Our neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in Memphis. It is sought after as a place of residence by people who have lived in Memphis all their lives and by newcomers as well. It is resplendent with big, old trees. Our street, Madison Avenue, has bike lanes as well. The Carriage House is only four blocks from an old growth forest which offers hiking and biking. In this park, (Overton Park) is the Memphis Zoo, and the Brooks Art Gallery and Memphis College of Art.
Depending on the time of year, free outdoor concerts are offered at the Levitt
Shell located in the park. Two block west is Overton Square which is two blocks of restaurants, music venues, three theatres, shops,a yoga studio, and a cinema.
We are four miles from Beale Street and Downtown Memphis and about eight miles from Graceland.
Public transit is available but not as convenient as we would like. We do have a bus schedule on hand if you want to use the buses. If you need taxi service, let us know and we will give you the name of a very dependable driver. Many restaurants and entertainment spots are within walking distance.

Jim and Rebecca run a top-notch operation. I am frequently in Memphis and this was my second stay. Easy place to get into, out of, super comfortable and clean and right in the middle of everything.
We had a wonderful overnight stay at Jim and Rebecca's. Jim was very friendly and made our stay easy. We loved the fruit basket that was left! Our son also enjoyed their beautiful yard and fish. We would definitely consider staying here again if we made it back to Memphis!
An amazing place in a perfect location. Just blocks from great pubs, restaurants, and nightlife but in a quiet area that is very safe to walk
Around. Go to boscos for the black bean and goat cheese tamale!
Jim and Rebecca's carriage house is set back in a beautiful garden which will make you envious of their green thumbs. Our dogs instantly felt cozy and we were welcomed by a sparkling clean place with delicious treats!
Thanks so much for your kind words. I wish I could take even a little credit for the garden; Jim is the green thumb in the family (Rebecca writing this), but we all reap the rewards! So glad you chose to stay with us! Do come again.
Jim and Rebecca
Jim and Rebecca's carriage house was perfect--we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, tranquil spot to decompress mid-way through our cross-country move. It was pretty hot when we visited, so we didn't spend much time sitting out in the beautiful garden, but we admired from air conditioned comfort! Rebecca and Jim had left us a little basket in the kitchen with some bread and fruit, which was a thoughtful touch, and greatly appreciated when we were in need of snacks after a full day of sight-seeing. The street felt safe and quiet, and we weren't worried about leaving some of our belongings in our car overnight. The carriage house was a short drive to Graceland, and even closer to other tourist destinations and some really great restaurants. Home away from home--we'd love to stay again when we get back to Memphis!
The carriage house is perfect for a stay in Memphis. Jim and Rebecca are wonderful, generous hosts with a lot of local knowledge. The house is very private and close to Overton Square and the Levitt Shell. Uber gets you around town. We had a wonderful time with space to relax and would love to come back again!
My stay at Jim and Rebecca's was perfect, as always. Their backyard carriage house is my home away from in Memphis. It could not be more perfect.
The Carriage House couldn't have possibly been better for our one night stay in Memphis. Not only are Jim and Rebecca responsive and courteous, but they provided just the right amount of creature comforts for our stay. The garden is gorgeous and the location couldn't be better, just a few blocks from Overton Square where we enjoyed an exquisite meal at Restaurant Iris. I especially loved seeing Jim and Rebecca's art displayed on the walls. We will back when we come through Memphis!

About the Host, Jim And Rebecca
We have enjoyed "retooling" this space which Rebecca used as a studio and making it into a comfortable and charming residence. We are both artists, so the house is filled with our original paintings and photography. We love traveling, especially to urban locations. Rebecca paints and I take pictures. However, we love staying at home, too. Our Midtown location is only two blocks from restaurants, theaters, cinema, very close to an old growth forest park We are surrounded by tree lined streets and older homes like ours.
