The Space

Old Bend meets new Bend in this spacious, newly constructed second level studio apartment in a century old neighborhood in NW Bend. The beautifully appointed room has private access and includes a well accessorized kitchen, comfortable furnishings, a queen size bed, and bathroom.
You will be welcomed with a special gift from a local vendor upon your arrival to compliment what we know will be a memorable stay in Bend. As comfortable as we know you’ll be in the studio, you must get out and experience all Bend has to offer. Hiking, fishing, golf, lakes, rivers, Mt. Bachelor, beautiful sightseeing and many more activities are within a 30 minute drive.
We think you’ll enjoy your stay without getting in your car at all. Within 3 blocks you can visit one of the favorite local brew pubs, the best pizza place in town, our favorite bakery and several other eateries. Beautiful downtown Bend is a 15 minute walk, or, a short bike ride on bikes we provide. Experience locally owned restaurants, bars, breweries, unique boutique shops, coffee roasters, bakeries, Drake park and more.
This century old neighborhood which was home to many mill workers in the past has become a rejuvenated and vibrant area for a new generation. Many of the old houses continue to be remodeled and, at the same time, retain the old neighborhood feel.

  • Pam and Al's place was better than described! Everything was new and very clean. Location was great. We didn't access the bikes that were available for us to use but I would recommend that to future renters. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bend and would stay again here. Perfect rental for a couple.

  • Perfect location for a Bend get-away! Near downtown and within walking distance all the great breweries and restaurants. Room was spacious and clean with everything one would need. Only downside was that Bend was very hot (90*) during our stay and therefore the room, which is above a garage, was also very hot, even with the ceiling and stand fans both going at full speed. But regardless, we would definitely stay with Al and Pam again!

Thanks for your feedback. We have been contemplating on getting an air conditioner but had hoped the fans would make a difference. Glad you liked the privacy. Hope to see you again! - Pam

  • We had a fabulous stay in Bend and the best part was the quiet, clean, spacious studio we stayed in! Great location, walking/biking distance to many destinations. We hope to be back next year!

  • Once again, the perfect location for our visit to Bend. Close to everything, wonderful space, friendly hosts. Al even approached me at a local watering hole and offered to buy me a beer - thanks, Al!

Sadly, this is our last trip to Bend for a while. If we do come back, though, we know where we'll be staying!

  • Unbelievably cozy and wonderful! We had a blast there, and coming "home" was truly part of the experience. Will do it again in a heart beat when we visit Bend another time. Pam and Al have really done a great job of providing for their guests; from before we ever even set foot on the property, too!

  • My fiance' & I absolutely loved our stay in Bend at Al & Pam's place. The mother-in-law was perfect, comfortable & had everything we needed during our stay. The location is close to everything you need & is within walking or biking distance to some really great restaurants, breweries & parks. Al & Pam even provide access to two bikes which was a very nice touch. They were very quick to respond with any questions we had. On the day of our checkout, Pam even offered to let us stay a little past checkout if needed due to a power outage in the area. That was very thoughtful & appreciated! We would highly recommend booking here! :)

  • The place was very nicely appointed, close to a shopping and dining area nearby, and relatively close to the main downtown areas It was a perfect base for our exploration of the Bend area. The apartment is above a garage that is in use. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood (if you're a light sleeper like us, it should be noted that you will hear trains going by, although this is true for most of Bend and not due to the apartment's location). The kitchen was adequately outfitted, although it has no oven. Al and Pam provided a welcoming and comfortable place for our vacation and even left us a growler as a gift to take to the many outstanding breweries in Bend.

  • Al & Pam were gracious hosts.

They left us a gift upon our arrival. The apartment was very clean and in a great location. The bikes they let you borrow are well maintained and are clutch!

We are planning on coming up again in September and we will definitely stay here again!

  • We met the hosts briefly when we arrived. First Al and then Pam later on. Pam was very helpful in providing information about close by restaurants and venues that were within walking distance. The apartment is separate from their house over the garage and is very nicely appointed. I really felt at home in this space. It was ample for my husband and I. Everything is up to date. The location is in the NW part of Bend, which is quite nice. There are plenty of eateries within a couple of blocks and it is a short walk over the river and around the park to the main part of town. The Old Mill District is a bit farther out, but can be walked or biked if you are in good shape. There was some confusion at check in, due to the fact that previous tenants had erased some information regarding wireless sign on, etc. Al had left a message about this, but I did not pick it up until we were gone. He made the effort. I would stay here again. We loved Bend and we loved this little apartment.

Thanks Ellen for your feedback. I will check out the water heater. Unfortunately we can't do anything about the stove. We do turn the pilot light off during the warm months so that alleviates it turning on an off through the night. I am so glad you had a great time! Bend is such an inviting place and we would love to have you come and visit again!

  • I wish we had more time in Bend! The apartment was perfect for us. We walked or biked almost everywhere. The location was fantastic. Our hosts were great and the apartment was spacious and accommodating.

About
We love Bend! It's like being on vacation all year round. As a result, we haven't done much traveling. We still like to experience the different restaurants & breweries here. It seems that Bend has a big event going on almost weekly, which we usually partake. Would like to play more golf, but my summer job as owner of a sustainable lawn maintenance service keeps me pretty busy. In the winter I'm at Mt. Bachelor, mostly working, but do hit the slopes on occasion. Pam is the Executive Director for CASA of Central Oregon. This is a non-profit that advocates for children in foster care. Pam is passionate about children and youth. Before she started working for CASA she was an educator. In her spare time she enjoys running and golf. Her absolute favorite past time is reading cookbooks and entertaining family and friends.
