About this listing
This earthy, eclectic spot is your beachside home away from home. The available room fits 2 with kitchen, bathroom & laundry access. Easily accessible to the 10 freeway. Walking distance to 3rd St Promenade, the Santa Monica Pier, Main Street & more!
****NOTE: There is one mid-sized dog in the space. She is SUPER friendly, quiet and gets along with everyone.****
This isn't one of those cold, modern, minimalist condos by the beach (if that's your thing, you'll wanna check out another pad). It gets tons of light and there are eclectic details that make this space cozy and unique, a true beachside home away from home. There's also access to outdoor social spaces so you won't feel confined even on those days you choose not to venture out and about.
You will have full access to one private bedroom with 2-drawer storage as well as a ceiling fan, tons of light and fresh air from two windows above the queen-sized bed. There is a shared bathroom with shower that separates you from the other bedroom (which will be occupied by either me or my roommate depending on the timeframe). You will also have access to a coin-operated laundry and dryer which is shared with the rest of the building. There are only four total units and my neighbors are super friendly. There are modern, stainless steel appliances in the kitchen as well as a dishwasher (there is dish detergent under the kitchen sink) and microwave. Along with fridge space you will have some cupboard space as well. The living and dining areas are also shared and my roommate and I are super chill so don't be afraid to socialize :)
Interaction with Guests
Either myself or my roommate will be staying in the other bedroom during your stay and you can always reach me by phone with any questions or concerns.
You will also meet our fuzzy roommates: Harlow, THE friendliest doggie ever (she is mid-sized) and Stretch, THE cuddliest cat ever. We're pretty lucky :)
Everything is so walkable here! And if you don't feel like walking, rent a bike for the day. Santa Monica and Venice are super bike-friendly and the beach bike path is less than a 5 minute ride from my front door! You can go all the way down to Manhattan Beach or further! You can walk to all the great restaurants and bars, art galleries and parks on Main Street in 10 minutes and the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade are only a 15-20 minute walk away (everything's even closer by bike)! There's tons of bus stops for the Big Blue Bus which can get you just about anywhere and the scenic views are to die for. Though my building is right off Lincoln Blvd., my street is super quiet and you won't even know you're right off a main thoroughfare.
There's a bus stop at the corner of Lincoln and Bay and you can rent bikes for the day or by the hour at a stand just south of the Pier on Ocean Front Walk. Everything is so walkable or bike-able you won't even need a car!
Other Things to Note
In the fantastic Main Street Neighborhood of Santa Monica! Dog Friendly Apt!
Please remove your shoes at the front door. This is a non-smoking unit, but pets are allowed. Obviously we expect you to clean up after and pay for any damage caused directly by your pet, but we're more than happy to have furry guests as well :) When you leave, please leave everything where and how you originally found it with the keys laid out on my desk in the bedroom. Lock the bottom lock when you leave and it will lock the door automatically, no key needed.
Thanks Ally for sharing your lovely space with me! The location was very convenient to the beach and shopping areas, and the apartment was very clean and had everything I needed. It was quite hot when I stayed, so it was nice that the bedroom had a ceiling fan.
The apartment is only 10-15 minutes walk from the beach and shopping district, so it's very convenient. I'd recommend hiring a bike down at Santa Monica beach and riding to Malibu and Venice Beach. Thanks again, would definitely stay next time I come.
I had never stayed in Santa Monica before and this was an awesome experience. The apartment was clean and the room is nice and spacious. Renee is fantastic and so is her dog Harlowe. As others have written, it's only a 10 minute walk to the beach, and walking distance to a Starbucks and a drugstore.
I would definitely stay here again. My only advice to guests is to be aware of when they d the street sweeping. It's Monday on one side of the street, and Tuesday for the other side. I wasn't paying attention to the signs and got cited.
But other than that, it was a great vacation.
Amazing location so close to the beach and shopping areas of Santa Monica. Lovely house (and housemate Renee, who is awesome) and you're made to feel really welcome and cared for. We can't recommend Ally's home enough. It's our absolute go-to next time we visit.
Great apartment with a lovely dog to welcome you! Perfectly situated with about a 10 min walk to Santa Monica beach.
Very nice apartment and room, everything was clean and we received towels, schampoo, conditioner and soap from the host.
It has a great location with walking distance, approximately 10 minutes, to the beach, Santa Monica Pier and a lot of restaurants. The host was out of town during our stay but responded quickly on any questions we had. We did not have to pay for parking the car since Ally has a permit for street parking.
We will definitely recommend this place to others!
The listing is just as described and the photos are just as you'll find it, but with even more warmth and sunlight. Ally does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome with extra little touches and a full description of what is where when you arrive. Her roommate is perfect, too! She has a dog - who, as it turns out, enhanced the trip even more (I missed my own at home).
The neighborhood is very convenient - has some handy amenities - such as a Starbucks around the corner, as well as convenience stores. It was the perfect introduction to airbnb for me. I will be contacting Ally again when I come back to LA/Santa Monica! Thanks so much for the warm welcome and lovely stay.
This place is wonderful! In a great location with a nice chilled out atmosphere. Everything you need and extremely well kept and clean. Cannot fault! Thank you!
About the Host, Ally
Every moment has 300,000 possibilities. Nothing is permanent.
I'm a self-proclaimed vegan foodie. I love being outdoors and many of my favorite activities reflect that - hiking/backpacking, biking, camping, rock climbing/bouldering, reading outdoors, running by the beach, yoga, watching and making movies, horseback riding, etc. etc. etc.
I love meeting new people and would love to make more connections with people from all over the world so that I have more excuses to see more new places and ways of life. I'm pretty laid back, helpful and social both as a guest and host. The questions I ask are always genuine. I am fascinated by people and want to know who you are and how you work :)
