Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I needed a place to host my brother for the long Thanksgiving weekend and keep it close to our studio. Amy was very responsive in her emails/texts, her place was exactly as advertised and the whole experience was great. We arrived around 10pm and was not a problem. Will certainly use Amy's place again in the future. Great host!

  • Amy was an excellent host. Very attentive and always wiling to help. She's also very nice to talk to, and a great cook! Her place is in a very nice part of Portland, not far from buses and the MAX station, but still very quiet. A very nice place to relax. The accommodations were also very good in every sense: spacious, warm, comfortable, private, everything gets and A+! I'd definitely recommend staying with her.

  • Amy was a wonderful host! Her house is so warm and the guest space is private and very comfortable. Amy is wonderful to talk to and has an awesome vibe! She even left me some of her great home cooking to taste for a late night snack after I came home. All in all a great experience!

  • I stayed at Amy's with my partner for four nights in Oct 2012. This was my first experience renting a place to stay through AirBNB. If this experience is representative, I'm sure I'll be renting again many times.

Amy was a very helpful and congenial host for us. On the multiple occasions where I had a question or needed something, she was consistently available and willing to help - to loan an iron, set me up for preparing a meal, to identify the nearest bus stops (and even take me there once), to provision warmer blankets, etc. She checked in with me prior to our arrival to ask if I wanted any beer or other beverages in the fridge (smile), and was flexible as to our shifting arrival time. Overall she made clear efforts to provide a hospitable experience for us.

Amy's house is comfortable and situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood that is also convenient to major east-west corridors of Glisan and Burnside, and not far from the Max Red Line. With a car you will be well-situated. (While some may prefer to be closer to downtown or in a neighborhood where everything is within easy walking distance, nothing of note is far away.) Amy's place is also workable without a car at almost any hour of day/night, though you may at times wait a bit for your bus or train.

The space Amy offers upstairs was sufficiently spacious to be able to spend most of our home time just there - a bedroom, a sitting room (or second bedroom), hallway and private bath. For us it was especially ideal in offering privacy, since the only thing that might necessitate going to shared space is for the cooking facilities in her kitchen. (She provided us with a fridge and microwave upstairs.) There were many pictures in her listing of her living/dining room and backyard, but we never used any of them. The main things we wished for at Amy's were a shower that I could stand up in and a mirror over the sink. (I took a shower sitting in the tub, due to a low/sloped ceiling. This worked fine, though wasn't my preference; baths work without any hitch.) On the other hand, many alternative places only offer a shared bath, while this bath was all ours. And it was also clean and new, which is awesome.

Overall, Amy offers a good value for a comfortable setting with privacy. I would gladly stay at Amy's again.

    Response from Amy:

thank you Tim and I'm hoping of seeing you again anytime soon.

  • Amy was a wonderful host. She really made me feel at home. She is very friendly and respectful. At the same time she allows you to have privacy. Amy is very thoughtful and will help you if you need her. The room is nice, there are actually two rooms, and one of them can be used to read, write, or do yoga. I will definitely go back.

  • Amy was a gracious host and we were so happy to meet her on our trip to Portland! The guest suite upstairs was spacious and clean and there was even an additional room for use if needed. The location was convenient (we had a car) and everywhere we wanted to go was easily accesible and there was always parking available in front of the house. The only concern we had was the slanted ceiling in the bathroom... it was fine for myself (I am 5'2") but my husband who is 6' tall found it a bit short in some areas which made it a bit difficult for him to shower comfortably. Overall we had a great experience staying at Amy's place and would recommend it to others!

  • Amy was a fantastic host and my sister and I loved staying at her place! It was great to have our own space and we found the upstairs to be very spacious and perfect for our week long stay. Amy was so accommodating and warm and even cooked us a delicious meal! Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Portland.

  • I had a really nice time getting to know Amy and was really pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of her house. The bed was comfortable, wi-fi reliable and backyard was full of flowers. Amy was a lot of fun to be around and very generous. I would certainly stay here again. My only complaint was that it was a bit more of a trek to get downtown than i had anticipated as it took me about 10-15minutes to walk to the tri-met and another 10-15 minutes to get downtown.

  • This was our first airbnb eperience and it was a good one. Amy's place was clean, comfortable and quiet, which are our top three priorities. We were happy to have our own fridge (with chilled bottled water there upon our arrival) and appreciated having our own private bathroom. Amy was considerate of our space and comfort; she was very cheerful and friendly. We'd stay here again.
