Deluxe 2 Bedroom Downtown

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Southwest Grant Street, Portland, OR 97201, United States

Ground floor unit in updated 1917 building 2 blocks from light rail which you can take straight from the airport. If you are visiting OHSU or PSU both are right here. Enjoy the arts, all within walking distance. Includes 1 parking spot. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

The Space

VALUE: Upon checking in our very first guest one of the first things she said is "You should charge more" and "We feel like we won the bnb lottery". :-) (Thank you Karen)

QUIET: Although the map shows a close proximity to the freeway it is a non-issue unless you are expecting country quiet in the city. The freeway is a good 30 ft below ground (note: in a review they state you must cross a busy street to get downtown. While this is somewhat true as seen in the photo. This is done at any of the crosswalks with walk signals which should not be a challenge for anyone. I did not want you to think you are playing frogger or darting through traffic :-)). It is similar to any city hotel. In addition we used Quietrock drywall during construction to abate any airborne noise between units. Base and heavy footsteps can still be heard as in any old building.

REST: There are two bedrooms joined by french doors. Each has a queen bed. There is a walk in closet in the main.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire condo.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the house next door and are typically available if you have any questions or concerns. However we will not be intruding on your time in our beautiful city. We want your stay to be everything you imagined.

The Neighborhood

You name it and it is within walking distance or a quick jump on the MAX. The walk score is an 86, although I give it a 100 :-) A quick fact: Our city blocks are only 200 ft which is only half the size of a normal city block. I believe only one other city is constructed this way.

Keller Auditorium
Portland Art Museum
Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

Jeld-wen Field (Timbers & Thorns) walk or MAX

Dunniway Market

There are too many to list. We have become known for our foodie culture here and starting from our condo you easily can access many of the wonderful places to eat in the downtown neighborhoods.

Farmers Market:
You will love our market on Saturdays: Look up the Saturday Farmers Market. Live music, wonderful fresh foods.

Getting around

MAX line is a stones throw (900 ft, can you throw that far?) from the front door. Ideal for arrival from the airport or departure. The Street Car is in the Park Blocks which is also only a few (7 or 8) blocks away. Both have great websites to plan your day trips.

  • We had the most wonderful stay in this apartment during our week in Portland! David was a wonderful host and the apartment felt like our home away from home. Spotless, comfy and stylish and perfectly located. You will not regret this choice...I highly recommend this lovely apartment.

  • We spent three nights in David & Kim's fabulous condo. We found that it was a nice central location to return to after a long day of exploring Portland! The condo itself is top of the line and stocked with all you need and more. We loved it and would definitely stay there again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! Conveniently located to downtown Portland, a short walk away. Easy access to freeway as well. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is available. The condo was very well stocked, clean and beautifully furnished. If we are ever in Portland again we will most definitely stay here. David was super quick in his responses and answered any and all questions one might have. I highly recommend this little gem. Thanks!

  • This 2 Bedroom Downtown Condo in Portland, OR very much suited our needs. We were in Portland for six days to see younger family members including a two-year-old and five-year-old. The easy layout of living room and kitchen was perfect for our informal family gatherings. The location, although at first slightly off-putting, because of the highway, proved to be very convenient. We even walked to Whole Foods and Powell's Book Store a couple of times. And we took the streetcar. The bed was comfortable. And the kitchen, although slightly under-equipped for our needs, was beautiful and easy to work in. We would have liked some regular level tables and chairs for eating. The place was stocked with snacks. And Mr. Markham, our host, was most accessible and easy to work with. If a handicap bar and mat to prevent slipping is installed in the tub, we would stay there again in warmer months.

  • We had a great time at David's apartment. Right when we got out of the car, David was ready with our key! Talk about perfect timing. The place was very clean and comfortable. There were even snacks for us and we left some apples/oranges to share. :)

  • Rent this space for 2 days, location makes almost anything in downtown Portland walkable. Very clean, had all the amenities and more we could have imagined. Modern appliances, wireless internet, cable TV, dishwasher and washing machine with dryer. Parking spot at back was also very convenient. Grabbed the keys from the owner who lives next door, very easy and gave us all the privacy we could have asked for. Overall, awesome place.

  • What a treat it was to stay in this wonderful place. It was spacious, spotless and quiet as can be. We slept like babies. Three of us traveled together and the condo was more than big enough. The best feature is how easy it is to walk to the light rail and how close it is to central downtown. We will absolutely be back and would stay here again.
If you are an elderly or older person, the only thing to consider, safety wise, is the shower is an actual old fashioned tub so you'd need to be careful stepping in and out.

  • This property was fantastic! I had my two teenage daughters and we were doing college tours with my oldest. This was a great location. Very cozy, quiet and comfortable beds. David was a great host. My only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time at the condo.

  • Came to Portland for a Valentine's/Birthday weekend. The condo was perfect for our group! Beautifully decorated and super close to downtown. Will definitely try to stay here the next time we visit.

  • We really enjoyed staying at the condo! It was roomy, clean, comfortable, had a great kitchen, and was very quiet for being so close to downtown. David was great at answering any questions we had and it was nice that he was next door in case we ever needed him. This is a great place to stay in Portland!

We are a family of three. Kimberly is a retired dancer and works as a Pilates Instructor and Davids works in the Veterinary world. Our son Chase is 3 and he keeps us entertained. We live in the home next door to our condo (our three year old needed a yard) so we are available if needed but are happy to respect your space and want your trip to Portland to be the one you were expecting. However if you do need suggestions, we are also happy to oblige.
