Based in a period building in the Florentine district of Tel Aviv it is within easy walking distance to the best attractions of this exciting city – the beach, Neve Tzedek, and Rothschild Boulevard. The building itself is authentic, but not in a good state of repair, but our studios within are very clean, modernized and comfortable, and the area itself is very safe.
The following is a useful guide to where it is worth visiting, in Florentine where we are, and the surrounding areas, and all within walking distance.
FLORENTINE is the fun neighborhood of Tel Aviv, old, shabby and authentic, full of historic buildings and Bauhaus architecture, cafes, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlors. Most of these stay open till the early hours so the area is popular with the young Tel Avivians. During the day there is market style shopping in the neighboring Levinski Street for groceries, nuts and spices and many other goods at local prices, popular with the old Tel Avivians.
The BEACH is just a 10 minute walk away. This is at the south of the 5km stretch of the Tel Aviv beaches and they tend to be quieter compared to the central or northern beaches, and are ideal for a morning walk and dip into the Mediterranean, followed by breakfast by the sea with views to old Jaffa to the south and modern Tel Aviv to the north.
NEVE TZEDEK is Tel Aviv’s oldest quarter, from whence the rest of Tel Aviv branched out. It is over 120 years old and is only a 3 minutes’ walk. Today it has become an affluent area, full of galleries, boutiques, street cafes and restaurants, but still retains many of its original features and character. Next to it is the historic Jaffa train station (Hatachana) which was recently renovated into a glorious piazza with bars, restaurants and exclusive shopping.
ROTHCHILD BOULEVARD is 10 minutes by foot. This is the real heart of Tel Aviv and can be enjoyed pretty much 24 hours a day. You can experience beautiful surroundings in a mix of old Bauhaus and eclectic buildings with new high tech glass skyscrapers. It is a lively place, buzzing with people of all ages taking in the cafes and restaurants, or just strolling along the middle of the tree lined street at all hours, day and night.
OLD JAFFA is a 10 minutes’ walk and apart from the old city, it has a vibrant flea market so is definitely worth a visit. In the night, the Jaffa Flee Market transforms into a popular nightspot. The Jaffa port is also a lively spot, both day and night.
PRICES are set to provide excellent value for staying in a classic, clean and comfortable self-contained studio in the perfect location to enjoy Tel Aviv to the full with no need to get on the bus or in a taxi. There are also further discounts for weekly or monthly stays.
As for SERVICE, we are always happy to help with advice or recommendations for places to go, or for dining. The area has unrestricted free street parking. There is no TV, so nothing to distract you from having real fun. Free internet with WiFi is provided so you can stay in touch with the world. Check in and out times are flexible. Very late or early arrivals are ok with us. And if you have any special needs, feel free to ask and we will try our best.
Everything including Kitchen and bathroom are private for each studio. Tea, Coffee and sugar also provided. WiFi is shared between our 3 studios only.
We have a coded entry system, so you can easily check in and out at all hours. Detailed easy-to-follow instructions are provided.
Florentine itself is great fun, and very authentic, and open 247. Each surrounding district has its unique character and can be experienced within easy walking distance. Together they make up the best of Tel Aviv.
There are a couple of bus routes in the nearby main street. Alenby St which is 10 minutes' walk has most of the bus routes of Tel Aviv passing through.
The Florentine district appeals to those seeking something old, authentic, alternative, fun and safe at all hours. The street scene is shabby but the area is gradually being upgraded. You will see from the reviews that almost all our guests loved the studio and the district it is surrounded by.

Susanna e Francesca
To be fair to Susanna the building is old and not always clean. The Florentin district is also shabby, although perfectly safe and great fun and very popular. However, the complaints about the room were unfounded. We tried to come to put things right but she refused. We refunded for all the nights not stayed. We arrived after she left expecting that something had gone wrong with our usual cleaner, but found the room very clean and presentable and pleasant (save for a single hair probably from our cleaner and a couple of old stains on the outer bedspread,. Not 5 star, but above and beyond normal b&b standards. As for the building and area, they are not in our control, but both locals and tourists enjoy it immensely and testified by many enthusiastic reviews.
We spent a very good time in TLV. The apartment is as described. The communication with Benny is very easy and direct. He is helpful, manages late arrival and last minute request. Not far from the beach and from really good restaurants!
Good for value!
We had a great time at Benny's place. Simple, but good apartment/room. Its clean and you have everything you need. Good location. Benny was very helpful during the stay.
The apartment was simple and clean; the bed was comfortable. The kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs. Benny was very good about giving us directions and other information. It is located in a neighborhood that was very convenient for us, we could walk everywhere we needed to go. It is reasonably quiet for a busy area. .
In the spirit of every situation can be improved: the curtain on the window was thin and provided no privacy; the wifi signal was weak and unreliable. It would have been nice to have had a reading lamp.
We would certainly stay there again.
Overall this was a great place to stay, and the value for money was good, in my opinion.
Pros: Plenty of room, two beds (one in a loft) so it can fit more people if you need it, excellent air conditioning. Instructions for getting there and getting in were great, and key was left so we didn't have to organize a meeting. Walking distance to the beach and Old Jaffa
Cons: Biggest con is that there are no blinds or drapes except for a very thin one, so it gets very light early and is difficult to sleep in. The shower is a bit small and the water gets everywhere in the bathroom. Not a lot of bars/restaurants in the immediate area, although if you walk you will find some.
Overall we had a nice experience at this place.
Séjour très agréable, les explications afin de trouver la location étaient des plus clairs et simple. Quartier très agréable. Le logement est spacieux pour 3 personnes et propres.
Manque un peu d'ustensiles afin de pouvoir déjeuner.
We had a great time in Tel Aviv and in the appartment of Benny.
I can advise the friendly host...
The host, Mr. Benny Jacobs, was extremely helpful to me. I did not have computer or personal phone with me, and he helped me communicate with a driver from Jerusalem. He was very kind and gracious as well as helpful. I appreciate him. He also gave me a lot of tips on good eating places in Tel Aviv, both in the neighborhood and farther away.
easy to communicate with him
