Escape to a private and secluded 160 acre permaculture homestead, just steps from the majestic Alvord Desert. Our unique tiny cabin offers a one of a kind off grid experience with breathtaking views of Steens Mountain.

The space
This thoughtfully designed tiny cabin features two queen beds. One queen is nestled in a cozy loft, accessible by ladder perfect for an adventurous spirit! You'll be surrounded by custom woodworking, including a stunning knotty pine ceiling and a beautiful juniper wood counter. For your comfort, a propane heater is available for cooler seasons and a ceiling fan for warmer days. Fully off the grid.

Our one of a kind tiny cabin is designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living, offering you unparalleled privacy and a front row seat to the desert's breathtaking magic. Step outside and directly onto the Alvord Playa, where vast public lands stretch endlessly under a canopy of brilliant stars. This is your chance to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature's embrace.

Whether you're exploring the playa, rockhounding for hidden treasures, or soaking in nearby desert hot springs, every moment here is an adventure. After a day of exploration, return to your private oasis to rest, rejuvenate, and rediscover your connection to the wild. The quiet magic of the desert, abundant wildlife, and the sheer vastness of the landscape will leave you feeling completely restored.

Guest access
Driving through the Farm: To ensure the safety of our livestock and dogs, please notify your host when you are driving up the road, to the farm. Exiting through the playa requires no notification.

Playa Access: The Alvord Playa is just a short walk away. You will have private gate access (available for guests only. It is shared with all guests on the property) to drive on the Alvord Desert. Please use caution when driving on the playa as the mud is impassable.

Other things to note
Inside, you'll find a comfortable ground level queen sized bed. A queen bed in a cozy loft, requires a climb to the loft, by ladder. Bedding is provided, but many guests enjoy bringing extra blankets for added comfort. There is a dining space and chairs for enjoying your meals or morning coffee. One hammock is included for ultimate relaxation. Basic cooking supplies are available, though most visitors prefer to bring their own. An outdoor propane BBQ is available for use.

Pack Layers: Evenings in the desert are cool, while days are usually warm, so packing layers is essential.

Stay Hydrated & Protected: The dry desert air makes you thirsty, so bring lots of water. Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen!

Pet Friendly: Your furry friends are welcome! We just ask that they stay off the beds. A $40 cleaning fee will be charged if signs of pets are found on the bedding.

Dog Etiquette: Please ensure dogs remain on leash when behind the fence and always clean up after your dog.
