The Space

VALUE: Upon checking in our very first guest one of the first things she said is "You should charge more" and "We feel like we won the bnb lottery". :-) (Thank you Karen)

QUIET: Although the map shows a close proximity to the freeway it is a non-issue unless you are expecting country quiet in the city. The freeway is a good 30 ft below ground (note: in a review they state you must cross a busy street to get downtown. While this is somewhat true as seen in the photo. This is done at any of the crosswalks with walk signals which should not be a challenge for anyone. I did not want you to think you are playing frogger or darting through traffic :-)). It is similar to any city hotel. In addition we used Quietrock drywall during construction to abate any airborne noise between units. Base and heavy footsteps can still be heard as in any old building.

REST: There are two bedrooms joined by french doors. Each has a queen bed. There is a walk in closet in the main.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire condo.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the house next door and are typically available if you have any questions or concerns. However we will not be intruding on your time in our beautiful city. We want your stay to be everything you imagined.

The Neighborhood

You name it and it is within walking distance or a quick jump on the MAX. The walk score is an 86, although I give it a 100 :-) A quick fact: Our city blocks are only 200 ft which is only half the size of a normal city block. I believe only one other city is constructed this way.

Keller Auditorium
Portland Art Museum
Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
Performing Arts Center

Jeld-wen Field (Timbers & Thorns) walk or MAX
Rose Garden (Blazers & Winterhawks) MAX

Dunniway Market

There are too many to list. We have become known for our foodie culture here and starting from our condo you easily can access many of the wonderful places to eat in the downtown neighborhoods.

Farmers Market:
You will love our market on Saturdays: Look up the Saturday Farmers Market. Live music, wonderful fresh foods.

Getting around

MAX line is a stones throw (900 ft, can you throw that far?) from the front door. Ideal for arrival from the airport or departure. The Street Car is in the Park Blocks which is also only a few (7 or 8) blocks away. Both have great websites to plan your day trips.

  • A very nice place situated in a good location. Very clean, well equipped and above all, the communication with the owner was incredible. Fast responses, thorough information and many suggestions on the best way to enjoy Portland. This was our first ever use of airbnb and we were extremely pleased with our choice. I highly recommend if heading to Portland that you check this place out.

  • The host was very easy to deal with and made the entire process easy from start to finish. The place was wonderful and exactly as shown. Very nice decor, beautifully renovated kitchen and nice touches all around the apartment. Sleeps 2 couples comfortably and close to great restaurants and shops. Highly recommend to anyone!

  • The perfect spot to stay during your trip to Portland! We (four adults and a toddler) stayed here for a family member's graduation, and we can't say enough good things about the place, the location, the hosts, and the experience. We found the price to be reasonable and really appreciated the nice extras (the parking space in the back as well as an additional parking pass if needed, the snacks and fresh fruit on arrival, and two sets of keys) - thanks to David and Kim for this wonderful stay!

  • The suite was perfect for our stay in Portland. It was an amazing home base to explore the city. David was great to deal with and everything went really smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

  • This is a great apartment for a family! There are 2 bedrooms, so little ones can go to bed and the adults can stay up without any disturbance. The family who owns the property is extremely friendly and helpful (and just next door) - they made sure we had what we needed and gave suggestions on what to do in town. the apt was very, very clean (that's super important to me), and had all the conveniences we needed - full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. Easy access to the MAX line and many bus lines!

  • My friend and I spent two nights at this wonderful apartment. The place is lovely - spick and span. The location is good and there's a dedicated off-street parking place. The kitchen is great, but with all the restaurants in Portland, who wants to cook. The beds are very comfortable and the TUB, the TUB. I could almost lay down in it and I am 5'9". The goodie basket was great, too. The street side bedroom has some street noise at night, since its near a busy intersection, but Portland quiets down at night, so its not bad and I didn't even notice it the second night. We both highly recommend this place and would happily stay again!

  • David's place is amazing! Super clean, amazing location and comes with everything you could possibly need... including some tasty snacks. I stayed here for 2 nights with three friends and we all slept comfortably, with space to spare. Although I only spoke to David on the phone, he was very polite, helpful and ensured we enjoyed our stay. His wife and son are absolutely lovely and I am so glad we had the chance to meet them personally! Overall, great place to stay!

We are a family of three. Kimberly is a retired dancer and works as a Pilates Instructor and Davids works in the Veterinary world. Our son Chase is 3 and he keeps us entertained. We live in the home next door to our condo (our three year old needed a yard) so we are available if needed but are happy to respect your space and want your trip to Portland to be the one you were expecting. However if you do need suggestions, we are also happy to oblige.
