The three of us (two adults, one 12 year old) had four great days in Domitila's apartment. It has some features which we really appreciate and which are not a given in Rome: it is centrally located (within walking distance to the Peter's Church, Trastevere, Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori), fast internet and it is quiet. Domitila is very nice to communicate with and she quickly responded when a heater wasn't working and came to fix it herself. Her mom cleans the apartment and she is super nice and we were able to store our luggage in her apartment close by when we checked out.
The apartment is clearly not someone's home and it is sparsely furnished and didn't have a bar of soap, for example, so be prepared to bring your own or buy if the person before didn't leave it behind. It also has the same challenge most Italian houses have, namely that it's hard to regulate the temperature. The heaters turn on and off automatically morning and night, and when the temperature is right in most of the apartment, it was quite warm on the top "floor" (no ventilation or window up there).
Also, as the top floor is built into the existing floor plan, the kitchen and the upstairs bedroom and bath have very low ceilings (about 190 cm).
However, these are just things to take note of - it's a great place to explore Rome from and we would love to come back.
Domitilla is a very amiable host, so nice and helpful. The apartment is lovely, especially the romantic loft bed and the leafy balcony. Yes, it is a little clairaudient, but we love the apartment and hope to come back very soon.
The appartment is in a quiet area but still pretty close to all the busy streets of travestere. All of the main attractions are within walking distance. The apartment is big and clean. But if you are from a Nordic county the ceilings are a bit low. But this is a minor detail. Domitilla has knowledge about the area and is very nice and welcoming. The only thing I would give as feedback; the house is a bit IKEA styled. You won't get the true B&B experience which airbnb is really about. I have the feeling that the owner doesn't live there at all. But other than that we had a great time!
Wonderfull stay at Domitilla's place. The appartement is a charming place to stay and it's very well located. Domitilla was really nice and helpfull. We warmly recommand this place!
We chose this apartment because it looked very cosy, and I was hoping that the proximity to Trasvetere would give us plenty to see. Domitilla was very helpful, she pre-arranged for our airport transfer, gave us detailed instructions on the apartment when she greeted us upon arrival, some maps and answered our questions on supermarket and restaurants, and lent us a mobile Wifi internet unit (which unfortunately had very limited reception at the apartment, but very useful elsewhere).
What we liked:
Big, comfy duplex unit! Balcony was great for ventilation. 3 beds which accommodated our group of 3 adults and 2 children well.
What could have been better:
Bathroom which had no curtains, which meant that water from the shower splashed onto the floor (which didn't have drainage) and leaked downstairs near the kitchen.
We also expected to have a dryer, which was mentioned in the listing but was not in the apartment.
Ora i termosifoni funzionano perfettamente.
