This is a beautifully renovated colonial house that captured the romance of this sultry seaside city. The Yellow room has it's own private bath, AC, TV and eclectic furnishing. Also comes with complimentary breakfast and wifi.
We want to share the magic of Cartagena with you. After all, it's a city where Garcia Marquez has a house, and used as inspiration for some of his novels. To come here, is to experience the seaside lifestyle, the pace of life, and the warmth of Cartagena people. They love to sit around and tell stories; so we have many places in the house for you to linger and just relax in this magical city. This is where fairytales and reality blends.
- Complimentary breakfast with choice of eggs or typical Cartagena breakfast

We have a staff on the premise at all time to make sure that any needs of the house is addressed. Our goal is to introduce to you what life is like in this magical city and we hope that you will make Veranera your home away from home.
We are located in San Diego, named after the local San Diego Convent, now known as the Beaux Arts School Building. In front of it is the Convent of the Nuns of the Order of Saint Clare, now the Hotel Santa Clara.
You will find many great restaurants, bars just a couple blocks away.
The walled-in city is wonderful to explore on foot. You will find many places very easy to get to. Taxi is also extremely convenient in the City, usually cost about 5000 pesos ($3 USD) anywhere within the city.
This beautiful bed and breakfast had a full and accommodating friendly staff. It was walking distance to all the sites in the historical district. Clean, comfortable and romantic. Breakfast was great and they also helped us arrange travel and tours.
The listing doesn't say it, but it is on Calle Quedo- taxi drivers don't necessarily know the streets by number.
We really appreciate your comments and you are correct, the hotel is located on Calle Quero, which is also known by most locals as Calle 37. I'm happy to hear that you truly enjoyed your stay and hope that you'll keep us in mind for your next visit to Cartagena.
Positive: great location, nice firm mattress, good Aircon, friendly staff
Negative: room without a window, you have to ring when you get back and I got feeling that I am waking up other guests.
Small boutique hotel (four rooms?) which is a beautiful oasis of calm in El Centro. Nice A/C + ceiling fan. Great location; on a quiet street with lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. The yellow room is very quiet too. Nice roof for working out on (or just relaxing). Didn't try the pool. Modern, comfortable bathroom with lots of hot water. Didn't meet Glenda but her Spanish-speaking staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Room and hotel were very clean. The wifi was solid. The bed was a bit hard but that's standard. We felt that it was extremely good value. We were a bit surprised by having to pay for bottled water at the end of our visit, we would have appreciated if that was made clearer to us when we checked-in.
Great room in a hotel boutique with an excellent location. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Very nice room in the center of the old city. Everything is in walking distance.
We really enjoyed it staying at Glendas House.
We arrived rather late in the evening due to a delayed flight and were welcomed with open arms by the staff. We were shown to our room and then provided with a refreshing drink.
The house is charming with some great design touches that honors its history. The staff was friendly and helpful. We traveled with our 1 year old son and were provided with a crib in our room and a highchair during breakfast.
Location-wise its in a great place. A large supermarket is 2 blocks away and the old center is fun to wander around and get lost in. Lots of great places to eat nearby. We highly recommend staying here.
Everything was awesome. The room is beautiful and very clean. They have always good options for breakfast and the people that works on the house do your best everyday. It is near to important place in the city and you can find lots of restaurants nearby. In fact, the city is very small and secure, so you can walk to every place on foot all the time, and come back home without any problem. The taxis are always trying to take "extra money" from you if you are paying in dollar, but the people from the house helped me on this case when they noticed this irregular comportment. In the end, it was a great experience at a great city.
