Newly refurbished room in a converted Icecream Factory, bang in the centre of York.
Its a few minutes walk from the railway station, right amongst the shops, bars, clubs and restaurants, in fact a short walk from most of York's attractions.
Your room is on the 1st floor with a king sized bed, wardrobe and comfy chair. On the same floor is a shared bathroom and livingroom. There is unlimited wifi.
Located within York city walls in a quiet street, our home was once a 1940's built Italian ice cream factory which we converted into a unique three-bed house. It's an interesting and spacious home, with a contemporary feel and we've tried to retain some of the special character of the original building.
We are 1.9 miles from York University, 1 mile from St Johns University, 1.5 miles to York Racecourse and only 10 minutes walk to York's Minster.
Fresh bed linen and towels are provided.
There is a secure garage on the ground floor, its £5 per day to hire but must be booked beforehand.
The Ice Cream Factory is an extremely cool (excuse the pun) place to spend a short stay in York. The location is incredibly central but not at all noisy..
the room is lovely; really comfy, quiet and a good size. Mike's flat is incredibly stylish; like a very hip independent cinema...
Mike is a very helpful and friendly host. He gave lots of good tips to us during our stay about where to eat/visit and is really comfortable having guests in his home - in fact you can tell he enjoys it - which is a good feeling! Highly recommended.
Great and quite location.
Mike was really welcoming, quick to respond and let me drop my bags off before check-in (which was really appreciated).
Arrived at the ice cream factory to Mike waiting to show me around. The room is big and bright, comfortable bed. Bathroom is shared with Mike, and is right outside the bedroom.
Handy information was left in the room with things to see and do around York, brilliant for those new to the city. The place is literally minutes from the heart of the city, the Minster, cafe's and museums.
Mike was easily available should I need anything, and he let me leave my baggage there on the day I left for a few hours until it was time to get my train home.
I strongly recommend this place and will certainly try and stay here again in the future.
Mike was smiling at the front door when I popped up in the street! You enter a cinematic world while you're steppin' in. The bedroom was really nice - great to have a desk and such light when you're traveling and want to work. A 'welcome' list/map with useful places: restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops... And everything you need in the kitchen to prepare from breakfast to late snacks. I'll come back for holidays and some 'open mic ' songs at the Fossgate Social. The place is ideally located, a few minutes by feet from the train station and the center of the town. A lovely stay, will definitely come back. Minster, Shambles, city walls... Thanks for such a nice stay!
nice room and its very convinent, just in the city center and walkable to those travel sites. thanks mike for the nice time.
Mike was a great host, easy to contact and most welcoming. We arrived before check-in time but were still shown to the room to leave our bags and were given some bar and restaurant recommendations. The room was very large with a comfortable bed and adequate space. On the ground floor there's a kitchen that can be used to make tea or coffee (which was provided) with milk in the fridge. The property is located just a short walk from the city center attractions. We would definitely recommend staying there!
Superbe appartement stylé au cœur de York, au calme et dans le centre.
Salle de bain et cuisine partagées très agréables et fonctionnelles.
Mike nous a gentiment attendus malgré notre arrivée tardive.

I've lived at the ice cream factory for 5 years, slowly getting the place into shape.
I'm relaxed and easy going. Pop in and say hi, or keep yourselves to yourselves, I don’t mind.
I am self employed and create websites, I use a downstairs room as an office so I'm available all day if you have a question.
