Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I had a very nice stay with Amy. The space is very well managed and spacious, both rooms are functional and the bed in the 'main' room is very comfortable. The house is only a 10 minute walk away from bus/light rail lines that go directly into the city and out to the airport. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • I enjoyed my stay with Amy very much. Having the whole floor, including a private bath, was great value for money. The bed is soft and comfortable, and has lots of space to relax. Amy is friendly and helpful and will leave you to yourself when you want to be.If you have a car the location is close to everything. If using transportation, the 19 bus takes you downtown and the 77 takes you to Hollywood Transit with multiple buses and Trimet MAX lines (with a Trader Joes on the corner). I will definitely stay at Amy's again and would be there now if she didn't have someone booked in. I am in a hotel now and it is less comfortable and more expensive.

  • Staying with Amy was wonderful! She was very friendly and welcoming and the place was immaculate and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Portland this is the best place you can choose.

  • I stayed at Amy's for 10 nights. I had a great time in Portland, thanks in no small part to Amy's friendliness, generosity, and assistance. My room was comfortable, and even though I didn't have a car, getting around was no problem because of the convenient bus stop. Thanks Amy!

  • From the minute we arrived late on Friday night to our departure Tuesday morning all was great. Advising on bars and restaurants, sharing coffee and fried plantains and hanging out with us over a beer in the backyard Amy was great fun and very helpful.

The apartment is beautiful, giving total privacy when required and lots of space. The neighborhood has a real energy and was very walkable.

Thanks Amy.....will be back soon !!

  • Amy is a wonderful, lively, energetic and positive host. Like others said, she's happy to help and engage her guests, but she's respectful of your privacy as well. Her house is in a quiet, safe neighborhood, and the upstairs flat she rents out is a quiet and large, with a european-style bathroom that's charming, but different than standard.

In summary, her place will give you more value per square foot than you'll get anywhere else in Portland and her friendly nature will ensure your stay at her place is a good one. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to enjoy any of her cooking, but there's always next time....

  • This was my first time using Airbnb and having Amy as my first hostess was the perfect. She welcomed us with tons of energy like we were her family. Amy had great suggestions and advice if its your first time in Portland. Her house was in the middle of everything which is a plus. I give my whole experience with Amy an A++ and would highly recommend her. I will definitely stay with Amy again.

  • Amy's place is awesome and she is a super hostess! Just as I arrived she invited me along to a Zumba class! She is really fun and active, you can catch her watering her flowers and plants outside as you are leaving the house to explore Portland. The upstairs is really cozy, everything you need to have a pleasant stay! Plenty of natural light, a comfortable bed, closet, a dresser, bookshelf, TV etc.. The neighborhood is great and really accessible to public transportation! Thanks Amy! Hope to see you again some time ;)

    Response from Amy:

Thanks Misty. lets go party next time when you are in town Ok

  • I was in need of a place to stay to attend the conference at the Convention Center. Though Amy's place was 30 minute away from the Convention Center, the public transportation system in Portland was more than efficient for me to get around in town. Do download a few apps in advance if you are planning on using the buses and trains. You'll be able to move about like a local with TriMet TransitTracker.

And Amy, my oh my, she is like a mom you never knew you had. She is very accommodating, understanding and easy-going. I needed to leave a day early as there was a death in my family. She had no problem with it at all and treated me very kindly. She let me have the whole upstairs and yes, it was very spacious. As the other reviewers said the position of the shower can be an issue if you are a tall person, but I'm short and didn't mind sitting down to take a shower.

I will definitely consider Amy's place again when I need to go to Portland again!

  • My stay with Amy was amazing! Amy is the best and I already miss her! She was so kind to invite me along to lunch with her and show me a bit of Portland - and she also gave me plenty of space to do my own thing. Amy is also an amazing cook and the best meals I had in Portland were made by Amy! Her place is about a 20 minute walk to the MAX or there is a bus just a couple of streets over that takes you to the 60th street MAX station in a few minutes or straight downtown. There is a large grocery store about 15 minute walk. Amy has gorgeous gardens that are lovely to sit in and relax in the afternoon, and the studio upstairs is very spacious with the room plus the large office area. The microwave and fridge were great as well for your basic cooking. As some other reviewers mentioned, the bathroom is quirky, but serviceable.

Best parts: Excellent value and wonderful host
To keep in mind: not a huge amount of things within short walking distance, but easy enough to get into town. Bathroom fine for short people like me :)

Would not hesitate to stay with Amy again if I get back to Portland.
