About this listing

Nestled next to Shenandoah National Park and less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail, The Nest offers a true escape... breathtaking views along with an architecturally charming retreat. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

The space

With original parts that date back to the 1900's, The Nest provides rustic charm with modern amenities. The views are maximized in all of the living spaces, seeking to bring the outside in.

Guest access

You'll have access to our home and the surrounding 10 acres.

Interaction with guests

I'll contact you before your arrival with a Guest Book that includes some of our recommendations and also some House Rules. Happy to help, just let me know what we can do to make your stay more enjoyable!

Other things to note

Pets are accepted on a case-by-case basis. In general, one dog is fine.

We adored our stay at the Nest. It was the epitome of the perfect getaway in a breathtaking setting. My husband and I just could not get over how beautiful it is there. The house itself is a stunner. Julie's attention to detail in the house is impeccable. The views are unreal and you are able to enjoy them basically from every house. The Nest is super close to a variety of wineries which we enjoyed as well as the charming downtown Front Royal. If we could move in we would! Julie was so friendly and helpful and a wonderful host. She even gave us a scenic route to get to the Nest to really experience the Rappahanock Valley it was incredible. We absolutely hope we can come back!

We are native Texans, but transplanted to the DC area for work. We have 3 children and live on a small farm in beautiful Middleburg, VA.

In 2016, we purchased a small mountain retreat, called "The Nest". Close to Shenendoah National Park and within walking distance to the Appalachian Trail, The Nest offers tranquility and adventure to our family and now our guests via Airbnb.
