About this listing
A peaceful getaway in the middle of the Alps - ideal for families, couples, singles and all those who like nature, want to take a rest and to explore the region by hiking, walking, climbing, skiing and snowshoe walking.
The chalet, built in 19th century in the traditional style of Valais, is located in a peaceful, former farmers' village near the UNESCO Nature World Heritage site Aletsch, where Europe's longest glacier is situated. This spot at 900 metres above sea level is also well known for its sunny position.
Completely renovated, the chalet chalet offers a fully equiped kitchen, a living room and shower/WC/washbasin, and upstairs 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each. For our smallest guests, a baby cot and a baby bath tub is provided. 2 terraces and a balcony are designed for to chill, eat outside and enjoy your sundowner. The wood stove and electric furnaces are provided for heating.
Our well with drinkable water just in front of the house and the sheep and goats on the nearby meadows are great attractions for kids.
This quiet spot also offers you a spectacular view to the grand Simplon/Sempione mountain range at the border to Italy.
One of the chalet's cellar rooms has been converted into a little studio with separate entrance door. It is used by family members occasionally.
You can start your hiking tours right from the house.
Climbing enthusiasts will find the nearby rock climbing area "Trämel", just 15 mins. to walk.
There are also plenty of hiking options in the whole area, among them the enchanted paths round the stunning Aletsch Glacier, i.a. accessible from Blatten by cable car to Belalp.
Blatten is easily accessible by car or by public bus (10/15 mins. drive). The Belalp offers you fabulous alpine skiing & snowboarding slopes.
The Chalet is half way between Naters centre and Blatten and accessible by car and by public transport (9 mins. from Brig train station). Supermarkets and shops in Naters and Brig are accessible by car and with public transport in no more than 10 mins.
