The floors are oak, the windows are triple-glazed, the house is well-insulated and very cosy. Interaction with Guests
I might not be present when you arrive but will arrange to have the keys available for you in a lockbox at the front door.
The neighbourhood is Dublin's 'embassy belt' and is peaceful yet central.
Within 10 minutes of the house I am in the large gardens and fields of the Victorian Herbert Park, or in the leafy walks of Merrion Square, or enjoying the stunning views of Dublin from the rooftop bar of the Marker Hotel. l can cross the road to take the Dodder River walk to the Grand Canal Dock and over to the River Liffey.
The Aviva Stadium is two minutes walk from the house, the RDS is six minutes walk, the Bord Gais/Grand Canal and LIR Theatres are six/seven minutes walk . The O2 is twenty minutes walk.
The village of Ballsbridge and the RDS is five minutes walk away and has numerous restaurants and pubs. Beggars Bush is four minutes in the opposite direction and again has award-winning restaurants, famous pubs and a supermarket open 24/7. The Grand Canal Dock is seven minutes walk away.
Public transport is on the doorstep - take the DART or the frequent double-decker buses. Taxis wait at the taxi rank at the end of the street.
You are within 5 minutes walk to the Grand Canal (Bord Gais Theatre) and you can walk to Merrion Square and the National Gallery in less than 10 minutes. Stephen's Green and Trinity College are less than 20 minutes walk.
Lansdowne DART station and a taxi rank are just two minutes walk away. There are frequent buses (the bus stops are two minutes walk away) going to and from the city centre.
The Aircoach service from Dublin airport to Greystones (route 702) passes right by Lansdowne Park. The service runs on an hourly basis so check with the Aircoach website to see if it suits your landing time and you can book online with them. The cost is €8 and €13 return. Get off at Ballsbridge Hotel, Pembroke Road and walk back in the direction from which the bus has come - back onto Northumberland Road. Lansdowne Park is the first turn into your right - so it is 2 minutes walk back from the bus stop. This is a 24-hour service, the coaches are very comfortable and have wi-fi.
A taxi from Dublin airport will cost about €25/€30
or you can take the Aircoach to (and from) the Burlington Hotel in Donnybrook (service every 15 minutes). A taxi from the Burlington will cost about €6 or is a 15 minute walk.
If you wish to book a taxi back to the airport - there is a taxi rank 2 minutes walk away by the Ballsbridge hotel on the junction of Lansdowne Road, Northumberland Road and Pembroke Road. You might also want to book with Ballsbridge Taxis who do a reasonable flat rate of €24 if you book with them.
pets are allowed, smoking can be done on the patio but not inside the house.
A lovely house in a great part of Dublin. Would definitely stay here again as had everything we needed for trip.
What a wonderful place to stay in. The location is excellent (near transport) and very quiet. The space is very bright, spacious and clean. We would love to stay here again. Katherine answered all questions quickly.
This is a little gem of a house in a quiet leafy lane and a great part of town, very convenient for buses and the DART trains. Katherine is a very welcoming host and the house offers everything you could want. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the kitchen and dining/sitting areas are elegant and thoughtfully laid out. It was the perfect base for our weekend break in Dublin.
The house is very nice, tidy and clean, as in the photos, everything is as described. Pity that we couldn't enjoy it more as we only stay there fro one night.
Katherine was responding to our messages very well. We were in Dublin only for 2 days and she made everything very easy for us regarding check in time. She was always available.
Indeed I would recommend her place :)
Katherine is a great host! The house was in good shape and clean! We were lucky with the weather and we could sit outside in the sun in Katherine's garden. The neighborhood was quiet and dart or bus station at 2 minutes walking distance. But the city centre is only a 20 minutes walk. We had a lovely stay!
