Other Things to Note
Our cat Sophie is very sweet though also shy. Especially in the beginning, you wouldn't see her much. But when you, like us, love cats and be patient, she will come to you.
We would appreciate it when you take care of her. She is fed twice a day with 25 grams of catfood and fresh water.
What we would really appreciate is if her cat-toilets are cleaned several times a week, especially when you stay longer than one week!
Be clean and tidy like you are at home, we have a dishwasher for everyday dishes. But we advice you to wait untill it's completely filled before you run it. This saves the environment, we have enough plates, cups, cutlery and pans.
Be nice to our cat, don't let the front door open for her, or let the windows in the kitchen, bedroom and living room wide open (she once jumped out and felt 2 stories down) and don't remove the net on our balcony.
As we are both not smoking, we don't allow smoking in the apartment. If you would like to smoke, you can either smoke on the balcony or the gallery.
From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2015 the minimum stay is 4 nights.
We were met by Erik and Pauline who were extremely welcoming. They went over the flat with us and told us about all the local amenities. The apartment is very nice - well equipped and light and bright. The location is fantastic: nice restaurant and supermarket over the road and an easy cycle into the centre of Amersfoort on Erik and Pauline's bikes. This is also a great part of Holland to explore - the Kroller-Muller Museum is one of the best galleries we have been to.
Thank you for your feedback Paul, I agree on the Kroller-Muller Museum, which is located in a great national parc, did you enjoyed that as well?
Sorry about the food that gone off in the fridge, that shouldn't be there. We will take more care of that the next time.
Nice to read you liked our place.
Our hosts were delightful to meet and very helpful. They pointed out a little shopping square just a few steps away that also had a great Italian restaurant. Their apartment was very spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the BBC news channels on their TV. Location made it very easy to take a train to Amsterdam for the day. Parking was not a problem. We were very comfortable in this apartment.
Overall Erik and Pauline are amazing hosts. They went out of the way to pick us up from the train station and drive us to their apartment, they gave an in depth tour of their home and left the rest to us. Their apartment is stunning, great views all round, great location in Amersfoort, the apartment building is right on many bus stops to the main center of the town but walking is about 20mins to get their anyway. They gave us free use of their bicycles which had very cute cow boxes on the front, and there are some lovely parks to cycle in if you get the chance to stay here. Great Turkish and pizza restaurants, chemist and supermarket just a 3 minute walk away. The cat Sophie was adorable and charmed us both. I highly recommend this home and these hosts if anyone has plans to stay in Amersfoort.
