Ground floor unit in updated 1917 building 2 blocks from light rail which you can take straight from the airport. If you are visiting OHSU or PSU both are right here. Enjoy the arts, all within walking distance. Includes 1 parking spot. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
VALUE: Upon checking in our very first guest one of the first things she said is "You should charge more" and "We feel like we won the bnb lottery". :-) (Thank you Karen)
QUIET: Although the map shows a close proximity to the freeway it is a non-issue unless you are expecting country quiet in the city. The freeway is a good 30 ft below ground (note: in a review they state you must cross a busy street to get downtown. While this is somewhat true as seen in the photo. This is done at any of the crosswalks with walk signals which should not be a challenge for anyone. I did not want you to think you are playing frogger or darting through traffic :-)). It is similar to any city hotel. In addition we used Quietrock drywall during construction to abate any airborne noise between units. Base and heavy footsteps can still be heard as in any old building.
REST: There are two bedrooms joined by french doors. Each has a queen bed. There is a walk in closet in the main.
Guests have access to the entire condo.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the house next door and are typically available if you have any questions or concerns. However we will not be intruding on your time in our beautiful city. We want your stay to be everything you imagined.
You name it and it is within walking distance or a quick jump on the MAX. The walk score is an 86, although I give it a 100 :-) A quick fact: Our city blocks are only 200 ft which is only half the size of a normal city block. I believe only one other city is constructed this way.
Portland Art Museum
Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
Performing Arts Center
Jeld-wen Field (Timbers & Thorns) walk or MAX
Rose Garden (Blazers & Winterhawks) MAX
There are too many to list. We have become known for our foodie culture here and starting from our condo you easily can access many of the wonderful places to eat in the downtown neighborhoods.
You will love our market on Saturdays: Look up the Saturday Farmers Market. Live music, wonderful fresh foods.
MAX line is a stones throw (900 ft, can you throw that far?) from the front door. Ideal for arrival from the airport or departure. The Street Car is in the Park Blocks which is also only a few (7 or 8) blocks away. Both have great websites to plan your day trips.

We truly enjoyed out stay at David's lovely 2 bedroom downtown condo. We spent 3 nights in Portland, and were thrilled to have such a warm and welcoming place to return to at the end of each day. This was our first trip to Portland so we were a bit directionally confused at first, but once we settled in we realized what a great location we had landed in. It is quite easy to walk downtown from the condo, and a quick stroll to the University grounds. The condo is spacious, well decorated and great for a group. My husband and I and our 15 year old twins appreciated the spaciousness, and having a kitchen and laundry at our use made for a great family holiday. We all want to return to Portland, and we highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone who wants to have a home away from home in Portland. We will be back!
This was the perfect Airbnb. No surprises, exactly what we expected and the hosts have gone above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need (i.e. hairdryer in the bathroom). It was especially perfect for us because we were traveling with our 1 year old and they kindly loaned a pack n play for him to sleep in and provided a high chair. We loved walking to the farmer's market (it's incredible!) on Saturday morning and were glad that we were made aware of it from the hosts.
Great family friendly central location. Had everything we needed and more. Will definitely stay again when we are in town
My family and I had an excellent stay at this apartment. The kitchen was set up well enough that basic cooking was possible. They had a pack-n-play and a chair for my daughter to eat in which are amenities that are great when traveling with a toddler. Everything was set up to make for a very nice, comfortable stay. The location was also excellent for accessing everything downtown. The intersection where the apartment is located is a bit busy but we never had any problems walking in the area and the street noise was minimal.
My wife and I had a great time in Portland, we've been several times, but this was our first experience using Airbnb and it definitely won't be our last. David's apartment is exactly as described and just as nice as the photos, we also we found a basket with some delicious treats/snacks upon our arrival which was very gracious. The apartment is in a great location within walking distance to everything downtown, and a great option to getting an expensive hotel downtown! We would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity arose.
Great experience, David's place was amazing and just what we were looking for. The condo was super clean, spacious, and had every amenity that you would need. We traveled with our two kids (2 and 5) and it fit all our needs. It is conveniently located close to downtown and is easily walkable and close to local transit. Amazing value. You would be crazy to not stay here. Thanks so much for such a wonderful experience.
Ideal stay at the doorstep of University & downtown! We were extremely pleased with this centrally-located, well-appointed 2-bdrm flat in downtown Portland. Instructions were clear and we felt very comfortable. Probably good to note that the two rooms are adjacent and separated only by a set of panel doors so not entirely soundproof. Not a problem for us but may be for others. We would love to return again in the future! Thanks so much!!
We are a family of three. Kimberly is a retired dancer and works as a Pilates Instructor and Davids works in the Veterinary world. Our son Chase is 3 and he keeps us entertained. We live in the home next door to our condo (our three year old needed a yard) so we are available if needed but are happy to respect your space and want your trip to Portland to be the one you were expecting. However if you do need suggestions, we are also happy to oblige.
