We will provide sightseeing information for our guests. With our full kitchen, if there are any additional cooking utensils or equipment that are needed, the guests have only to let us know; we will be happy to furnish them with whatever they need. Our neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in Memphis. It is sought after as a place of residence by people who have lived in Memphis all their lives and by newcomers as well. It is resplendent with big, old trees. Our street, Madison Avenue, has bike lanes as well. The Carriage House is only four blocks from an old growth forest which offers hiking and biking. In this park, (Overton Park) is the Memphis Zoo, and the Brooks Art Gallery and Memphis College of Art.
Depending on the time of year, free outdoor concerts are offered at the Levitt
Shell located in the park. Two block west is Overton Square which is two blocks of restaurants, music venues, three theatres, shops,a yoga studio, and a cinema.
We are four miles from Beale Street and Downtown Memphis and about eight miles from Graceland.
Public transit is available but not as convenient as we would like. We do have a bus schedule on hand if you want to use the buses. If you need taxi service, let us know and we will give you the name of a very dependable driver. Many restaurants and entertainment spots are within walking distance.

We really enjoyed our stay in the carriage house. Very convenient location, easy access, beautiful garden and patio, great wifi. Jim and Rebecca left some nice breakfast treats as well!
My daughters and I had a wonderful stay at the Carriage House for a girls trip to Memphis. It was the perfect amount of space, close to everything we wanted to do, and beautifully decorated with original art. Jim and Rebecca were welcoming and helpful. My youngest loved the fish pond the most. We would definitely stay here again!
A welcome basket of fruit and DELICIOUS banana bread. Cozy furnishings in a beautiful setting. We loved the outdoor space and the privacy the cottage afforded. A great getaway in a great location. A true home away from home.
Our 2nd time to stay here. We LOVE this place. Jim & Rebecca are also very friendly & helpful
My experience at Jim and Rebecca's Carriage House was perfect. Rebecca was there to greet me when I arrived, gave me a quick tour, answered all of my questions and made sure I had all the information I needed to enjoy my stay. Jim came out to say hello as I was getting my luggage. They allowed me use of their laundry facilities located in their personal basement and were ready and willing to open it to me at my convenience. The space is welcoming and clean with a nice private deck of the back. The bed is COMFORTABLE. And the internet was speedy and cable was a go. I cooked in the kitchen every day and they had everything I needed. The neighborhood was great with a street full of restaurants just a few blocks away. There was a park about a mile away I jogged at every morning. I parked on the street and felt very safe doing so. If I come back to Memphis I will definitely book this exact airbnb again. Jim and Rebecca are welcoming, approachable and accessible but also give you privacy, two thumbs up all the way around! And oh, my dogs LOVED the space too!
Carriage house is gorgeous & comfortable. Jim & Rebecca were very friendly & helpful. We plan to stay there again.
Jim and Rebecca run a top-notch operation. I am frequently in Memphis and this was my second stay. Easy place to get into, out of, super comfortable and clean and right in the middle of everything.

About the Host, Jim And Rebecca
We have enjoyed "retooling" this space which Rebecca used as a studio and making it into a comfortable and charming residence. We are both artists, so the house is filled with our original paintings and photography. We love traveling, especially to urban locations. Rebecca paints and I take pictures. However, we love staying at home, too. Our Midtown location is only two blocks from restaurants, theaters, cinema, very close to an old growth forest park We are surrounded by tree lined streets and older homes like ours.
