Our Trastevere’s neighborhood is known as the most typical of the city.
During the day, in its narrow streets you sense the atmosphere of the ‘800 quiet life, thanks to the preservation of its historical sites and of the ancient craft shops.
The cobbled streets are mostly car-free, the restauratnts and cafes serve up some of the cheapest eats you’ll find in Rome and it’s good too, the square in front of Santa Maria in Trastevere church is very charming.
During the evening Trastevere becomes the heart of the Roman nightlife and it’s very easy to lose yourself between several pubs, disco bar or pizzerias.
Trastevere Borgo was very important since the age of the Roman Emperor Augustus, he wanted to extend the Rome’s boundaries to this “Regio Transtiberina”, before that time it was occupied by the Etruscans.
Below you find some general directions to reach the apartment by public transportation:
From Fiumicino Airport there is a Metro line that’ll get you from the Rome airport into the city. It’s the FM1 line, called Sabina-Fiumicino, and it stops at Trastevere Station, then you can take the tram n. 8 to the Stop “Belli”; from there you proceed on foot for few minutes.
From Ciampino Airport you can take a bus (Terravision) to the Termini Station and then you can take the bus n.H to the stop “Belli” or you can take the bus n.64 to the stop “Largo Argentina” and then the tram n.8 to the stop “Belli”; from there you proceed on foot for few minutes.
You can see that in these directions there are also contained informations to reach the apartment from Termini Station or from Trastevere Station.
We want to inform you that we can offer you a pick up service from the Airport to the apartment, the price is 50 euro.
We are happy to welcome you!!!
What a charming loft! Nuccio met us at the apartment to show us how to use everything. He was very nice and helpful. The apartment was adorable and tucked away and was, by far, the quietest place we stayed during our visit to Italy. The loft bedroom with the tiny balcony was so sweet and comfortable. The main area was small, but not smaller than we expected and my daughter and I completely enjoyed staying there. While it was the quietest place, it was very close to the Piazza Santa Maria and all the local charm of Trastevere. We loved winding around the streets on foot and enjoying the beautiful churches and shops. It is very convenient to walking to most of the sights of Roma. We also found a path that led to extraordinary views of the city from above..(Garibaldi Parco?) It was an uphill climb that should not be missed! These were our last 2 days/nights in Italy before we left and we were so glad we spent it here!
What a charming apartment and neighborhood. Ada and Nuccio are lovely hosts and I don't think we could have enjoyed our stay more. Highly recommend Trastevere, very laid-back sweet neighborhood with interesting shops and good restaurants. Rome is now my favorite Italian city, friendliest people and great food.
I had a wonderful time at Ada and Nuccio's place : it has the perfect location, could go by foot everywhere. And this little "house" is so cute ! Romantic and peaceful. The best place in Rome !
The apartment fit our needs perfectly. We were only two so it was plenty of room and in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere and see the city in just four days, by foot. AND this neighborhood was also my favorite of the city with plenty of great, affordable dining options. They provided us with maps, towels, and everything we needed to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated and I will definitely be coming back. :)
We had an amazing time staying at Ada & Nuccio's flat in Trastevere, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Rome. The area was perfect and it was possible to explore all the main sights by foot, there were lots of cafes, restaurants and bars very close by but the flat itself was very quiet. The flat was just what we needed. Nuccio was very welcoming and gave us some good advice when we arrived. 10 out of 10.
nuccio and ada's place in trastevere is really cosy, clean and nice, perfect for 2 people. it's also a lovely area to stay in rome, within walking distance to most places, and the old streets and bars and restaurants are amazing here. nuccio received us, gave us the keys, showed around the house, and the workings, gave us maps and directions, and many recommendations - restaurants, bars, aperitivo places, supermarkets etc.
all in all, awesome. would definitely stay here again when i'm in rome.
What an absolutely charming place to stay. The loft is cosy and warm with a delightfully rustic atmosphere. It has everything you need for a great stay, and the hosts were very welcoming. The neighboourhood is fun and safe, and well located to everything rome has to offer. I have recommended to my friends!
The apartment is in a beautiful area of Rome. We could walk to every site we wanted to visit. The loft space is cute and comfortable. Positives were a hot and strong shower, a guide book in English, great coffee with a stove top and a very quiet location. Nuccio gave us a great welcome and his instructions were useful, including restaurants and how to reach Trastevere from the airport. We would stay here again next time we visit Rome.
December 2013 My husband and I stayed at this cozy Trastevere apartment during our stay in Rome, on our recent trip to Italy (from the US). If you like being surrounded by locals, the location is absolutely perfect as it's tucked in the middle of the very hip Trastevere area! There's a myriad of restaurants, cafes and bars within a few hundred feet from the apartment, all of which offer delicious food and drinks at a very reasonable price, and are packed with locals. We had some of the best food in this area throughout our 8 nights around Italy - some even at a few places recommended by Ada & Nuccio (& Fabrizio, whom greeted us at our arrival to give us the keys to the apartment). Without having a cell phone in Europe, we were worried about how we would let Ada & Nuccio know that our train ran a little later than expected. But luckily, we went into a cafe around the corner from the apartment, connected to their wifi, and I was able to send an email to Ada & Nuccio. They responded within minutes to let me know that their friend, Fabrizio, would be meeting us at the apartment. It worked out really well. He was friendly and very welcoming. The actual apartment is incredibly cozy and has so much character. It's the perfect sized place for 2 people - maybe even 3. The heater wasn't as warm as we would have liked, but honestly, we weren't expecting it to work perfectly in the winter during really cold temperatures anyway. Luckily, the bed was very warm and comfortable. The bathroom was small, but nothing to worry about - the cat-sticker-toilet-seat is quite hilarious though. I found myself giggling every time I went to the bathroom. We didn't really make use of the kitchen, but it had everything you needed to make a simple at-home meal. The neighborhood is safe, and although just a few blocks from the very loud and lively streets, the apartment itself is on a very quiet and calm street, which was great after a long and busy day of walking and sightseeing. It's centrally located from all the major attractions of Rome - about a 20 minute walk from the Vatican; 25 minute walk to the Colloseum; 20 minutes to the Trevi Fountain. It's a nice walk anywhere, and probably what we loved most about Rome because there is so much to see around you - so much history, so if you don't mind walking, do so. It's worth it! We looked forward to coming back to our temporary "home" every night because it really did feel like our own after just a couple of days. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is flexible and looking for a real gem in the heart of Trastevere, and Rome! It's just wonderful, and I will DEFINITELY be back here if we're blessed with going back to Rome. Thank you, Ada &...
