Cute, Cozy, & Cost Efficient

Apartment - Private room · Russell Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63110, United States

This private room in the Garden District of Tower Grove is a special find for guests passing through St. Louis. My quiet, clean apartment includes off-street parking for one car, wifi, and free laundry facilities. Pets are welcome, too, so stop by!

The Space

The bedroom in this one-room apartment is all yours. It is clean and private, with a raised queen-sized air mattress. The room also comes with a second air mattress.

Guest Access

Its a small apartment, so what spaces do we share?
We share the bathroom and kitchen area, so make yourself comfortable. Take a hot shower, cook yourself some supper using my pots and pans (you have to call it 'supper' when you're in Missouri!) or stash some leftovers in my fridge. If you want to do a load of laundry, there are free facilities in the basement.
Are animals allowed?
Definitely. Your pets are welcome and they can go anywhere they like, they don't have to be confined to the guest room.
FYI, I have a cat, but he is not allowed in the guest room, so please keep your bedroom door closed when you aren't at home.

Interaction with Guests

Hosting with ABB has been a very positive venture for me and I want to keep hosting for a long time, so your comfort and satisfaction is important. I can make some plans, hand you keys and say 'See ya later, or I can stick around and we can order some dinner--notice I didn't say 'cook some dinner', I'm a terrible cook. Traveling can be tiring, so just let me know what makes you comfortable.

The Neighborhood

I'm big on safety. It is difficult knowing where to stay in a strange city. You want a cost-efficient trip, but you also want to make sure that, however brief your stay, you feel safe in your surroundings. My apartment is within St. Louis city limits and close to many attractions, but still surrounded by a quiet neighborhood. My street is one-way and blocked off at the end, so there isn't a lot of random traffic. Guests park their cars behind the building and off the street, we have never had an issue.

What is nearby?
Tower Grove Park: 0.5 miles away
Missouri Botanical Garden: 2 miles away
Historic Soulard District: 2 miles away
Downtown St. Louis: 5 miles away
Busch Stadium: 5 miles away
Dogtown, Forest Park: 4 miles

Just want to grab a snack and catch some zzz's? There are some great 24-hour diners within a few minute's drive and, like any good St. Louisan, I can point you to the nearest White Castle or Imo's Pizza with ease.

Getting around

St. Louis is a mixed bag. If it helps, plan your trip using St. Louis' Metro Transit website. The Grand Metrolink station: 1.5 miles away, and you're less than five minutes from Highway 44, Highway 64/40, and Highway 55. Highway 70 is less than ten minutes away, and you're 18 miles from the airport.

  • Maria was an excellent host. She was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated her recommendation of the City Cafe. It was soooo gooooood. We also liked the used bookstore. Thank you for a wonderful place to be.

  • I was a noob to airbnb so a tad apprehensive but Maria and her place were awesome! Had to stay in St. Louis for a few days for an interview and she was super sweet and helpful. Pointed out cool places to go, helped me get to my interview, she's definitely willing to help a fella out. Had a great time with grey cat too.

  • Great host & great little spot! We only got to meet Maria briefly but we had an excellent time. Loved the artwork in this apartment, too.

  • It was a great stay! Very cool neighborhood, comfy bed and Maria was very helpful the whole stay.

  • Maria is a badass host who clearly puts a lot of thought into making the guest experience a great one. I noticed many little things that indicated the extent of Maria's thoughtfulness, all of which were appreciated. It was my very first airbnb experience, and all my expectations were exceeded, setting a perilously high bar for all future hosts. I wish I had stayed in St Louis longer!

Even if you don't get the pleasure of Maria's company, I have no doubt she will arrange everything expertly for your stay. In that case, you will be at the mercy of Gray Cat, a demon of the ancient world and a foe beyond any of you. Gray Cat will keep you company, but you may pay for it with an ounce of your flesh. Just tell Gray Cat that you are the wielder of the flame of Anor and you should be ok.

Also, I think it must be said that although "cozy" is a common euphemism for "small", I found the room to be quite spacious! Also, her artwork deserves its own exhibit at the STL art museum.

  • Maria's apartment is cute and clean and cheerful and wonderfully located. It was easy to come and go, and it's super close to both Tower Grove Park (nice place for a stroll) and the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

Maria was away while I stayed there, but communicating with her was very easy and everything went completely smoothly. I was in town to be with a family member who was in the hospital - not the most pleasant of reasons - and Maria was very kind and accommodating about the whole situation. I'm terribly sorry we didn't get to meet - I'm sure she is a lovely person.

  • Staying with Maria was great! She was a very welcoming host and I felt relaxed and ready to knock them dead at my graduate school interviews. The apartment is located in a beautiful neighborhood with easy access to public transportation. Between the St. Louis pizza and the extremely comfortable bed, I couldn't have asked for more during my stay!

  • Maria's place is amazing!! I would stay at her place again for sure. Although we didn't actually meet in person, she was really communicative and extremely friendly, her place is clean and beautiful and has everything you need. Thanks so much Maria!

Human Resources
Hi! I'm Maria, a 31 year old Human Resources Director from St. Louis, Missouri. I live in the city of St. Louis or, more specifically, Tower (website hidden) is known for its beautiful homes, eclectic culture, Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Botanical Garden. The area that I live in is known as the 'Garden District'. I host with Air BnB because I like providing travelers with an affordable and comfortable place to stay while they're in St. Louis, a welcome alternative from an overpriced and impersonal hotel room. Admittedly, its a small apartment without a lot of fancy extras, but I put sincere effort into providing a safe, clean, and quiet place for guests and my reviews reflect that. ABB hosting is a great way for me to put extra money towards my big dream of building my own tiny house. If you do an internet search for 'Tumbleweed Houses', I'm warning you, you're bound to fall in love just like I did. Other than daydreaming about cute cottages and cozy campers, I like playing sports, running, shooting at the range, and riding my bike.
