The space

Private luxurious Colonial style home located two blocks from Langosta Beach and five minutes to the town of Tamarindo. It sleeps six, with one king-size, one queen and two single beds.

The home is built in the style of the homes found in Granada, Nicaragua, wherein the rooms are arranged around an interior courtyard with pool in the colonial style. This makes for a beautiful home, and at the same time very private and secure.

The home has three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and comes fully equipped with a dishwasher, wireless internet, air conditioning in all bedrooms, TV, stereo hookup for an iPod, microwave, propane stove, comfortable furniture, and a large garage.

The neighborhood is mostly residential and quiet, with a supermarket and nice restaurants within walking distance.

Most importantly the beach with a nice surf break is only 2 blocks away.

The home was beautiful and unique and just as described. The pool right in the middle of the home was awesome, the kids loved it. We spent more time in the pool than anywhere in the home. The design of the home with the living space being outdoors (centered around a pool) really gives you a genuine Costa Rican jungle experience. You can relax and listen to the sounds of the wildlife then retreat inside any of the comfortable suite-like bedrooms. Joost is an excellent host and was available anytime. The house was equipped with anything you could want. A special thanks for the use of your surfboard! Thanks again!

Loved having the pool in the middle of the house! The AC in the rooms worked amazingly! Liane was great at recommending great restaurants and events! :)

The rental looks pretty much like the pictures on the website, but I thought it looked even better. The ceilings were beautiful and I liked the wood floors downstairs in the bedrooms....The AC worked very well in all bedrooms and the wifi was good. The pool was clean and we enjoyed it first thing in the morning and often at night as well. The house is well-equipped with what the average person would need. We enjoyed watching the howler monkeys and iguanas in the trees next door. The location is convenient to town. We even rode the town bus one day when we got caught in town during an afternoon rain. It comes by the house often. We just asked "va a Hotel Suizo?" If the answer is yes, then it goes to the house! Everything was so green in June--I think the perfect time to visit. A little cooler, more green, less crowded and the rain rarely lasts long enough to interrupt activities. We found the Langosta Beach Club (a short walk) to be a favorite place to spend our days on the beach. They charge a small fee to use their space, but it's a nice space and everyone there is very friendly and welcoming. We took surfing lessons there, boogie boarded the beach there, dined there once and enjoyed the nice infinity pool which faces the beach. BTW the club has a free parking lot across the street from the entrance. I agree with others the best way to walk to town is via the beach. We had a car, so drove a little closer to town where parking was never a problem and then walked to the restaurants and such. There are many good restaurants there. Ocean was our favorite. We liked Waffle Monkey for breakfast as my granddaughter is GF and they made her GF waffles. We are the kind of family that rolls with whatever country we are (URL HIDDEN) when there were mosquitos in "our living" room we sprayed with the provided OFF--but that was probably our only real complaint about the "outdoor living of the courtyard." The mosquitos finally won out the last couple nights of our 7 nights and we retreated to our very comfortable bedrooms and watched the provided netflix! I would also recommend that there be hot water in the kitchen? We didn't cook much, so that was a bump in the road. Of the 3 showers only one really worked well, but there were just us 3 gals and we just shared that shower. We liked Joost a lot---the kind of guy one might want to just invite over for a party! Joost was quick to respond to our few questions and checked on us twice during our week's stay. We very much enjoyed our stay in Casa Colonial and made many fun memories both in the house and in Tamarindo. As I said we did have a rental car so enjoyed also checking out Playa Grande and Playa...

Response from Joost:
Thank you Nora! Sorry for the inconvenience with the showers, we just cleaned the showerheads which had some build up calcium . Btw, we have hot water in the kitchen as well , just turn the faucet to the right. Thanks again for choosing Casa Colonial de Langosta !

Joost's house was very nice, highly recommended for a group of 6. The pool in the courtyard was very relaxing and the house is well stocked. We even saw around 15 monkeys on the roof and trees which was quite a treat. Highly recommended if you are staying in Tamarindo or Langosta. In short, this house is "Joost perfect"!
