*Airbnb has notified all Washington DC hosts that, based on an agreement with DC city authorities, as of February 15th, 2015 Airbnb will be required to charge a lodging or hotel tax of 14.5% on the price of all short-term accommodation. This tax is over and above the prices quoted below and will be collected by Airbnb at the time of booking.
I regret the implementation of this additional tax but feel I should let you know that my rates have not changed in the last five years.
The daily price for one guest is $85.
The daily price for two guests is $97.
The daily price for three guests is $109.
If you are three guests, this bedroom is large enough to receive you. A child or additional adult can sleep on the comfortable, single Aerobed. The Aerobed, its bedding, additional towels and breakfast are gladly provided.
The weekly rate is a simple multiple of the daily rate.

CAR SHARE SERVICES:
In case you need to drive a car for just a few hours, DC has two good car-share services: Zip Car and Car2Go.
If you choose Car2Go, create a membership BEFORE you get here. They have to approve your license, and they often have promotions that waive the one-time fee. You do need a smartphone to find the cars. Parking is free in Car2Go parking spots anywhere in DC -- and you can end your car trip and walk away, leaving a Car2Go or Zip Car in many locations, some not far from the house.
Please internet-search either or both of them for details if you're interested in this option.
PARKING: If you'll be driving your own or a rental car, there are reasonably priced parking lots nearby.
IN WALKING DISTANCE: You really are in the center of everything here. Walk to the White House and the National Mall, and to many culture and entertainment venues; more than 25 cinema / movie screens, numerous museums, such as the Air and Space, the Natural History Museum, the American History Museum, the International Spy Museum, the National Gallery of Art, the Hirshhorn & Sculpture Garden, the Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of African Art, the Sackler and Freer, (most all Smithsonian Museums!), the National Building Museum, the Newseum, Penn Quarter & Chinatown, and lots and lots of restaurants - from Indian, Ethiopian, Chinese & Thai, Spanish, Italian, American & French, sushi, burgers, pizza & subs - to hip venues like Busboys & Poets, Churchkey, Bar Pilar, El Centro DF, Cafe Saint Ex, Marvin, the Gibson, and lots of fine dining too - it's all yours.
Numerous theatres, including the Ford, the Studio, the Source, the Shakespeare, the Woolly Mammoth, the National, and the Warner are all a stroll away. The Verizon Center for sports fans, bowling and bookstores, the National Geographic Society, and much more - all a walk away!
Please send an initial inquiry before booking.
We both want your stay to be extra successful, so let's fully communicate with each other at the outset.
Just to clarify -- this is not a rental of the entire apartment, but of one large bedroom and private bath, with reasonable use of the kitchen and dining area. The open-plan kitchen/dining area is available for breakfast (provided by host) and snacks or meals (provided by guests), though not for full, hot meals cooked on-site.
We expect to receive friendly and responsible guests, who treat the apartment as if it were their own and leave it in the condition they found it in. No loud music allowed after 11.00 PM. No parties, overnight guests, smoking or pets.
Type in the number of guests and your dates, and the site will calculate the cost of your entire stay. The weekly rate is seven times the daily rate.
When I'm out of town, you're welcome to make use of the larger, common area. When I'm in DC I'll be occupying the second bedroom/office and second bath, but the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the flat, and everyone enjoys his/her privacy.
I highly appreciate considerate guests and really want you to have a great visit to DC!
The room was very clean and had personality. Lots of good food and drink nearby and Serge supplies a wealth of info about the area.
I met Serge only briefly, but he seemed like a nice and interesting fellow. No hesitation in recommending.
We recently spent nine nights at Serge's flat. All was as described in the website and we thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. We did not meet Serge during that time which was too bad since we had a very positive feeling with writing back and forth beforehand.
The flat was upstairs in a two story building and we had the back area which probably made it quieter than the street side. We went upstairs and walked through a small sitting room with a sofa and then into the kitchen. We then went through a door and into the bedroom which had its own bathroom. The room was plenty large and had a chair, nice bed, TV, and loads of books and DVDs and CDs
in bookcases on one wall. There were windows to the backyard. The shower was good and all worked well. Since we were three Serge also provided an aerobed.
Breakfast was provided and consisted of two cereals, bread for making toast, margarine, peanut butter and jam, and soymilk. There was also coffee which we used only one time. We added some juice and yogurt and snacks from area shops. It was nice not having to search around for a place for breakfast.
Again, we were very happy we selected Serge's apartment and it all went well for us. It was only a short walk to the closest metro stop or the Circulator bus that went between Union Station and Georgetown so getting around was easy. Those who like to walk could walk all the way to the National Mall, White House, Capitol Bldg, and the many museums easily enough. There were stores and restaurants and coffee shops an easy walk away.
I have no criticism at all but perhaps someone who is more fastidious than we are would like a change of towels and sheets for a stay as lengthy as nine nights. If so let Serge know.
Serge, thanks much for providing us with a great place to stay. Again, sorry we missed meeting you.
Thank you for your positive review, Lowell. I was happy to have you and your family members as guests at the house. You're absolutely right, from now on I'll ask my housekeeper to change bed linens and towels for guests who stay longer than a week. Best wishes and come back anytime!
We didn't have a chance to meet Serge personaly, but everything was perfectly prepared,we knew how to get in the apartment, which rooms we can use etc. It was very nice that we could make some coffee and breakfast. It was our first experience with Airbnb and it was definitely positive,we would recommend to others.
Serge was great in his email correspondence, lots of good information about transit options, local restaurants and the neighborhood.
He was not in town, but had great instructions. Felt right at home when I arrived! I was in town for some Advocacy and this was a great spot! Thanks Serge! Maybe next year I will meet you!
It was a great experience in Serge's house, the environment is cozy and very clean, he provided many detailed guidelines which were very helpful. The house is in great location, I would definitely recommend this!
Everything was great, even though Serge was not there everything was very well organized. The apartment is located in a very nice neighborhood close to the metro station and everything else that is important for a stay in D.C.
We had a great time at the apartment and in the city!
Serge's apartment was perfectly located in central Washington, only a few blocks from the metro station. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay in Washington very enjoyable. We highly recommend your apartment Serge! Thanks for sharing with us.
