We are open to showing you around if you like, if our schedule allows, or just providing you with inforamtion and letting you explore on your own.
I had a wonderful time at Emily and Jason's place! The room was quiet and peaceful, and having a private bathroom was well worth it. The house was immaculate! It was nicely furnished with artsy photos and cool furniture, which Emily says is Jason's handiwork.
Communication was excellent via text messages and phone calls.
The pets were quiet and pleasant, and non-obtrusive, and I got to get my kitty cuddle fix with Jason the orange kitty!
There is closer space with a rod and hangers to hang stuff up.
There is a table, chair and lamp set up if you need to do some work, and a small bowl with toiletries and a map of Boise, which was a nice touch.
Downtown is about a mile and a half away, which took me about 40 min walking at a leisurely pace, stopping to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The neighborhood is residential, quiet and safe. I used Uber to get around.
Overall, wonderful experience!
Staying with Emily and Jason was very easy and a pleasant experience! She was extremely responsive to all of my communications and helpful when I was in Boise! The house and room and bathroom were clean and the back patio was a huge bonus for eating, stretching, etc. Their animals are friendly. They are also just a quick 5 min to downtown and the green belt. Pretty much ideal!
Emily and Jason were awesome hosts! They were personable, available, and kept an immaculate home. Our beds were way comfortable and the private shower downstairs was really convenient. We would come and go at varied hours but they were always accommodating. Would recommend to stay with or even grab a drink if the opportunity comes along--great people!
Emily and Jason are terrific hosts! They are friendly & welcoming, and their home is neat, comfortable and clean. The pets are very sweet, too! Don't hesitate to stay here if you go to Boise!
Hey Fellow Travelers! I had such a nice time staying with Emily and Jason for a week. Here's the thing: Not only are they very welcoming hosts, but they are genuinely nice and friendly people, and, like other reviewers have said, I feel that I now have good friends to visit whenever I may come back to Boise. :) Their house is in a nice neighborhood, and their cat and doggie are both incredibly sweet and friendly. The futon bed actually provided good nights of rest -- I slept well! The bedroom on the lower floor was very comfortable and quiet, and having a private bathroom (with a strong shower!) on the same floor was a real plus when getting ready to explore the town or head to work. (Speaking of which, it's a very nice short and scenic walk down the hill and into the campus and downtown, all the way to the Idaho State Capitol building.) The kitchen access was great for some quick food prep. And when I came home from work one evening, while Emily and Jason were entertaining family and neighbors in their comfortable and cool living room (which is also a great place to recharge during the day), I was grateful for the invitation to relax, chat and get to know everyone -- one of those magic, unplanned evenings that make us all feel connected when traveling and hosting. At the end of my (too short!) stay, the ride to the airport was much appreciated, as was every other gesture of kindness and hospitality. If you are going to Boise and need a place to stay, I highly recommend these hosts and their shared accommodations! You won't regret booking this place "on the Bench" in Boise.... it feels like home for all the best reasons. :)
About the Host, Emily
I have worked in educaiton and non profit for most of my life. I enjoy feeling good about my work but also value balance in my life. I have lots of hobbies, including camping, attending live music events, riding my bike around Boise and spending time with my dogs, cat and husband. Jason, my husband, is a photographer and very creative. He enjoys building things out of pallets, being outdoors and taking photographs.
We are a very laid back group and love to meet new people. We keep a busy schedule during the week and like to enjoy our weekends as much as possible. We love living in Boise, as we were both orignially from Arizona. We moved to be closer to family and to escape the heat. We have been in Boise for 3 years and LOVE IT!
