The Fujiyoshida Fire Festival is celebrated at Fuji Sengen shrine on August 26th, announcing the close of the climbing season of Mt. Fuji. It has been named one of the three most peculiar festivals to still be celebrated in Japan. A torch is kindled at every house-front in Fujiyoshida, and the city is then said to resemble a “sea of fire.” Soon after this festival, the summer climbing season of Mt. Fuji ends.

The trail to the top of Mt.Fuji opens from July 1st to September 15th however, hiking bus to the Mt.Fuji 5th station is running from mid April to early November. It takes about 50 minutes from the base to 5th station. The tickets are available at Fujisan station and Kawaguchiko station.

Mt.Kachi-Kachi Cable Car
Great view point of Mt.Fuji and Kawaguchiko lake, 10min by train or bus from our hostel. Open everyday, and the round trip tickets are 700 yen for adults and 350 yen for children. You can also hike up the mountain (60min hike up).

Fuji-Q-Highland is well known as one of the most exciting amusement parks in Japan. 5min by train or bus from Fujisan or Gekkoji station. One-day adult pass is 5,300 yen at the gate, but the discount tickets are available at our front desk for 5,100 yen.

Fujiyama Onsen (hot spring) offers the relaxation of traditional Japan. Guests can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji.

Ice Cave and Wind Cave-lava flowed to the forest after the eruption of Mt. Fuji and as it was cooling, the trees were burnt and that is how the caves were made. The inside of the caves are permanently 0 degrees. In old days, the locals kept silk warms utelizing the natural refredgiration. The groundwater of Fuji which oozed from the ceiling has made the pond of brilliant natural icicle and ice. 1 hour by train and bus from our hostel. 280 yen/person for each cave. Opening hours 8:00-16:00.
