The space
Welcome to Stigen Fjordlodge – a peaceful hillside retreat with panoramic views of the Hardangerfjord.

The lodge is set on a former small farm with roots going back to the early 1900s. Once home to livestock, the last permanent residents left in the 1990s. Today, the farmhouse has been renovated and modernized, offering a rare opportunity to stay in a truly unique setting, surrounded by untouched nature and close to some of Hardanger’s most iconic attractions.

You’ll arrive by car all the way to the farmyard. Just before arrival, you’ll need to open a gate (there may be free-roaming animals outside of the property), then park near the barn and walk up to the main house. The property is enclosed by fields and forest.

On the grounds, you’ll find a private outdoor jacuzzi with breathtaking views – and perhaps Norway’s most scenic swing, hanging from a large oak tree behind the house. You’re also welcome to borrow hammocks stored in the hallway; we highly recommend finding a quiet spot in the oak grove overlooking the fjord.

A marked trail leads you through a gate below the house and down to the fjord. The walk takes about 10-15 minutes and ends at a small boathouse, a rocky beach, and sun-warmed cliffs perfect for swimming and relaxing. Fishing rods are available to borrow, stored in the boathouse.

Inside the barn, there’s a room for outdoor furniture cushions and a charcoal grill available for use. The property has strong Wi-Fi both indoors and outside.
