  • An awesome find at this price. We had a great experience here. Communication with Pamela was quick. The location is fantastic. The house is older and nothing fancy but it is clean and comfortable. I wish I had known about this place years ago. I will absolutely stay again.

  • Great house for a good price. Fantastic location... Walk to beach, shops, restaurants. Host was friendly and super quick to respond. Would definitely stay again and also recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Traverse City.

  • Communication with host: quick and kind
Location of property: as described, super convenient.
Cleanliness of property: we were contacted by the owner and told it's now available for our check-in and the door would be open, it was all down hill from there. we arrived, opened the door and actually thought we were in the wrong house, unfortunately we were not. we were met by a strong musty odor throughout the home, dirty throw rugs, filthy floors and surface with crumbs on them, DIRTY LAUNDRY on the kitchen floor, sitting laundry in the open laundry machine, full trash cans, dirty bathroom - sink, toilet and shower were a mess, they were even kind enough to leave dirty used bar soap for us! The shower has pink mold growing in it as well.

    This was weeks/months of neglect.

I communicated with Pam several times and alerted her to the fact we'd be travelling with a (1) and (3) year old - she had a few opportunities to share with us that her property is not fit for kids, not fit for anyone really.

I did contact Pam to alert her to the matters at hand, she simply apologized and offered no other course of action.

Please steer clear of this home until it receives a DEEP clean and a plan is made to keep this property up to livable standards.

  • The house was in a GREAT location and could easily fit 9 people. Great place to stay for a fun weekend away!

  • Prior to arriving we called to confirm our reservation, however the host was unaware as to who we were. Approximately an hour later she called again to ask at which property of hers we were staying, which concerned us. The property itself was also not necessarily as presented. The photos on the website aren't quite realistic and although clean, the property is old and inside was not real well lit. The bed we slept in was comfortable and the location was great. This is the perfect setting for young adults or college kids who need an inexpensive, well-located place to crash/hang. Plan to bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, and coffee supplies (there is a coffee maker).

  • Pamela was very responsive and available quickly by phone. She was kind and gracious. We really enjoyed the home! Everything was very clean and tidy. It had so many windows for good breezes, fresh air, and great natural light. It's very spacious and the master bed was really comfortable. Perfectly located for walking to all our favorite eateries on Front Street downtown and to the water. Across the street from Burrits, Chef's In, Traverse City Pie Company, Mary's Kitchen Port, Lil' Bo's, North Peak, and a few blocks to the delicious Bay Bread Company, and the list goes on! There is even a CVS on the corner just around the block for last minute needs.

  • We were 4 people and stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing but also a short walk from restaurants and two blocks from the bay. Pamela checked in to make sure we were doing ok and was very helpful in telling us about the area. Would stay here again.

  • Pros: The house was in ok condition and in a perfect location. Great price for 4 bdrms. Plenty of space for 6-8 people.

Cons: I was disappointed, the owner, Pamela was not very responsive. I would suggest to call/e-mail her way ahead of time about details. I called and emailed one week prior, also called on my way there and she did not respond. She did not specify where to pick up/leave keys, where to put used towels and sheets so it was a little unorganized but all worked out.

    Response from Pamela:

Yes, I was indeed distracted when my friends daughter committed suicide and this listing seemed to be covered to me. I did not realize it slipped through the cracks, I can understand Courtney's disappointment. I must say, for the price, there should not have been a complaint. I would not welcome this guest back, even though my review said I would.

Traverse City has been a great place for me to pioneer natural approaches to health and wellness, since 1978. I raised my boys in this very neighborhood, and grew up at Higgins Lake, only an hour away. For the past 23 years, I have played out my passion through massage therapy.
