Eleftheria was a perfect host, she was warm, welcoming and extremely helpful, she is the most comitted host I've ever met at airbnb. Her lovely appartment is full of character, with a bohemian touch, and above all it has those breathtaking views of the Acropolis, probably best views from all over the city. The area is safe, nice, right in the city center with lots of touristic spots and nice local bar and restaurant areas within 5 minutes walking. Eleftheria is a nice, young, independent and travelled person, so her appartment will be perfect for people like her. If you are a light traveller or prefer luxury, maybe this is not for you. But if you love staying at a friend's house, where everything might not be in brand new perfect shape but beautiful and in nice working condition, Eleftheria is just the perfect place in Athens. We loved staying and Elftheria's and meeting her! Thanks for making us have a perfect Christmas in Athens :)
Eleftheria's flat is in fact the best place imaginable to stay in Athens. First, it has a breathtaking view of the city, panoramic windows and wonderful roof-terrace with a hammock. Second, it's very cosy and relaxing. And last but not least, we were charmed by Eleftheria's hospitality: she was mostly kind and considered and provided us with really useful information about Athens. When we return to Athens we will definitely stay here.
We really enjoyed staying here and Eleftheria was an excellent host. She was helpful before and during our stay. We contacted her when we arrived (even though it was late) and from there it was easy to find the apartment. The apartment was cosy and had incredible views of the Acropolis. We had everything we needed and felt really at home for the duration of our stay. The information displayed was all accurate and useful. Eleftheria recommended restaurants for us to go to which was great, we ate very well. The Psirri area where the apartment is situated in has a shabby shuck vibe with lots of funky bars and restaurants nearby which we loved. There was also the Gazi area which was only a short walk away making this a nice place for young people to go out and enjoy the nighttime scene. We liked it and hope you do too!
thank you for your good words. I am so sorry for being forgetful and missed the chance to leave a review for you. Next time you are using airbnb pls ask me to write a rec letter for you as a totally recommended guest. Its been a real pleasure to host you. Please, accept my apologies.
The place was perfect for me. It was small with a huge view. Eleftheria was very accommodating and gave me some great tips for exploring the city. The apartment was easy to find (her directions were perfect) and it had everything I needed. The area was incredibly central for shopping, eating, sightseeing and a night on the town.
I would stay here again, and I would recommend this place to a single traveller or a couple. It made my stay in athens very enjoyable!
Great apartment, fairly reflected in the photos. Remember this is Greece -- this is a compact apartment that can comfortably hold two people in one bed and one person on the sofa in the living room. Nice little kitchen, and a compact bathroom. The view of the Acropolis is spectacular. Psirri is a lively neighborhood, especially Friday and Saturday nights. This might bother light sleepers. Easy walk to lots of restaurants.
My wife and I needed a place to stay in Athens for 2 days during our honeymoon, between our stay in Santorini and traveling to Istanbul. It is our first time to use Airbnb, and we were really excited about the photos of Eleftheria's property. The view looked amazing and the place looked clean and organized.
When we arrived, Eleftheria met us, gave us the keys and showed us the place quickly. She seemed very friendly and offered to help us with getting around in Athens and asked us to get back to her whenever we needed anything. We were disappointed though upon arrival, since the place was quite smaller than what we expected from the photos, yet it did have the fabulous view we wanted. Also it was kinda unorganized and full of random stuff (probably Eleftheria's old clothes and stuff) in all storage places, which forced us to use our luggage as our own storage units :)
The place needed better lighting which gave us a hard time at night, and on contrary in the morning the curtains were almost useless in blocking the sunlight, which made the place more bright than one would need. The bathroom was very small and again full of Eleftheria's stuff :)
Nevertheless, we felt that Eleftheria was keen on making us comfortable, and she offered us mosquito repellent oil to use if this was a problem for us.
To sum it all up, the place is more suitable for backpackers looking for a place to crash at for a few nights, with great views of the city, but was definitely a wrong choice for us as a stop on our honeymoon.
I am so sorry you are disappointed! Fortunately the photos of my apt are by an airbnb certified photographer and the apt's square meters are noted on the airbnb listing, so there is no trick here... Maybe it was a wrong choice for your honeymoon stay, maybe you were looking for something luxurious and hotel like facilities -as you admit you are airbnb firstimers. I respect your opinion, ..."unorganized"..., "suitable for backpackers"..., "no lighting"..., but me and almost every previous guest would definitely disagree! Congratulations on your wedding again!
Eleftheria made us feel very welcome. The flat is small but perfectly formed. It was fine for the two of us for a few days. Amazing views right across Athens and the Acropolis. Also a lovely private sun terrace on which to have a drink and read a good book. Its also got good working air con if the temperature is a bit too much.
At the very top of a 6 storey building in a quiet corner of the Psiri neighbourhood, the location was central - about 10 mins walk from two metro stations, with many good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. A good quiet place from which to explore the whole city. Its not a swanky up-scale apartment, and the bathroom is really little, but that's very common in this part of the world.
I liked the space - has a comfy settee, working wifi, and a fridge for beer! Eleftheria also supplied good coffee - thank you.
