The region of Lower Manhattan bounded by the Bowery to the east and Broadway to the west, Houston Street to the north and Canal on its southern boundary, was many years ago a thriving manufacturing center. Its very difficult to imagine now but the area once produced everything from horse carriages to lingerie.
The legacy of these magnificent factory buildings is wonderful.
Many of them have been unsympathetically chopped into tiny spaces, squeezing as many apartments or offices into a floor as possible.
No so with this spectacular space, located in the heart of this now hip and thriving cosmopolitan neighborhood.
This 2200 square foot (220m sq) commercial live/work loft is, in a word, stunning. Used regularly as a location for film, tv and commercial photography the loft also serves as the perfect base from which to discover and explore New York City.
This substantial space measures over 2200 sq ft/204 sq m, comprising half of the top floor of a 6 story building with key-access elevator. There are 3 private double bedrooms and one bathroom.
The loft is decorated in a modern/vintage contemporary style designed for maximum comfort and entertaining space. The exceptionally large living area has two L-shaped sofas, flat screen tv and sound system. The dining table seats 12, adjacent to the massive open kitchen.
This loft has considerable texture. Visitors see, touch and feel the unmistakable spatial contrast with New York's compressed and chaotic dynamic outside and below. Discover your own inspiration in much the same way as Warhol, Basquiat, Pollack and Johns drew theirs.
Everything in the loft is functional as well as quirky. The artist personally converted the loft from its former use as a garment factory into a living space and studio. What the property lacks in upper east side polish, it abundantly makes up with space and character.
Loft comes equipped with cable, wireless internet linens, dishware, cookware, utensils, cutlery, basic kitchen appliances and cleaning products. Bed linens, bedding and fresh towels are provided. Loft will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and if anything is missing just let me know!

Amazing place, superb location.
Larry, the host, is a great guy - very responsive and helpful.
Cannot wait to get back and visit again!!
We stayed in Larry's painter's loft in March as a party of seven adults (who travelled to NY from the UK for five nights for a family birthday), and every one of us could not recommend it highly enough. We were hoping to be impressed after what we'd seen and read online but the scale of the place just can't be overstated.
Staying at the loft was integral to our trip. It is in a fantastic location, with a mix of both traditional and trendy restaurants and bars on the doorstep (so to keep two generations happy!), the Empire State Building in view and the subway less than five minutes walk.
This was a first Airbnb experience for all of us and Larry and his assistant Marlon could not have made the process simpler or more friendly and reassuring. Larry absolutely went the extra mile for us on everything from recommendations to allowing us a late checkout. Just brilliant.
Had a fantastic whirlwind 4 days in New York staying st Larry's amazing loft. Our arrival was smooth even though our flight was delayed Larry's assistant was a welcoming face. The apartment was enormous and had everything a traveller needed. Stepping out into Little Italy was always exciting especially at night and being surrounded by great Italian food was a bonus. The location was close to everything we wanted to see and we managed to walk everywhere. Already planning a return trip and will use Larry's as often as we can.
We stayed at Larry's place for nine days for our company kickoff. Despite being a bit late on the way there, we had no problems checking in and receiving our keys. The loft itself is great, very spacious, clean, filled all our needs. We used the large living room area as our office, since we had to work, and for that it was perfect. Given it's size it does get a bit cold (since it was january), but the heater in the large room took care of that.
The location is even better than the rest, close to all the small awesome places in SoHo and NoLiTa. East Village isn't far away. This is definitely a place we're staying at again. If you're looking for a good place for 3 or more people, and you want to spend your time in SoHo, this is your place.
Our family of 4 had a fantastic time staying in the "Painters Loft". We were there for the "Big Freeze" last week!! We were very lucky to have found such a great big apartment that was great for all our needs. 5 minutes walk to Subway, Restaurants downstairs, laundromat 2 minutes around the corner ( $7.00 a load washed and folded) K mart a couple of stops on the R" train to pickup kitchen needs, we were in heaven. We bought. $30 ride as much as you like weekly for the entire train system.
We will definitely stay again when we are next in New York.
Heating fantastic , we could have been back in Sydney.
The loft is a great experience. Right in the middle of Little Italy but so high up, away from the noise. Great amount of space. Unusual but effective heating from what looked like an old industrial fan heater. The kitchen was a little bit understocked in terms of cooking utensils - we wanted to make pasta (lots of Italians in our group!) but only one wee pot. Recommend for a large group.
Our stay at Larrys apartment was absolutely great!
My team and me (5 persons) enjoyed a very nice time there! Its exactly as it looks on the pictures, its HUGE! No other apartment in New York I've ever been to can keep up with the size of this painters loft.
Also the location is perfect! There are lots of great restaurants around the apartment, our favourite: The Italian Food Corner, which is only a few steps away. Within short walking distance you find tons of more nice shops and bars in Soho & Nolita!
The communication with Larry was great! He always answered my e-mails within a few minutes and provided all the information I needed.
Fortunately Larry was flexlible and kind enough to let us stay a few hours longer than planned, as our flight was late! Therfor and for the whole stay I'm really thankful and will definitely come back soon.
An manchen Elektro-Installationen würde jeder deutsche Elektriker verzweifeln. Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig.
This place is wonderful! A large group of us flew in to see the football game but the loft and its location quickly overshadowed going to the game. It's true about the size of this place; the common space is ridiculously spacey. The place has it's quirks but I loved each one of them. Subway was walking distance. Chinatown was right next door. Mother's Ruin for a sweet speakeasy! Make sure to have some fun with all the Italian restaurant hosts downstairs. They are good guys. Our trip was truly unforgettable and Larry and his loft played a huge part in it!
Two coworkers and I booked Larry's place while we were at a conference in New York. It's located around Little Italy and Chinatown and is a close taxi can away from Soho and the Meat Packing district. All boroughs have great places to visit and go to. We loved the space of the apartment and having three bedrooms in New York on addition to space is a huge luxury. The place was clean, comfortable and met our needs.
