I was nice and really flexible with you i allow you to have your family there FOR FREE when you paid just for 2 people! i organize tranfer to come to the apartment and go to the airport...i came later to meet you and to exlain you all you needed to know and i was always willing to help you and on the other hand you say that one bottle of LAMBRUSCO would it be appriciate !!!!!!???? i remind you that you take an apartment in the heart of trastevere for 100 euros per night not the Hilton Hotel.
A very nice and centrally located apartment. We had an excellent correspondance with Domitilla and it was very nice to meet her, when we arrived at the apartment. A very spacious place with high cielings (16 ft.) and a terrace thats easily fits a family of four.
The three of us (two adults, one 12 year old) had four great days in Domitila's apartment. It has some features which we really appreciate and which are not a given in Rome: it is centrally located (within walking distance to the Peter's Church, Trastevere, Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori), fast internet and it is quiet. Domitila is very nice to communicate with and she quickly responded when a heater wasn't working and came to fix it herself. Her mom cleans the apartment and she is super nice and we were able to store our luggage in her apartment close by when we checked out.
The apartment is clearly not someone's home and it is sparsely furnished and didn't have a bar of soap, for example, so be prepared to bring your own or buy if the person before didn't leave it behind. It also has the same challenge most Italian houses have, namely that it's hard to regulate the temperature. The heaters turn on and off automatically morning and night, and when the temperature is right in most of the apartment, it was quite warm on the top "floor" (no ventilation or window up there).
Also, as the top floor is built into the existing floor plan, the kitchen and the upstairs bedroom and bath have very low ceilings (about 190 cm).
However, these are just things to take note of - it's a great place to explore Rome from and we would love to come back.
The appartment is in a quiet area but still pretty close to all the busy streets of travestere. All of the main attractions are within walking distance. The apartment is big and clean. But if you are from a Nordic county the ceilings are a bit low. But this is a minor detail. Domitilla has knowledge about the area and is very nice and welcoming. The only thing I would give as feedback; the house is a bit IKEA styled. You won't get the true B&B experience which airbnb is really about. I have the feeling that the owner doesn't live there at all. But other than that we had a great time!
