Interaction with Guests
Ienjoy meeting my guests and conversing with them when schedules allow. I am very willing to share my knowledge of the area and my favorite spots. Most guests really appreciate that.
My neighborhood is quiet and there are basic amenities within five minutes like restaurants, Post Office, gas station, great thrift and antique stores.
There is no public transit so a car is a must.
No Smoking please. Dogs are welcome if well behaved. My dog puts up a fuss when guests come but a few sniffs and she will be a friend.
Carol was lovely. She made me feel right at home. The room was so comfortable with its own fridge and bathroom. Carol gave me useful tips on what to see and where to go and even waited up for me when I got side tracked and took an unexpected long drive up to the Grand Canyon. I recommend staying here, she is just lovely!
We loved our stay with Carol! Her home was clean and comfortable and our room and bathroom felt like our own little (website hidden) and wireless access were great. Staying here, we were close to Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome, as well as Montezuma’s Well and Castle and the VBARV Ranch. Carol was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We visited about five places she recommended to see or do and loved each experience! Carol’s home was a perfect place to stay for us!
Had a great time at Carol's place. She made us feel at home and it was a very relaxing time. Alize the dog was wonderful; she enjoyed all the attention. Carol also gave us some information about local hiking and historic places. Lake Montezuma is a very friendly community; Crickets family restaurant is the best breakfast!!
Was a great get away for out, just outside Sedona. Created a much more affordable stay this way. Host was mindful, accommodating, and friendly. The room was very spacious, had our own bathroom, and basically our own wing of the house. Great place to hideout and have some peace. Would stay again for sure!
Carol and her dog Alize were perfect hosts. Carol made us feel at home and even anticipated our needs. She was very warm and kind. Everything exceeded our expectations. We were just extremely happy with our stay in Lake Montezuma. Thanks again.
Things were great...until the end of my stay. Upon arrival, Carol was helpful and willing to answer any questions. She even offered to make breakfast and coffee and write up daily plans for me to go an see certain attractions. I was in Arizona to get away from Los Angeles and relax. On my last morning, Carol knocked on my door at 9am, woke me up and said, "Aris I have things to do...as soon as you leave." Half asleep I entered the hallway and asked her what check-out time was listed on her page. She said that she had not listed one. I replied that it was unethical to wake someone up (who has a 7 hour drive ahead of them!) to tell them they should leave so that you can "do things". She said that her house was not a typical lodging establishment. I told her that even so, I am a PAYING guest and normal check-out hours are between 11am-12pm. Besides I hadn't gone to bed until the middle of the night and I had to drive to another state. She did not offer any apology; she stubbornly insisted that she had things to do. I advised that she list a 9am checkout time on her page. Half-asleep, I packed, got dressed and left. I am sitting at a Starbucks trying to wake-up and get some caffeine in my system so that I don't endanger myself or others on the solo drive back to California. I have never had a host display such childish and inconsiderate behavior.
I'm an experienced host. I am also a nature lover and a volunteer ranger at Montezuma National Monument.
I live in the Verde River Valley. I am very knowledgeable about both its human and natural history .
Northern Arizona is a great place to live because there are always new things to explore and learn. You have only to step out your door to enjoy the never ending drama in the sky which never fails to thrill and amaze.
