About this listing
Ground floor unit in updated 1917 building 2 blocks from light rail which you can take straight from the airport. If you are visiting OHSU or PSU both are right here. Enjoy the arts, all within walking distance. Includes 1 parking spot. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
VALUE: Upon checking in our very first guest one of the first things she said is "You should charge more" and "We feel like we won the bnb lottery". :-) (Thank you Karen)
QUIET: Although the map shows a close proximity to the freeway it is a non-issue unless you are expecting country quiet in the city. The freeway is a good 30 ft below ground (note: in a review they state you must cross a busy street to get downtown. While this is somewhat true as seen in the photo. This is done at any of the crosswalks with walk signals which should not be a challenge for anyone. I did not want you to think you are playing frogger or darting through traffic :-)). It is similar to any city hotel. In addition we used Quietrock drywall during construction to abate any airborne noise between units. Base and heavy footsteps can still be heard as in any old building.
REST: There are two bedrooms joined by french doors. Each has a queen bed. There is a walk in closet in the main.
Guests have access to the entire condo.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the house next door and are typically available if you have any questions or concerns. However we will not be intruding on your time in our beautiful city. We want your stay to be everything you imagined.
You name it and it is within walking distance or a quick jump on the MAX. The walk score is an 86, although I give it a 100 :-) A quick fact: Our city blocks are only 200 ft which is only half the size of a normal city block. I believe only one other city is constructed this way.
Portland Art Museum
Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
Performing Arts Center
Jeld-wen Field (Timbers & Thorns) walk or MAX
Rose Garden (Blazers & Winterhawks) MAX
There are too many to list. We have become known for our foodie culture here and starting from our condo you easily can access many of the wonderful places to eat in the downtown neighborhoods.
You will love our market on Saturdays: Look up the Saturday Farmers Market. Live music, wonderful fresh foods.
MAX line is a stones throw (900 ft, can you throw that far?) from the front door. Ideal for arrival from the airport or departure. The Street Car is in the Park Blocks which is also only a few (7 or 8) blocks away. Both have great websites to plan your day trips.

About the Host, David
We are a family of three. Kimberly is a retired dancer and works as a Pilates Instructor and Davids works in the Veterinary world. Our son Chase is 3 and he keeps us entertained. We live in the home next door to our condo (our three year old needed a yard) so we are available if needed but are happy to respect your space and want your trip to Portland to be the one you were expecting. However if you do need suggestions, we are also happy to oblige.
