Great time with good company in a quiet part of the world. Accommodation was roomy and comfortable. Paul and Amanda were great hosts and made the stay relaxing.
My hosts made me feel most welcome, and shared many stories of life on the Queensland coast!
We had an awesome night staying with Paul. Only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The room is nice but what really makes the stay is the hospitality of the hosts. Ask them about dinner and opportunities to see the area. Hang out in the evening on a charming patio in the back yard. Highly recommend staying here.
Paul and Amanda are very welcoming. When we arrived,we saw a kangaroo in their garden eating grass. We had a great delighted talk with them. Amanda cook delicious sea food for us.We are very glad to live in their house.
We arrived in Tuan and met a group of lovely kangaroos just outside the house - they came by every day. Our host, Paul, met us warm and welcoming, and showed us around on the ground level with 2 spacey bedrooms, kitchenette and shower and the outside sitting area at the back of the house where we later had our dinners that the hosts prepared for us. The river was just across the road and there was a jetty where we went fishing in the early morning. The hosts provided us with fishing rod and bait. Big fish was jumping in the river but we were not successful in catching any this time. Fascinating to watch how the river area changed during high and low tide – the soldier crabs were incredible :-) We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood with lots of birds for two days although thunder, lightning and rain entertained us during the dinners. We enjoyed good food and fun conversations with both Amanda and Paul – good storytellers :-)
Cleverly converted apartment under the house with lots of outdoor entertaining areas. Low ceilings. Amanda and Paul great hosts. If you get an invite to go out on Paul's fishing vessel...take it we saw a Dugong playing close by.
Tin Can Bay close by for feeding wild dolphins.
Generous space, comfy beds, good shower, but what a lovely location. This is rural Coastal Queensland. A friendly waterside community within easy reach of amazing Fraser Island. The icing on the cake, is the outstanding hospitality and local knowledge offered by Paul and Amanda, plus the chance of a boat trip and fishing. It all seems to go well beyond the online offer. Sorry to leave new friends after just 3 very good days. John and Joy Rossington
