The space
**The Grounds — Wild by Design:**
Enchanted Bluff is a luxury tiny home dropped into the middle of the wild — and we keep it that way on purpose. Expect tall native grasses, wildflower meadows, and open forest across the 7 acres, not mowed lawns or landscaped gardens. We’re regenerating this land back into the natural meadows the valley is known for, letting native species grow in and bring the bees, butterflies, and birdsong with them. That taller summer growth is also what gives you privacy and the feeling of being fully immersed in nature. If you’re picturing a manicured backyard, this isn’t it — and for the right guest, that’s the whole magic.
**Access:**
The property is easily accessible year-round by any vehicle—no high-clearance or 4x4 required. To ensure a fully paved route, please avoid the route from galena bay through Trout Lake. If you plan to explore forest service roads, a high-clearance or 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Google Maps may suggest a ferry route; all local ferries are free, frequent, and require no booking—just drive on. For more info check BC Inland Ferries website. If you’d like to avoid ferries, let us know and we can suggest alternate routes.
Master Bedroom:
A full-height queen bedroom just steps from the spa bathroom, featuring a luxury memory foam mattress from Silk and Snow. Enjoy tranquil forest and bluff views on one side, and a stunning view of Meadow Mountain on the other—perfect for stargazing through the windows. There’s ample closet shelf space for your clothes and a hanger for summer dresses.
Loft Bedroom 1:
Cozy queen loft with a memory foam mattress, accessed by stairs—ideal for waking up to birdsong. Includes both shelf and hanger space for smaller items. Please note: Access may be difficult for guests with mobility issues; the master bedroom is best suited for those requiring easier access.
Loft Bedroom 2:
A twin loft, accessed by ladder, perfect for adventurous guests or older children (8+ years). Features a plush Purple luxury twin mattress and views of the bluffs and forest. Please note: Access may be difficult for guests with mobility issues; the master bedroom is best suited for those requiring easier access.
Bathroom:
Spa-inspired with heated floors, a flush toilet, a luxurious tub/shower combo, and a washer/dryer combo for ultimate comfort.
Kitchen:
Fully equipped for gourmet meals, with a dual induction stovetop, gas oven, full-size dishwasher, and all essential appliances (microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker) plus a selection of spices.
Living Area:
Relax with a smart TV, streaming apps, and A/C throughout. The dedicated workspace in the mudroom offers inspiring views and heated floors.
Outdoor Living:
Step outside to three spacious decks with dining furniture, firetable, BBQ, and outdoor shower. Enjoy the 18’ round above-ground pool (seasonal as it’s not heated), electric cedar hot tub, and electric cedar barrel sauna for up to six. The firepit area is perfect for evenings under the stars, with unlimited firewood provided at no additional cost.
The Property:
Set on 7 private acres, Enchanted Bluff House is surrounded by dramatic, quartz and lichen rich rock bluffs that create a unique microclimate—often several degrees warmer than the surrounding area, extending your pool season and inviting you to linger outdoors. The bluffs radiate warmth and energy, contributing to the magical feel of the land.
Wildlife is abundant—deer, turkey, ermines, birds, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are frequent visitors, while rare sightings have also included mule deer, elk, coyotes, wolves, and bears. Our regeneration is ongoing: we’re restoring the land using permaculture principles and planting only native species to support local pollinators and wildlife. You’ll notice a hugelkultur berm leading to the sauna, designed to regenerate soil and attract bees, butterflies, and more. Each guest stay directly supports our vision to transform this land into a thriving oasis, showcasing what’s possible when humans give back to nature. In the future, we hope to host unique events and special celebrations, sharing the beauty and splendor of this wilderness with even more people (please inquire).
At night, the magic continues—clear skies and nearly no light pollution reveal breathtaking views of the Milky Way, distant galaxies, and, on special nights, the aurora borealis. It’s a perfect place to witness celestial events and reconnect with the wonder of the night sky.
* Please Note: Pool is seasonal and dependent upon local temperatures- pool closure may occur during early or mid October- dependent upon when the area is likely to receive its first frost.
The Surrounding Area:
Located in Meadow Creek, BC, Enchanted Bluff House is your gateway to the wild Kootenays. You’re just minutes from Meadow Mountain Rec Site, Duncan Lake’s pristine beaches and recreation areas, Kootenay Lake Provincial Park, and world-class hiking at Monica Meadows and Jumbo Pass. Discover local attractions like the Meadow Creek spawning channel, the historic marble quarry, and the Meadow Creek Museum. On summer Sundays, enjoy the local farmers market right next to the community center.
Despite the seclusion, you’re only 3 minutes from the Meadow Creek Store, the Meadow Creek Bar & Grill, and the Lardeau Valley Community Center, which features a gym and bowling alley (please contact us if you’d like access). The charming village of Kaslo is just 30 minutes away—dubbed “Canada’s Little Switzerland” by Narcity—offering a microbrewery, grocery stores, restaurants, trails, beaches, shopping, and cozy cafes. Ainsworth Hot Springs, with its famous hot springs cave and nearby Cody Caves Provincial Park for guided spelunking tours, is only 45 minutes away. The historic ghost town of Sandon is just an hour away, and Nelson, BC—famous for having more restaurants per capita than New York City and offering thrilling ziplining adventures—is only 1.5 hours away.
For winter sports enthusiasts, Meadow Creek is the gateway to some of the world’s best backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. Enjoy endless outdoor adventures—world-class hiking, boating, caving, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, and wildlife watching—all in a peaceful, remote mountain setting.
Located right off the Hot Springs Route, you’ll have easy access to many other natural and man-made hot springs within a 1.5-hour drive toward Nakusp.
For more information and ideas, we provide an interactive digital guidebook upon booking, filled with local attractions and our favorite secret spots.
Guest access
Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire 7-acre property, including the Enchanted Bluff House, all outdoor amenities, the bluffs, and surrounding forest. We encourage you to explore and immerse yourselves in nature!
For your safety, please be aware that there are steep drops and natural hazards on the property, so explore at your own risk. While our property offers vast privacy, boundaries with neighboring properties are not always clearly marked. If you encounter a neighbouring house or structure, you have likely ventured off our land; please respect their privacy and return to our property.
Other things to note
Due to the unique nature of the property and some amenities and natural features (such as rock bluffs) that may present safety hazards—especially for younger children—we require all guests to sign a rental agreement for liability reasons. The agreement will be provided after booking and can be easily signed electronically. If you’d like to review a copy before booking, just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide it. Hosts do not assume responsibility or liability for failing to adhere to safety recommendations.
Our grounds are intentionally kept natural and wild — tall grasses and wildflower meadows rather than manicured lawns — as part of our ongoing effort to regenerate the land to its native meadow state. Guests who want to be fully surrounded by nature love it; if you’re expecting a trimmed-garden setting, this may not be the right property for you.
* Please Note: Pool is seasonal and dependent upon local temperatures- pool closure may occur during early or mid October- dependent upon when the area is likely to receive its first frost.
