A real Dublin home. Small, pretty apartment in classic Georgian building on a tree-lined avenue. Great neighbourhood, 15 mins walk from city centre, 5 mins from Grand Canal, 20 mins Trinity or UCD. Shops, parks, bars and restaurants close by.
Beautiful cosy little apartment, available to sublet while resident travels, in embassy district, close to city centre (5 mins by bus or train). On a quiet leafy avenue, one of the best addresses in Dublin, in a classic Georgian building, behind electronic gates with private parking.
Inside there is a well-appointed bathroom with tub and shower, hall with small desk, double bedroom, light and airy living room with the high ceilings and tall sash windows of Georgian buildings, double sofa bed, romantic open fireplace and original marble mantelpiece, widescreen TV with digital box, DVD player and large DVD collection, tiny galley kitchen, washing machine and all mod cons.
The whole is maintained to a good standard and is professionally cleaned before your arrival. Non-smoking building; smoke alarms in every room. This is a lovely place to stay and will suit a single traveller or couple; same rate per night for one or two people staying here.
There is a double sofa bed in the living room, so two friends or a couple with child(ren) could also stay here but it would be a squeeze for more than two - I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.
My home is gay friendly.
Many travellers have been my guests and happy with their temporary home in Dublin. Served by all transport links with busy Baggot Street Bridge nearby. There you will find restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, supermarket. It is a short and pleasant walk (or a shorter bus ride) to Merrion Square with The National Gallery and The Dail (Parliament). A little further to St Stephen’s Green and the shopping area. See map to confirm just how central this is while being in a lovely residential area with the famous Herbert Park and Grand Canal on your doorstep. Hi-speed wireless broadband included.
There is an aircoach directly from the airport to about 4 mins walk from the building that runs 24 hours a day.
Character and charm, with comfort and a great location.
You have the keys and sole use of the apartment for your stay. You have wifi, tv with cable, a big DVD collection, a nice bathroom and cooking facilities.
I will meet you in person and show you around, when possible. If not, my housekeeper will meet you. In the winter, I will try to collect you from the aircoach and bring you to the apartment. I will always be available within 24 hours if there is an emergency and there always are back-up people nearby, eg the housekeeper and my sister, with spare keys.
It's walking distance into the centre so you're in the beating heart of the city - but it's on an elegant tree-lined avenue and very quiet. The apartment is in a converted Georgian building in an area famous for its architectural beauty. There are parks, shops, restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. You will find it easy to feel the vibrant atmosphere of Dublin and retreat to cosy quietness when that's right for you.
Couldn't be easier, the bus at the end of the road will have you in the city centre in 5 minutes, there is also easy access to the DART train and the LUAS tram. (website hidden) has a stand nearby.
But the easiest of all is to go to the top of the road, turn left and it's a straight line into the centre. You will be at the parliament, The National Gallery, Trinity College in 15 minutes.
University College Dublin is a 10-15 minutes bus ride in the other direction and The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) is a 5 minute walk away.

Mary Kate was a great host. The flat is in a lovely building on a quiet leafy road. Highly recommended. CC
Amazing host! Can't wait to return to Dublin :-)
Mary Kate was a really welcoming host. Her flat is absolutely gorgeous and in a really central but peaceful neighborhood. It was really cozy and never cold - as Ireland can get! - and she left us all sorts of fresh vegetables and food stuffs to get started. She was always available to answer our questions, and had lots of advice on travel in Ireland and cultural spaces.
This is a lovely little place in a beautiful neighborhood in Dublin. Mary-Kate is a great host, full of welcoming warmth. I hope to return. I really enjoyed my visit.
Mary Kat is a wonderful and welcoming host, and home is superb! Mary Kate went out of her way to check me in very late at night, and even stuck around to solve some minor wifi issue that arose. She's truly a wonderful host, and it's clear she does this with all her heart. Highly recommended!
Kate's place was the perfect fit for my dad and I to discover Dublin. It was nice to be outside the city center and be able to walk down the tree lined row of Georgian homes. The apartment is cute and is easily accessible from the airport. Kate was most helpful and was easy to get a hold of if we had any questions or concerns.
Mary Kate's flat is in a great location! We were able to walk (15 minutes or so) to downtown Dublin, and never needed to hire a cab. We had PERFECT weather while we were there (October 7th-14th); it only rained when we were inside the flat! We found Mary Kate's selection of guide books quite helpful. My only somewhat critical comment: For those particular about sleeping on a comfy bed, the mattress is not the best, but is probably sufficient for shorter stays. Overall, we enjoyed our time.
Perfect host, amazing flat and location. Mary Kate was very sweet and extremely helpful. Can't wait to stay again! A+++
Really good location, comfortable place for 3. The apartment is well equipped, Mary Kate gave a detailed indormation package. Good coffees, pubs and bars within 5min walk, temple bar is approximately 20 min walk. quiet and sweet area
