It takes you in five minutes to Karlsplatz or Sendlinger Tor or Elisabethmarkt and Kurfürstenplatz in Schwabing. There are also several bus lines close by.
Smoking please only outside on the terrace.
This place was Great!! And Thilo was the perfect host. The apartment is very new and clean with everything provided that we needed (including good coffee). Location is perfect with Ubahn just around the corner, hundreds of restaurants within a short walk, even a nice local beer garden and small supermarket close by. English garden (an amazing park - just awesome) - is also a short walk away. Thilo met us at the apartment as arranged and gave us lots of local information - most of it in a pamphlet that he has for visitors - he is very well organised. I could keep going - but this was simply a great place to stay with a very pleasant host.
Thilo met me at arrival and showed me his great apartment.
It´s a fairly small but feels spacious, and really, really cool studio apartment in the great Maxvorstadt- district, extremely close to a lot of the best things about München. The Alte Pinakothek, Pinakothek der moderne are both amazing museums close by. The apartment is also in a very good spot if you´re up for some interesting, yet gruesome nazi- history, as it´s not far from Briennerstrasse where you´ll find the recently opened and very fascinating NS- Dokumentationszentrum, right on the spot where it all started, and you can see some of the old nazi architecture yet existing (among it Hitlers palais, and several nazi office buildings).
Also right across the street from the apartment is the Ludwig Maximilians Universität that´s open to the public. A really beautiful building, but also the place where Hans and Sophie Scholl were arrested by the Gestapo and executed 5 days later for their resistance against the nazism. Worth visiting is also their memorial inside the building where you can loan an audio guide. You can enter from Amalienstrasse, or the main entrance of the university called Geschwister-Scholl-Platz" The Scholls and others who opposed the nazis (and they were not many), are also mentioned in the NS- center and for the very interested, you can also visit the Scholl´s graves (among others who fell under this trial in the Perlacher Forst cemetary outside the city center). Also consider visiting the majestic Justispalazt where they were given their death sentences, and where there´s also a memorial of the siblings and their group "Weisse Rose" in one of the courtrooms.
The apartment is close to beautiful Englisher Garten (bigger than Central Park) with its great beer gartens and a 15 min walk to Odenonsplatz and the great Hofgarten with a biergarten and also another memorial of the Scholl- siblings. Also check out the Haus der Kunst and its fascinating history with modern art and a really cool bar, "Goldener bar".
Thilo was a very friendly and talkative guy, the apartment spotlessly clean with all amenities. He even left cold water for me and plenty of coffee. The apartment is modern, fresh, bright, sunny and very convenient. It even has a great balcony. Unfortunately is was a heatwave in München during my visit, and I really hate extreme heat, so didn´t use the balcony a lot, but used the electric fan. A lot!
Great wifi- connection. Everything was perfect! Great spot for a single or a young couple who want a great starting point for exploring this exciting and beautiful city.
Will definitely come back!
I love München! And love this area. I just hope for a milder temperature next time. Thanks for letting me stay, Thilo!
Thilo was very welcoming and had lots of helpful advice. The apartment was beautiful and well equipped. We had a wonderful stay.
A perfect place in a perfect corner of Munich. Could've explored the area for days. Within walking distance of parks, restaurants, museums, boutiques and incredible cafes. The place itself has everything you need.
alle Abmachungen wurden eingehalten, perfekte Organisation und freundlicher Empfang, auch während des Aufenthalts ein stets aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Besonders gut durchdachte Ausstattung, gerne wieder.
Great location. Thilo was really friendly and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed for a short stay in Munich. We had a wonderful stay!
