accommodates 6-12 people. It includes 4 private bedrooms w/4 full size beds, bunk beds, and sofa bed. We offer bikes to tour this magnificent city in a neighborhood that represents the melting pot of NOLA!!!
In the early 1900s, this corner building was used as a neighborhood corner store with the living quarters located on the second floor. The second floor has been renovated with 4 private bedrooms each with a full size bed. The apartment has one full bathroom. In addition, there is a set of bunk beds in the common area, as well as a new futon sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave and stove/oven to accommodate our guests. There is also a yard with a picnic table and green space that you are welcomed to utilize. Eat some crawfish, drink some beer, or simply get some sun!
Guests have access to the entire top apartment and the fenced yard. Our bicycles are available upon request during the reservation period so please let us know ahead of time if you are intending to use them.
Interaction with Guests
Together with my fiance, I live directly behind this house, but don't worry we will stay completely out of your hair! ;) However, if you have any questions or concerns we are more than happy to assist in anyway that we can!
If you are one of those folks who wants to experience authentic New Orleans and its rich diversity, then this just may be the location for you. This house is located in the heart of NOLA and the neighborhood's diversity shows it! If you're lucky you could hear one of the neighborhood kids playing the trumpet or trombone. We also provide free bikes so that you can bike through the entire city! You can bike to practically any location worth visiting including City Park (events include Voodoo Fest and Hogs for the Cause), the Fairgrounds (Jazz Fest and horse racing), Bayou St. John (Bayou Boogaloo), and OF COURSE the French Quarter and downtown.
We provide free bikes for you to get around! This property is very much centrally located and rather easy to get anywhere. It is also conveniently located between the streetcar line that runs on Canal Street and bus line 39 that runs on Tulane Avenue that both take you directly downtown. A cab station is down the road, therefore its fairly easy to order one. If you plan to use the streetcar or bus, you may want to purchase a Jazzy Pass ((website hidden)).
Other Things to Note
My fiance and I wanted to invest in a property to call home. We wanted a fixer-upper in an area that was up and coming and that had potential. Considering that we are drawn to the urban and historic core of New Orleans we wanted to be centrally located within the city. The area and house itself needed to have that New Orleans charm. Fast forward 5 years later and we are the proud owners of 4 additional properties in the neighborhood with this listing being one of them. Needless to say I love this neighborhood and its diversity which truly represents the melting pot that is NOLA.
Number one rule: Enjoy your stay! If you don't, I've failed. Aside from that please make sure that if you smoke you do so outdoors either on the balcony or yard area and please make sure to appropriately dispose of cigarette butts. You are more than welcomed to use the outdoors area but it is a residential area so please be mindful of your noise level especially in the evenings. Other than that have a blast!
We absolutely loved the location and the house as perfect to host a larger group and have space for people to hang out on balconies, at the kitchen table and in the living rooms. The house was very clean and a wonderful location. I would recommend this location to anyone going to New Orleans. Alexander makes it so easy to check in and out and with the lockpad system, a large group isn't constantly trying to coordinate key handoffs.
The place was great and the property was well kept. All bedding and dishes we needed were there and overall everything was clean. Access to the place with a large group was awesome because of the keypad entrance. Definitely a plus. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy but so long as one isn't walking alone at night it's pretty typical for NOLA.
I was a little disappointed by the bikes. Only 5 of them were in working condition and even then we had to use a little WD40 to get the seats down and tires aired up. Luckily exactly 5 of us had stayed back to bike so we weren't short, but for planning and time sake I wish we had a more accurate idea of the bike situation. Not the best area of town for biking. We rode ours down the Canal Streetcar lane into the French Quarter.
A really spacious house for the four of us. We used the bikes and had a great time touring around. Recommend the cycle to City Park. Alex was easy and prompt to communicate with and his wife is lovely. We walked to Chickie Wah Wah's to see music and used the cable cars and taxis for everything else. Would definitely stay again!
The house was great and a perfect size for our party. It was great to be able to use the key code vs trying to manage an actual key between 10 girls. Very easy walk to the trolley which we did everyday. My only concern was that there were two situations where someone was down in the basement bathroom getting ready and there were workers/people there saying they worked for Alex. They were all very nice but I would've appreciated a heads up bc it was a little alarming when you aren't expecting anyone.
Immediately after booking I received an email with all of the check in/out information. The place was clean and just as described. The location was further from French Quarter than we would have liked, which is why we took advantage of the bikes that Alex provided. I spoke to other groups that were staying in NOLA that weekend and they rented bikes, so it was a nice perk already having it included.
This house was great for a big group of girls on a bachelorette party! The house was exactly as listed, had plenty of beds and we definitely used the second shower downstairs!
The house is nice and clean but you don't feel as if you will break or ruin anything.
The neighborhood is OK. A lot of our group is from Philly and other big city's so we are use the the diversity however if you are not use to that, the area may seem a bit sketchy to you. The neighbors are loud at night but harmless!
The French Quarter is 2.5 miles away so be good about pre ordering cabs (ours each night took about 30 minutes) but they are super cheap! The rail was great for our day trips- low cost and fun!
Overall great time was had! Thanks Alexander :)
Our group had the best trip! Alex was great and the space was more than we were expecting. Plenty of room and it was great that there were extra linens, pillows, and dishes for us to use while we were there. We enjoyed hanging out on the balcony and taking the bikes out for brunch before the evening festivities (beer pong) began in the downstairs/garage area (there was even bathroom down there!) This space was perfect for our spring break in NOLA! The street car was a short walk away and was all we needed to everywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again!

I was born and raised in New Orleans, lived in Memphis for four years while I attended Rhodes College and played NCAA soccer there. Upon graduation I moved to Washington DC and in 2009 moved back to New Orleans! I haven't looked back since!
