The Space

Welcome to my beautiful home!

This home offers the best of both worlds: set in a quiet neighborhood in Westbrook, 1/2 mile from the Portland border and 15 minutes from downtown.

You'll love the clutter-free simplicity of my home and the quiet street I live in.

Lots of room out back to play, gardening to tend to, if you like, and a great big driveway for your car.

I have one cat.

I also want to put out a disclaimer that your bed is a futon with an egg crate. The reason I didn't list it as such is that many guests tell me that it's as comfy as a regular bed and have encouraged me to categorize the bed as such so that I don't miss out on bookings.

Guest Access

Guests have full house access, including kitchen and the lovely deck and back yard. I'd be happy to loan you my bike if you're a 5'4" female, too.

You can feel free to do your laundry while you're here, too.

Arrivals welcome to check in at 2PM, with checkout at noon.

No smoking, please.

Interaction with Guests

I'm always available by text, email or phone anytime you need me! If I'm around, I'd love to share a glass of wine with you.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is the best!! Everyone is friendly, it's kid friendly, and there is lots of street parking. Only 1/2 mile from the Portland border, it's the best of suburban living.

Getting around

The bus stop is just at the end of the street and takes you right into downtown Portland.

Check In
  • Chris (email hidden) and she has a beautiful home. We brought our 14-month old daughter with us and she was very accommodating. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Portland area... it is only a 15-minute drive to downtown Portland.

  • It is a peaceful and comfortable place. Everything was fit to (website hidden) , they are nice and kind. It is convenient and takes only 5 minutes to market and Pizza hut by car. Good to stay!

  • Chris was amazingly hospitable and her home was incredibly welcoming. It always smells so nice due to her cooking business. Also, the "futon" in the room was a real misnomer because it was so very comfortable. Would stay here again.

  • Chris' place was a lovely refurbished house in beautiful Maine. We had a wonderful one night stay, and wished we could have had the chance to talk more with Chris, have a glass of wine and get her unique perspective in beautiful Portland. If you have any issues with animals, make sure to get the low down on the cat.

  • I stayed at Chris' place during my week long visit to Maine. She (email hidden), friendly and accommodating -- I had access to everything in the house, parking in front of the house, and she even gave me a sample of her vegan cooking, which I must say is fantastic!

  • Awesome stay. Bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and fresh.

  • I had a great time staying with Chris, wish it'd been longer. She went out of her way to look after me and take me to my train, much appreciated. Her house is gorgeous and very comfortable and relaxing. Easy to get into central Portland with buses at the end of the street.

  • I had a lovely, but brief, stay in Portland and Chris' home was a perfect way to end a trip camping through Maine. Very clean and bright, with a sunny yard that I wish I had been able to enjoy. Fans of healthy, creative vegetarian cooking will want to make time to relax and enjoy the spread that Chris will leave for you. Chris was floating in and out of the house and available to answer questions but I never felt like I was intruding on her or vice versa; a perfect hostess!

  • A very nice 2 story bungalow in a quiet neighborhood. Nice, clean and uncluttered. I had to leave early in the morning, but Chris had an incredible breakfast (tofu scramble, homemade oat and fruit bars, and a green smoothie) ready to heat up waiting for me in the (email hidden) to stay for a "solo vegetarian" .

I'm a 39 year old former corporate slave, now a double business owner, and tenured vegan of 22 years. I can't live without oatmeal, automatic carwashes, flowers, my kitty, and tweezers. Favorite place I've lived? Paris. Gift to myself for my 40th? Trip to Berlin, Portugal, Spain, and maybe back to see the old Paris stomping grounds. I'm reading so many books about health and wellness: Overdiagnosed, Whole, The Pleasure Trap, and just finished Food over Medicine by Dr. Pam Popper. I love VegNews magazine at bedtime, and at 1PM, I take a break from it all and chill out with the Folks at The Chew. I can't escape it; my world revolves around food, health, and wellness! I just went out for my 4th run ever, and each were 5k's. That's right, going from a non runner to a runner just like that. No training. It's the diet, no other way to explain it. In my "spare" time, I love recipe experimentation and also learning to be a more knowledgeable entrepreneur. But I also have been following Neal Donald Walsh of Conversations with God and others like him recently, in my ever evolving progression toward self awareness and realization. What a trip this thing called life is, huh? My lovely boyfriend Mike lives with me and together, we keep a clean and tidy home. We are relaxed, quiet, and easy to live with. We get up around 6 in the morning, and are often times relaxing on the couch in the evenings, catching up from the day and enjoying a glass of wine together.
