Carol was a wonderful host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Carol and Peadar. They are a lovely friendly couple and did everything to make us feel at home starting the the first pot of tea with home baked goodies. Everything was first class and we could have chatted to Carol for hours. Our room was lovely, the breakfasts just magnificent and the hospitality unbeatable. It was very hard to leave after our two nights.
We spent our last 3 nights in Ireland with Carol and Paeder at their lovely B&B, and we all thought we couldn't have had a better send-off. The home itself is lovely - well laid out, nicely kept, clean, spacious, welcoming. The garden is lovely as well, situated in the Ravensdale area.
Carol was a wonderful host. She offered tips and information about the area and travel tips as well. She provides cookery lessons (on request), which we took her up on, and had a great time! She went out of her way to provide the little things that make a stay excellent - freshly baked biscuits in our rooms, kettles, coffee, tea, a sitting room. It was truly a treat to be there, in the quiet of the country, with such affable people. I would recommend this place highly for those who enjoy good craic and warm company.
Carol was very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and really comfortable and she offered me some delicious homemade items she had baked.
I look forward to visiting again.
Visiting Ravensdale Guest House was a wonderful experience. It is located right between Dublin and Belfast (an hour drive to either one) and we enjoyed traveling to both. Carol and Peadar gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and were perfect hosts throughout our 4 night stay. We had requested dinner the first night and it was absolutely delicious, as were the amazing and very filling, homemade breakfasts each morning (Carol is an amazing cook). The rooms were lovely...very clean with luxurious bedding. The sitting room was very cozy (with coals heating in the fireplace in the evenings). My favorite part, though, was visiting with Carol and Peadar who were so much fun to talk to. They also had great recommendations of places to visit and eat (the Fitzpatricks pub was a hit). Overall a wonderful experience and very highly recommended!
