Enjoy fresh air and a beautiful back yard!
Flowers, green grass, and a large back deck for lounging. Who needs to lift a finger?
Just 15 minutes from downtown on a quiet residential street with friendly neighbors. You will love your experience here.
Welcome to your beautiful and centrally located vacation home!
Avoid the crazy parking and noise of Portland and stay just over the border in our residential home. Any easy hop on the freeway to LL Bean, with beaches just 20 minutes away. Two groceries stores are within a mile and virtually any place in Portland is within 20 minutes. We have been told repeatedly by our guests that this vacation home finds itself in an ideal location for a Portland getaway.
You are perfect for this home if you are a discriminating out-of-town visitor looking for a getaway into Portland, a pair of couples traveling together who enjoy wine and relaxing on the back deck, or a young family with small kids who can't imagine hotel life at the rates they charge. In summer, Portland hotels are expensive! Stay here and avoid all the madness. We'll make sure your stay is easy, comfortable, convenient, and, most of all, relaxing.
Your favorite parts of the house will be the outrageously comfy beds, the sunny rooms, the awesome back deck for morning coffee and evening wine (and entertaining, if you have friends in the area), moderately spacious bathroom with quasi-rain shower head, shiny hardware floors, crown molding, and quiet residential street. You'll also enjoy the Ikea kitchen and bathroom, the teak dining room set, the Crate & Barrel living room couch, and for chilly summer nights, just flick on the gas fireplace and cuddle up. I have put a lot of thought into making this house feel like a home for our guests.
There are 3 bedrooms - 2 with comfy memory foam mattresses, and the 3rd with a comfy futon with egg crate. The 3rd bedroom with the futon is very small and would accommodate a teenager or two small children, but keep in mind that there is only 1 bathroom for you all to share.
We have provided every appliance you can think of. If you like to cook, you'll enjoy the kitchen and being able to cook dinner and watch the news at the same time; I had a 26' TV hooked up during the kitchen renos and love this detail.
Enjoy reliable WiFi and a 42' TV with basic TV in the sun room, which is a favorite room in the house. It's a cozy space to relax with family and friends.
The crème de la crème is the awesome lounge furniture on the back deck - seats 4 comfortably. And when you don't have your feet up lounging, you can be sprawled out on dining al fresco. If you like flowers, there is a full perennial garden out back with a cute bistro set. Whatever you choose, the air is fresh, and life is good!
You'll enjoy parking in the driveway and not having to worry about living in the city where street parking is no fun.
You'll love the neighborhood - it's so quiet and the neighbors are very friendly.
As for location, it's just 1/2 mile from the Portland border and two grocery stores. There is a Chipotle and a sushi bar just up the road.
Driving into town is easy - it's a straight shot. Just take one road into town with light traffic and you're there in 15 minutes, tops. There, you'll find Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
The airport and bus stations are also very close by. About 10 minutes, each, by taxi.
If I've left off any details, please let me know. We have many references (at least 31), as we rent out the house regularly. We are very much looking forward to your stay.

The neighborhood is the best!! Everyone is friendly, it's kid friendly, and there is lots of street parking. Only 1/2 mile from the Portland border, it's the best of suburban living.
The bus stop is just at the end of the street and takes you right into downtown Portland. Guests have reported that it's pretty easy, but having a car is definitely an asset if you're planning on doing a bunch of sightseeing.
Pets are considered - please inquire - for an extra fee. There is no smoking on the property.

Being this was my first time booking with AirBnb, I had my trepidations about booking a place for my family and I for the holidays. But to my relief, the home was exactly as advertised. Actually, the pictures don't do the place justice. Up to date kitchen, hardwood floods(which I love) and a bathroom that was dream come true. Located near just about everything you could need(supermarkets, retaurants, etc), we couldn't ask for a better spot. Our host was very accommodating, knowledgeable and laid-back. The process to rent and interactions with our host , were simple, quick and as stress-free as possible. My family and I were very comfortable and felt incredibly lucky to have found such a gem on AirBnb! Would definitely come again.
Chris and Mike were the perfect hosts. They went beyond the call of duty to ensure that we were comfortable and informed. As for the house, I can't say enough about it. We love Colonial style homes and all of the details within. The home is beautifully appointed, airy, spotless, spacious, and well lit. The location is perfect distance to downtown Portland and I-95. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad that we had to leave...
EXCELLENT! Exactly as described! Clean and well kept. Only spoke to Chris via phones, but she's very friendly and accommodating. Great base for a Portland visit.
What a delightful stay. The house was immaculate, everything was as described in the listing. The house was on a leafy, dead-end street - there was no through traffic and the neighborhood was lovely. We didn't get to meet Chris or Mike, but between emails and texts through Airbnb, any questions we had were answered and we were fully briefed on the house and it's contents. A wonderful experience
We had a wonderful experience in this cozy and stylish home. Chris was not with us during our stay, but she was extremely helpful with all of my questions, answering all my emails right away. She also left us goodies in the fridge which was very sweet of her! The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, and a pleasant 15 minute drive to downtown Portland. It is so worth staying here considering how high the prices can be in a hotel or B&B in the center. This home is spacious and neat and easy to feel comfortable in right away. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind taking the car to the center every day, which is a short drive. I will definitely be back here with family or with friends :)
Chris and Mike were wonderful hosts and made our experience very enjoyable. The listing description was very accurate and the location of their home was extremely convenient. They keep a very clean home and made sure to prepare all necessary arrangements prior to our arrival, which made our stay very easy.
I would recommend this listing to all airbnb users looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Maine!
Mike & I are both Mainahs! Mike is from Peaks Island and I'm from Cape Elizabeth, so living near the water is in our blood. Mike is a 3-generation woodworker turned private yacht captain and I'm a reformed chef, and we both love travel!
Mike is a father of two beautiful teenage girls, and I'm a lifelong bachelorette. Together, we have a great time dancing (how we met), singing karaoke, gardening, traveling, and cooking. We love to entertain and also to spend quiet evenings cuddled on the couch. Your comfort is important to us, and we live locally to assist you in making sure you are taking care of.
