Set in secluded gardens just five min walk to town centre, with its cafes, shops and music pubs. Clonakilty Bay sweeps out to the stunning Inchidoney beach and sits at the gateway to glorious West Cork with its rugged mountains and Atlantic coastline.
Our apartment is unique in that it is set in a peaceful garden setting yet is only 5/10 mins walk down the hill into the centre of Clonakilty, a buzzing small town with many great cafes, pubs, hotels, art centre, music sessions etc.
your apartment is totally self contained, set in our large back garden which we are happy to share with you, sea views from the front garden are stunning.
Interaction with Guests
myself and husband Tom and son Fergus live in the main house, how much we interact with guests is your call. If you want a quiet, uninterrupted stay we will show you around apartment and leave you to it, however our door is always open and am more than happy to share local knowledge, directions, etc.
Clonakilty is a vibrant small coastal town with a long standing music tradition. There is live music in most pubs throughout the Summer, and in 3/4 regular venues during the Winter months. There's a great farmer's market every Fri. with delicious local produce, buskers and great coffee !
There are regular buses from Cork city, these travel through Clon. and continue further West to Skibereen, Schull and Golleen. There is guest parking on site. From Cork airport drive West, through Bandon to Clonakilty. Drive to town centre, at Astna Square head right up McCurtain Hill. Continue up this hill, you will pass the Garda station on your right, carry on up hill until you see a sign on the left for Kilty Cycle Repairs , just after this on the left you will see a row of cottages we are the first one on the left, painted cream with red doors and windows. Our driveway is steep.
pets allowed, mutual respect a good policy I think.
Brigid and her husband were very friendly and helpful. The cottage itself is a great little spot, a quiet place with all the necessary amenities for shorter and longer stays and ideal for exploring Clonakilty and the surrounding areas.
Unfortunately there was a problem with the heating and we only ended up stayed one night. Our hosts did try to alleviate the issue by providing us with a heater but we decided to leave the next day. Brigid kindly refunded us.
We had a lovely stay in Brigid's - it's a sweet little house for a couple, and so quiet there but still only 10 mins walk into town.
I was worried it might be a little cold but the heating was great - half an hour had the place nicely warmed up, so it was handy to set the timer knowing we'd arrive home late in the night.
Brigid herself was away during our stay but made sure we were ok with directions and her son showed us in when we arrived.
The apartment was very nice and just up the hill from town. It was cozy and quite roomy! All of the amenities.
Brigid was really easy to get in touch with before hand and kindly passed on contact numbers for her husband and son as she wasn't going to be around when we checked in. Bread, butter and milk for tea were left for us which such a lovely touch. the cottage itself was perfect for our short stay, and only 10 mins downhill walk to Clonakilty.
Wow , what a wonderful town full of beautiful friendly people/

Our stay here was amazing. We absolutely loved the cottage and wished we could have stayed much longer. Definitely, one of our favorite spots on our trip. Tom was a warm and friendly host who made us feel very welcome. If we ever travel back to Ireland, we will be sure to try and book this location again. Thank you for your hospitality.
