About this listing
Gerallt is a traditional stone (ex-)farmhouse in a beautiful setting - a haven of peace and tranquility. Very close to the River Teifi and within easy reach of both Ceredigion & Pembrokeshire Coast Paths and the unspoilt beaches of Cardigan Bay. Come and enjoy a delicious breakfast of locally sourced produce.
Gerallt is a wonderful, tranquil setting and to maintain and enjoy its special quality we are a tv free zone. There is a radio in the room and usually plenty of birdsong and the bubbling stream outside.
This is a lovely room, with windows looking out in two directions: one across the field which, in spring & summer usually has sheep & lambs to entertain you. The 'en-suite' has a shower, a small washbasin and wc.
We are very happy for guest to share this wonderful place with us. Guests have the use of the house sitting room and Conservatory (Breakfast is served in one of these or the dining room, depending on the weather and guest numbers.) Additionally guests can relax on the South-facing sun-terrace or explore the grounds, which are quite magical.
Interaction with Guests
Ruth and Lee greatly enjoy people and running a B&B. We get to meet with travellers from around the world. Our guests often tell us that they feel welcomed as though family, and well looked after. (But we don't do fuss!)
We believe we have the best of all worlds here in this part of the Teifi Valley: Gerallt is on the edge of a small hamlet which is itself on the edge of Llechryd village. Looking out from the house you could feel you were a long way from everywhere! Yet we are just a quarter-mile from the A484, only 4 miles from the lovely town of Cardigan and less than 20 mins drive from several of the beautiful beaches along Cardigan Bay (Poppit Sands, Aberporth, Tresaith & Penbryn). We are also convenient for guests attending weddings at Hammet House and Rhosygilwen.
We are just a quarter of a mile from the A484, and bus-route between Carmarthern and Aberystwyth, which passes through Newcastle Emlyn, Cenarth, Llechryd (Us), Cardigan, Aberearon, etc. Car touring does, though, give much more flexibility.
Other Things to Note
We try to live sustainably; we grow quite a bit of our own food (organically), we harvest rainwater for crops, recycle, have some solar collectors for hot water, etc. Food is organic/locally sourced as much as possible.
Tea & coffee making facilities are provided in the room, as is a hair-dryer.
Relaxed and considerate works nicely for us. (If you're not relaxed when you come, you almost certainly will be by the time you leave.) We ask you to bear in mind that you are an (honoured) guest in our home. Strictly no smoking in the house, but outside is okay. We are careful about pets and will only allow them in special circumstances by prior arrangement.
Me and my husband just returned from a 2 night stay at Gerallt B&B, we were there on business photographing a wedding at the local Fforest Site. The B&B is perfectly located if you are attending a wedding there or in a number of the other large wedding venues in the area.
The B&B is surrounded by woods and beautiful countryside so is perfect if you are looking to get away from busy life for a little while, and even though we were working the Saturday we were lucky enough to spend most of Friday evening at the B&B which was lovely and relaxing before our busy day ahead.
Ruth and Lee are a truly lovely couple, very friendly and more than happy to have a chat about the area or just general conversation. We spent much of Friday evening chatting with them in front of the log fire in the living room and probably could have continued well past midnight if we hadn't been working the next day! They put on a great breakfast spread (full cooked breakfast, toast and preserves, cereal, yogurt and grapefruit, plus tea, coffee and juice!) which was just what we needed to start our day.
We had the downstairs double bedroom, which was lovely and cosy, with an en-suite shower room, and a very comfortable and warm bed. Plus it meant we could come into the house in the wee small hours of Sunday morning after the wedding without waking anyone else! Ruth also very helpfully changed out the pillows for me due to my feather allergy, without any issues.
I would totally recommend staying with Lee and Ruth at Gerallt as they are great hosts and the location is idyllic. We will be returning again next year when we have another wedding booked in the area.
Full 5 stars for this fantastic place in Pembrokeshire.
Lee and Ruth made us feel very welcome. Very friendly, easy to chat with and know much about the local area.
Double room with ensuite spotless. After a long day out on the coastal path, it was a pleasant surprise that our room was nice and warm - exactly what we needed.
The breakfast spread is one of the best I've had at any BnB. There's nothing like a proper experience of the countryside with locally sourced meats, eggs for breakfast.
Location is stunning - plenty of walking paths, windy country roads.
Thanks Lee and Ruth for an incredible stay.
Perfect location, beautiful room, great host. The weather was perfect for outside breakfast, which made this stay even better. The host gave great advise for viewpoints in the area and we did see some dolphins there.

About the Host, Lee
I'm an easy-going guy who, having lived in and around London all my life eventually discovered West Wales. I now live here in this wonderful and beautiful place with my partner, Ruth. We run a B&B, grow a lot of our own food (organically), and are WWOOF hosts. My interests include health & wellbeing; I am a shiatsu practitioner and I teach qigong. I find that life just gets better and better the more I let go and relax. I believe most people who share time with me would say they felt better for it. (I don't claim to have special charisma, just a good attitude.)
I love food and whilst I l enjoy meat I eat mainly vegetarian food. I'm a non-smoker (stale smoke is one of the few things that gets to me!)
