Portland's Richmond neighborhood balances the best of two worlds: Fabulous dining on Southeast Division Street (a "sizzling culinary corridor") and a livable, "leafy neighborhood" that boasts community gardens, bike lanes and movies in the park. Hawthone blvd offers eclectic shopping and dining and Mt Tabor park is minutes away for an invigorating walk.
You can be downtown in 15 minutes by car or bus. Street parking is free. Stops for lines 4, 14 and 71 are a short walk away. Using Trimet couldn't be easier. Trimet has great trip planner available on its website, and online tickets available for your smartphone.
Biking is a great way to get around. Lincoln Street, where the house is, was one of the first bicycle boulevards in Portland. Bikes are available for rental nearby (or try Spinlister) or we can loan you ours when they are not in use.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Rich and Serron. The house is located in a lively, fun part of SE PDX, and our diggs were incredibly comfortable. Also, Rich and Serron are incredibly warm and accommodating hosts. Altogether, our experience with Rich and Serron was an A+!
We enjoyed our stay here tremendously. Serron and Rich were kind enough to lend us a bike so we were both able to ride around the city, and gave us a ton of great recommendations for restaurants. They are very lovely people (Chad the dog is super cool too!) and made our stay both extra fun and relaxing.
My husband, two year old daughter and myself stayed at Rich and Serron's beautiful home and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Serron was away at the time, but Rich was a gracious host who was very warm and accommodating from the moment we parked in front of their house. He provided us with tons of helpful information about the neighborhood, especially our dining options in the area.
This charming neighborhood gives you a feel of what it might be like to be a local - a thoroughly wonderful experience you can't get from a downtown hotel. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable - as was the whole house. We were able to use the kitchen and common areas and felt at home the whole time. All in all we are very pleased, would definitely stay again and highly recommend staying with them. Our toddler daughter even ran and gave Rich a hug when we said goodbye.
Serron and Rich have a lovely home ideally located near Hawthorne Blvd, Stumptown Coffee and a number of food trucks. The house is lovely and calm with beautiful roses in the garden, and we were made to feel welcome.
We had a wonderful stay with Serron & Rich. They were generous hosts, but gave us privacy. When we arrived, they gave us a list of restaurants and activities within walking distance of their home. We ate at the Sapphire Hotel and Bollywood Theater, and both restaurants were delicious!
Serron and Rich were immediately gracious and hospitable. Their home is situated in a great neighborhood in a great section of Portland; only a short walk to some amazing restaurants and shops (check out the Woodsman Tavern for your cocktail and oyster fix).
They have a few guest spaces, but ours (a den room connected to a large closet converted into a bedroom) was located on the top floor across from a shared bathroom and our hosts' room; the shared bathroom was never an issue, nor was the proximity. Don't be afraid of the old, loud steps either.
All in all, a great spot for my girlfriend and I for the two days we were there. I would definitely return.
Rich and Serron were great hosts with a wonderful home in Southeast Portland. The neighborhood is quiet yet still very close to the lively sections of Hawthorne, Division and Belmont streets, plus within walking distance of Mt. Tabor park. Bus lines are very convenient, (phone number hidden) and 75 are all within walking distance.
I highly recommend it!

About the Host, Serron & Rich
I am a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist and love people and plants. I have a love of tending to our abundance of gardens with many medicinals and edibles. My husband is also a naturopathic physician and professor. He teaches and does research in natural medicine. He is a woodworker in his spare time and has masterfully restored our 1912 Craftsman home. We are foodies - frequenting the farmers market and cooking great tasting healthy food. We love the outdoors, traveling, music and DIG Southeast Portland in all that it offers in character and style.
