Nestled next to Shenandoah National Park and less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail, The Nest offers a true escape... breathtaking views along with an architecturally charming retreat. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

The space

With original parts that date back to the 1900's, The Nest provides rustic charm with modern amenities. The views are maximized in all of the living spaces, seeking to bring the outside in.

Guest access

You'll have access to our home and the surrounding 10 acres.

Interaction with guests

I'll contact you before your arrival with a Guest Book that includes some of our recommendations and also some House Rules. Happy to help, just let me know what we can do to make your stay more enjoyable!

The Nest is the PERFECT getaway for rest, relaxation, and scenery. The house is a perfect mix of rustic and modern. Upon check in, we saw the home was immaculately cleaned and stocked with supplies. When we woke up our first morning, we were blown away by the absolutely gorgeous views we had right from our bed. We had our morning coffee that was left for us and read through the book that Bob and Julie very carefully prepared for guests that included everything you need to know about the house and surrounding neighborhood! The nearby wineries made for a perfect Saturday for us! We ended our night by lighting the fire pit and watching the sun set. It was a perfect romantic getaway for my husband and I! Julie and Bob were VERY attentive and answered any questions we had right away, as well as helped us plan the perfect anniversary activities all weekend! I posted a few pictures of the gorgeous house and views at sunrise and already have people asking what magnificent place I was in! I'm spreading the word as much as I can because the home and hosts couldn't have been more perfect! We can't wait to stay again.

What a treat it was to stay at the nest! The views are amazing and the house was so luxurious! Our dog had a great time bopping around the yard and it was such a treat to wake up to a stunning sunrise!

We are native Texans, but transplanted to the DC area for work. We have 3 children and live on a small farm in beautiful Middleburg, VA.

In 2016, we purchased a small mountain retreat, called "The Nest". Close to Shenendoah National Park and within walking distance to the Appalachian Trail, The Nest offers tranquility and adventure to our family and now our guests via Airbnb.
