This quiet residential room is located in the heart of Regina's Cathedral Village and within walking distance to downtown and many amenities.
This large bedroom overlooks a lovely private backyard and organic garden.
A nice big room, with plenty of space to spread out and make yourself at home.
Martine was very welcoming! The room was clean and ready for me when I got there. The air mattress was surprisingly comfortable! If you're looking to stay in a character home with some quirks, this is the place for you.
Martine was very helpful and nice, I had no trouble with living in the house at all. The heater in the room works wonderfully well even in Regina winter! Overall had a good experience.
Martine is an extremely helpful host, as I was new to the area, she was able to inform me of local grocery stores, restaurants and other amenities. Each time I returned from work, she would strike up conversation regarding the day and continue to make me feel welcome.
The room was as advertised, the fireplace heater was excellent as I was staying for the winter. Certainly saved me more money than if I was in a hotel.
It was about a 8-10 minute walk (in winter) to get to the nearest main road bus stop and about a 5 minute walk max to the nearby grocery centre.
I'd recommend Martine's place to anyone, she was a personable host and always willing to talk.
Excellent location in charming Regina neighborhood, easy walk to downtown, good restaurants and farmers' market. Clean room, accommodating host.
Martine was welcoming and friendly and was there to let us in. The street was within walking distance of the cathedral area although it's close to the industrial area on Saskatchewan drive. We had booked the room for 2 nights but we decided not to stay the second night for the following reasons. We found the house to be run down (bedroom walls cracked and crudely mudded, generally a worn older home). It had a noticeable detergent/perfumey smell. We opened the window which had no screen and when we propped the window open with a CD case, moths flew in the room. The air bed was very uncomfortable for us contrary to what other reviewers have said. We hardly slept that night. Martine mentioned that there might be a refund possible but we have heard nothing to this point.
This Airbnb listing was overpriced for a room in a rundown house with a shared bathroom.
This is the second difficult Airbnb experience we have had and will be reluctant to try it again.
I'm sorry that you were not happy with the accommodation. You never mentioned any of this to me...only the bed. And it was clearly listed as an airbed as well as the colour of the room clearly depicted in the pictures. And yes...I do wash my linens which would be the "perfumy" smell. If you had sensitivities you needed to share that prior to your arrival. It seems you have had difficulty with AirBnB in general, which was in your correspondence. I've come to the conclusion that some people just aren't suited for this type of accommodation.
This was my first airbnb experience. If every host is like Martine, I'll keep using airbnb for all of my traveling. Martine was gracious and accommodating. Her place was tasteful, comfortable, and clean. The location in Cathedral was ideal and there was plenty of parking, as well as a safe place to lock my bicycle.
I only regret being so busy that I didn't get to visit much with Martine or her other tenants. She seemed friendly and interesting, but between attending a conference and Regina Folk Festival, I had very little time to chat.
I would absolutely recommend Martine based on my experience, and if I am back in Regina I would definitely stay with her again.
Martine was welcoming and helpful to us upon our arrival to Regina for the week. Our room was spacious and clean, and the airbed was surprisingly comfortable. Both my partner and I were pleased with her willingness to accommodate our use of her fridge as well throughout our stay.
As for the location, it was excellent and very convenient, as we were able to easily attend all our daughter's sporting events in Regina within a 10-15 minute drive.
Martine was great! As we have similar interests in food safety, herbal medicine and gardening! I wish her all the best!
Thanks Jennifer! It was a pleasure having you and Harry here. You are both fantastic guests! I just wish that we had more time to hang out, but the time we did, I thoroughly enjoyed! And... thank you again for that great big bag of Chia. I'm adding it to my smoothies every day and just loving it!
