We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Berlin, made perfect by our gracious and lovely host, Patricia. The apartment was charming and located in an ideal spot. Quiet yet close to transport, it was easy to get to everything. Even the trip to and from the airport was a breeze! I heartily recommend Patricia's apartment. It is cosy and there is plenty of room for you to relax in between exploring the city and a kitchen to prepare your own meals and breakfast before heading out each day. Thank you Patricia, Michael and Manuela.
We had a lovely stay at Patricia's apartment! The apartment was fresh, very quiet and well situated near Bergmanstrasse and U-bahn. The support and recommendations on what to eat and experience from Berlin's cultural life from Patricia were very helpful for us and made us feel welcomed and at home.
Before our visit we considered staying at a hotel, but we were very happy to choose this type of personalized accommodation which made us feel more like guests than customers. We really appreciated the conversation and coffee with Patricia and hope to return next time!
We warmly recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the lovely city of Berlin!
The stay at Sunny Penelope Garden has been great! Patricia was so nice and all the family is always ready to let you feel really confortable there!
Position is perfect, near by the underground and Bergmanstrasse.
We hope to come back really soon.
Lovely apartment and fabulous hosts. Patricia, from her kindness in having pasta and a bottle of wine ready for me when I arrived for my dinner, to helping me with train reservations, telling me the best gift shop, printing tickets, directing me to a shoe discount outlet (!) and being just the most friendly and helpful host. She even gave me a shirt of her husbands to keep the sun off when I went on long bike rides! Let's see others match that! The apartment is large, sunny, great cross breeze and very quiet. I can't imagine staying anyplace else and feel so fortunate to have found this amazing place and hosts on Airbnb.
Our stay at Patricia's apartment was great, although it ended on a somewhat unfortunate note.
The apartment itself was lovely - spacious, clean and modern. Every space is large (the bedroom, kitchen, living space and bathroom) and there is plenty of light on either side of the accommodation.
Patricia's instructions were very helpful - her tips for eating and shopping were well used, and the area itself is a perfect base to explore Berlin.
As for the aforementioned "unfortunate note," we were saddened to receive a rather gruff email after our departure which I felt was overly aggressive. Based on Patricia's previous reviews, I think that it is mostly an unfortunate misunderstanding, however I didn't appreciate the accusatory tone and threats of making claims to AirBNB about things that were either totally unfounded, or nothing to do with us.
We washed a bedsheet out of courtesy, and Patricia could not find where we had returned it. Instead of simply asking us where it was, Patricia lodged a 25 Euro claim and insinuated we had done away with it. In addition, Patricia accused us of damaging the leg of the Kitchen table and wanted an explanation. We were told that the only reason a claim was not being made against us was because there was no proof that we damaged it. As I explained to Patricia, we used the table for breakfast only and there was no way we could have caused the damage. The suggestion that we had stood on it or something was totally unfounded and pretty tasteless. Had we had anything to do with the damage, we are decent people and would've told her.
Patricia was also upset by us not emptying the bin or sorting the recycling. We did this with the best intentions, because we were not sure about the recycling system in Berlin, plus we assumed the cleaning fee was in place to cover these things. To be clear, the bin was not overflowing or anything ridiculous - it was simply no emptied from the small bin - and the recycling was left in two plastic bags, ready to be sorted.
As I said, the accommodation itself was lovely, however the communication after the stay left us with a decidedly sour taste in our mouths.
Renting out my apartment for more than 4 years now, i can say, i happens very, very seldom that i run into difficulties with guests. and if, it was mostly due to a lack of conversation. as it is here. - When Karthryn returned the key, it would have been simply smart to tell me, that they have been washing the sheet and replacing it with another one. I just found a fresh sheet on the bed, the "old one" was disappeared. replacing it cost 25 euro, and that is what a deposit is there for. (I never used this before in those 4 years !) The kitchen table's leg has a tear. The table is new. there was only one couple that has used the apt. before. Still, i thought, i will repair the table, i didn't ask for any money. i found 4 bag of rubbish. 2 big ones with paper and boxes, 2 normal size with kitchen rubbish. it might be a cultural habbit, if one leaves or takes out the rubbish. i find it a bit rude to leave 4 bags. for the recycling: The bins are on the way out, and just open the lid tells what goes where. Or, again, one could ask. --- Over all i'd say some explaining words at the end of Kathryns and Eds stay would have cleared it all and done good to all of us. Kathryn and Ed are nice people, and i wish they'll have a beautiful, exciting honeymoon journey!
We had a great stay at Patricia's place! The apartment is wonderful, lots of space of 2 people and the location is perfect. Communication went perfectly and Patricia was very helpful!
The Appartment is wonderful- exactly what you want, to feel like being part of this wonderful place- BERLIN!!!! Dear Patricia, thank you for the well organized and lovely welcome! Take care- Karin
We loved Patricia's apartment: the large living room with the comfortable couch, the quiet gardens on both sides of the apartment, the tasteful decoration, plenty of closet space for storage, ample natural light from tall windows, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, fresh eggs, and other items for cooking. A wonderful electric pot for boiling tea water in seconds. We felt well cared for and in beautiful surroundings. Delightful! Oh, and most of all, we enjoyed meeting Patricia and her husband, Michael. Patricia kept in close contact with us during our stay with information about events and restaurants, and taught us how to use the German washing machine--not difficult, just different from US models we're used to. We hope to go back to Berlin soon and would love to stay in Patricia's apartment again.
Our stay at Patricia's place was great! Patricia and her sister were warm and nice. They were very happy to help us, and it was a pleasure to chat with them.
It's great to walk into a place and discover pasta and sauce, as well as wine, spices and many other things waiting there for you. The place is fully equipped and it makes the stay much more comfortable.
It's a 3 minutes walk from the apartment to the nearest U station, and a 5-10 minutes walk to the supermarket hall, so we had everything we need.
The neighborhood is extremely quiet, but it's still close to Bergmanstrasse, where you can find bars and restaurants.
We only found two disadvantages of the apartment: First, it's a 4th floor apartment with no elevator. Second, we ran out of hot water quite fast, and had to wait a bit for another person to shower.
Nevertheless, the lovely Patricia and her sister makes up for those. We would defiantly recommend our friends to stay there at their trip to Berlin.
Patricia, miki and Manuela, thanks again for your hospitality! We had a great time :-)
