We welcome you at Cosy Top Tree Jungle Apartment, PURA VIDA.
Thierry's place is absolutely breathtaking...your surrounded by all the beautiful nature! You can watch all three types of monkeys while sitting on the porch. And the sounds of the bugs and animals at dusk were amazing, at night it sounded like the jungle came alive..truly amazing. The apartment was gorgeous and very accommodating. Everything was as it was advertised. I enjoyed my stay very much. Thank you for everything Thierry!! I will see you again soon!!!!
We enjoyed staying here very much. We had a monkey show everyday, we took a hike around the grounds. Loved the sounds of the jungle. Bus service was just across the street, came every 15 minutes. You do not need a car. Quepos is a wonferful little town, lots to see, many resturants. We went fishing, caught and released many sailfish. We were not used to the humidty, that was the only bad thing, we come from very dry climate. You will love it here.
My husband and I spent 7 nights at Cosy Top Tree Jungle Apartment. It was exactly as described. The main bedroom has a king sized bed, newly renovated bathroom with great rain head shower that is wonderfully hot after a day at the beach, and it also has a well equipped kitchen. We made banana, papaya, mango smoothies everyday with the blender. We thoroughly enjoyed the jungle sounds all around us and our sightings of squirrel monkeys, larger white faced monkeys, toucans, butterflies, deer and frogs. Quepos, which has some great restaurants, is just a short taxi ride away and we never had to wait long for one to come by. Pali, the grocery store is on the edge of town where you can stock up on supplies, and cook yourselves dinner if you so like. The bus to Manual Antonio Park and beaches leaves every 15 minutes from the main station in town and is only 315 colones (about 65 cents). Thierry was a great host and he went above and beyond to make our stay most comfortable. I would highly recommend Cosy Top Tree Jungle Apartment!
il est venu m'accueillir au bas de la vile, ensuite nous a communiquer des adresses de soda ou une ceviche exellente nous à conquis
il a été toujours disponible aimable, durant notre séjour nous a conseillé et indiqué des petites plages tranquilles
Thierry was a great host - he picked me up when I arrived - with a quick tour of the town - and dropped me off when I left. The apartment is wonderful- imported furniture, and windows everywhere, with your own private wrap around patio. There are excellent trails on his property, or very close by, where I saw chestnut mandibled toucans, fiery-billed Aracari, a poison dart frog, capuchin and spider monkeys, morpho butterflies, and various birds. But best of all, in the tree beside my patio, a sloth hung out, ate, repositioned himself... I got to watch his daily activities. I saw more wildlife while staying at Thierry's than I've seen anywhere, including on tours! If you do feel the need to leave the apartment for any reason, the bus or a collectivos is very close, and frequent. Do yourself a favor, and book Thierry's apartment.
My girlfriend and I planned a trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and this was the first place we stayed. We were at the apartment for a week, which was a perfect amount of time for us.
The apartment is amazing. The pictures really don't do justice to the fact that you are right in the trees. We were able to see monkeys right from the balcony on two separate occassions.
Although it was only two of us, the apartment is big enough to accomodate more -- we only used one of the two bedrooms.
The apartment is located a bit outside of Quepos, which was a good thing for us. Initially we thought it might be inconvenient, but it was very easy to find rides down to the town. We rarely had to wait more than a minute or two on the road before we were able to get a collective taxi, which cost us just $1 per person. Being up in the jungle, away from the town made for quiet, relaxing nights, and more chances to observe the animals and nature.
As far as the amenities go, the apartment was very good. We had hot water and electricity for our entire week stay, and the wi-fi worked 6 out of the 7 days we were there, which we were happy with. There is a full size fridge and two burner stove, as well as a microwave oven, so we were able to do some cooking.
Thierry was great as well. He was able to pick us up from San Jose for less than the price of a shuttle, and for our first night, Thierry took us around Quepos and showed us some restaurants and places, and took us to a grocery store so we could stock up for the week.
Getting to Manuel Antonio and Playa Espadilla was easy as well. A taxi ride into Quepos was just a few minutes, and then a bus to Manuel Antonio took about fifteen minutes. The collective taxi was $1 per person and the bus was 60 cents a person, so round trip, it was only about $3 per person.
Because the apartment is a bit outside Quepos, it is dark at night, but Thierry provided us with a flashlight attached to our keys, which made the walk from the road up to his apartment feel safer. Overall, we felt very safe at the apartment.
Unless you feel the need to stay right in Quepos or Manuel Antonio, I think that Thierry's apartment is a perfect way to see Costa Rica. Skipping the tourist traps in Manuel Antonio and spending time in Quepos and on our balcony was a great introduction to CR for us.
