Acton Studio is perfect for walkers as we are near the South West Coast Path and ideal for those wanting to get back to nature and unwind as we are off the beaten track. We are close to Corfe Castle and other attractions in the Isle of Purbeck.

The space
We are taking the current situation very seriously to ensure the safety of our guests and of ourselves. We have added extra cleaning steps between stays and hand wash is provided.

Acton Studio is a recently converted compact purbeck stone outbuilding with double bed, wet room and kitchenette with table and chairs. The kitchenette has an electric oven, hob, fridge, sink, kettle, toaster and essential kitchen items. Dorset tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided.

The studio is located at the bottom of our rear garden and has it's own private garden.

Sit in the enclosed garden on a summer evening after a long hike relaxing with a beer or glass of wine. On a clear night and with no street lights you can gaze up at a sky full of stars.

Guest access
Please self check in after 4pm by following the Airbnb self check in instructions that are available a few days before your trip on the Airbnb app.

We have a designated area for two cars on our own land nearby ( a 60 second walk away) but you are more than welcome to unload outside the house.

Other things to note
Acton has unmade roads throughout. The walk to the parking area is on an unmade road, not suitable for less abled people

The postcode on a sat nav will NOT take you to the right area to unload. Please see the check in instructions found on the Airbnb app. This gives you step by step photos of how to find the studio.

Please drive into Acton, passing a map and post box on the left. Do NOT take the first left turning. Continue straight on onto an unmade road. At the end, the track splits in to two left turnings. Take the second turning then carry on down until you pass a house on your left called The Wilds. Take the left turning immediately past this house and keep going around to the left to some spaces.
There is a stone sign saying Highland Cottages. Please park somewhere here to unload only.

Location

Acton, England, United Kingdom

Acton is a small tranquil hamlet of around forty Purbeck stone cottages with unmade roads throughout.

There is two pubs within walking distance. The King's Arms in Langton Matravers (25 minutes) and the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers (30 minutes). The Square and Compass only serves pies and pasties. A couple of minutes in the car and you reach The Scott Arms in Kingston then a little further The Castle Inn and The Greyhound in Corfe Castle.

The nearest shop is in Langton Matravers ( a twenty five minute walk) but please check that they are open. There are Coop and Budgen supermarkets in Swanage and lots of smaller shops (a ten minute drive).

We are surrounded by fields, some with cows and sheep and we are located on the South West Coast Path incorporating breath-taking views. We are lucky to live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, home to many rare plants and animals.

The Purbeck coastline is part of the ninety-five mile stretch known as the 'Jurassic Coast', named England’s first natural world heritage site in 2002 because of the unique insight it offers into 185 million years of the Earth’s history.
