About this listing
We love to share our bush home and our simple healthy lifestyle, and show people the good things Tasmania has to offer. We live in a stone and timber house on 55 acres of Wildlife Reserve, yet only 7 klm from Deloraine.
We are only 7 minutes up a country road from Deloraine, and central to the north of Tasmania with both Launceston and Devonport 45 minutes away. Deloraine is a beautiful town, and the gateway to the Great Lakes (30 mins) for good trout fishing and bushwalking. Cradle Mountain is a 1 hour 45 minutes country drive from here.
The guest room is warm and light, north facing with French doors to outside, next to a country kitchen. You are welcome to use the kitchen or barbecue to cook meals yourself. We have a three person Far Infrared sauna available for a small fee, towels for sauna and shower (or hot bath) are supplied.
We love a good conversation, we love people. (BlackMilk Sharkies are welcome) But we also respect people's need for privacy, and the need to relax and enjoy the quiet. We also offer alternative health therapies - detox Far Infrared saunas, healthy eating programs/weight loss, and Therapeutic Essential Oil massages. We offer one free 45 minute oils massage (Aromatouch Technique, $50 value) for bookings of 2 or more nights - very relaxing.
We are 'alternative' in our lifestyle, so we don't have a microwave or a dishwasher, and are fairly down to earth and natural. We do love our uncomplicated life here, and love to share what we have with our guests - and do enjoy hearing their stories and ideas on life in return.
This whole area has a great community spirit, with a large population of artists and craft people living locally. Deloraine is a lovely place to spend some time, but is not far to Cradle Mountain and the Marakoopa Caves or other day trips. There are lots of short day walks in the area and interesting places to visit.
This is also a chemical free household, suitable for those with allergies or chemical sensitivities etc; we drink and shower in Tasmanian rainwater (no fluoride or chlorine) and use no chemicals to clean, and our food is mainly organic local produce. We hope you will come and enjoy our simple 'down to Earth' lifestyle.
As we are not smokers ourselves we don't want to inconvenience smokers, so we prefer to be 'smoke free'. We are ok with pets, we have plenty of space for them to run. Pets are family too.
