Taking cues from the surrounding desert landscape, weathered Adobe walls and its history of being a gathering place for the community, the Elysian Grove Market is a curated space intended to be shared. The EGM blends subtle historic notes with a relaxed, minimal aesthetic to create an urban retreat that promotes effortless escapism and familiar comforts.
The space
The EGM was thoughtfully crafted to offer its guests a boutique hospitality experience within an iconic, 100-year old, carefully preserved building. With a rich history and beloved by so many, the Elysian Grove Market is located within the historic Barrio Viejo District, which is walking distance from festivals, vibrant music venues, the Tucson Convention Center, downtown proper, coffee houses, intimate pubs, galleries and more.
SLEEP:
Offering a king-size bed with layered bedding for unparalleled comfort and a selection of pillows to match your preference, you may not want to leave the bedroom. Taking special care of our guests' privacy within a pedestrian and tourist-friendly neighborhood, the EGM's dramatic wooden window louvers filter light and shadows throughout the day for visual interest as well as enhanced discretion with an automated roller shade in the bedroom.
ADDITIONAL SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT:
For groups of three, the lounge/reading nook can accommodate a standard twin-size sleeping option for 1 guest upon request. The EGM was intentionally designed to offer our guests defined private spaces while maintaining a fluid, open-concept design without fully enclosed sleeping areas. Please refer to the EGM floor plan to ensure this space is suitable for your privacy needs.
SELF-CARE:
The bathroom was designed to promote wellness and rejuvenation in an experiential way. With a custom burnt Adobe Tadelakt finish that envelops you as you walk into the spacious shower, the generous rain shower, hand shower and body spray blended with fragrant notes of Cedar and Bergamot is the perfect way to start or end your day. Regionally sourced materials like hand-made Mexican Cotto tile, blackened timber and a dramatic hand-made Mexican stone vessel sink complement the minimal aesthetic. Alongside our selection of plush towels, the EGM offers Turkish towels and robes for lounging as well as sustainably sourced complimentary amenities like Agave Washcloths, cleansing make-up remover wipes, bamboo toothbrushes and bamboo paper products.
LOUNGE/EAT:
Designed with a speakeasy feel, the bar/living space allow our guests to unwind with a scratch cocktail or speciality drink in a soft-lit space after a long day of exploring the Sonoran Desert. Bonus: The bar also serves as a kitchen...minus the oven. Who needs an oven with a handful of independently-owned restaurants, bars and coffees houses just blocks away!
OUTDOOR LIVING:
The outdoor space was designed to be interactive in the sense that our guests can enjoy the space throughout the day,... even during the intense summer days. With two mature Date Palms towering above built-in benches, we have lounge chairs and tables that can easily be moved for al fresco dining any time of the day.

Other things to note
This well-known, iconic building with a rich history frequently attracts photographers, artists and tourists who stop to admire the building. It is not uncommon for a wedding or quinceanera photographer to be just outside our historic doors or to see a local artist pop-up an easel to paint. As property owners of an iconic building, we not only welcome but celebrate this atypical opportunity to interact and share with passersby and our community.
My husband and I currently live on-site with future phased-out plans to renovate the remaining historic building in-between reservations so we can offer additional short-term accommodations to larger groups.
Check back with us for future announcements about our progress!
