Our beautiful house is on a quiet, paved street. A large outdoor dining space, a small stream, tropical birds, and tall trees. Two private bedrooms have queen beds; a spiral staircase leads to a large, OPEN, loft (3rd bdrm) with two NEW twin beds (sleeps total of 6), and air mattress (sleeps 1), if needed. Perfect for families! An en-suite bathroom is in the master bedroom with a NEW queen bed!! Fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size washer/dryer. Enjoy!

The space
Hello and welcome to our lovely vacation home! Please locate the house guidebook on the entry table in the living room to answer most questions. Enjoy the books located under the TV (yoga magazines, travel, bird and nature books, as well as favorite paperbacks.) We also have many games including bocce/lawn bowling. We have a smart TV. Please do not forget to sign out/unsubscribe from your streaming apps.

We have instant hot water so you should never run out! BUT be mindful about using hot water as the same time as washing dishes or running the other shower.

Please be mindful of our spiral staircase and loft if you have little ones.

Guest access
You have the entire house and property for your visit. You are welcome to open the windows and sliders to bring in the fresh air, as well as fans in the loft and living room. Or you may use the A/C in each of the rooms, including a NEW A/C in the loft!!

This is an ALL ELECTRIC house, NO propane or natural gas is used. We recommend setting the A/C between 22-25C in the bedrooms, 24-28C or higher in the kitchen.

When you leave for your daily excursions, PLEASE close windows/curtains and lock doors, you may leave the A/C on but turn it up to 30 C or OFF completely since electricity is VERY EXPENSIVE. Thank you!

Other things to note
We can assist you with any activities you are interested in for the area around La Fortuna as well as all of Costa Rica. We have many places for dining in the area, as well as just down the road in La Fortuna.

Ask Delvis for recommendations. Our neighborhood is an excellent place for a morning jog/walk. There is a nice trail that will take you on the road behind our house that is lovely (walk out past Volcano Lodge and toward the Manoa property). Enjoy views of the volcano as well as beautiful pastures and bird-filled trees.

IMPORTANT: We do not have trash service (our gardener or manager pick it up) so please make an effort to separate recyclables and other trash. We have a big container for food waste for our composting at Pure Trek. Please do not place food waste in the trash. Delvis will explain how to handle the trash and food container. I would recommend daily removal. Also PLEASE keep all traces of food cleaned up as small ants are common to the rainforest and will find these crumbs.

Regarding the hot water in the SHOWER: turn the handle to about 5:00 (per the recommended temperature of other guests). We have basic internet service for personal use (streaming, FaceTime, Google Meet) but found it is not ideal for remote working such as Zoom meetings.

If you are a fellow yogi please enjoy the outdoor dining area for a yoga practice and meditation. There are mats in the bedrooms or upstairs, please wipe clean when finished. Namaste

The La Palma neighborhood consists of only a handful of private homes. We are related to the owner of Pure Trek Canyoning two doors down. They offer not only the most amazing adventure tour, but concierge service and my property management. This small community is also home to one of the most prestigious boutique spa resorts in Central/South America, Nayara Spa and Hotel, as recognized by Travel and Leisure magazine. There are also other luxurious hotels in our tract: Volcano Lodge, Manoa, and Arenal Springs Resort. And, a short drive will take you to The Springs Spa and Resort (as seen on The Bachelor!).

Restaurants in La Fortuna (a 10-minute drive) offer the most choices for food: Anchio and Lava Lounge are favorites!

La Fortuna offers so many adventure and leisure activities such as canyoning, hiking, kayaking, rafting, fishing, thermal-heated hot springs/spas, and farm to table cooking classes!

It is also the perfect location for other explorations: 3 hours to San Jose and 3 hours to the Pacific-side beaches. Let us know how we can help you enjoy all of Costa Rica!
