Marianna was great, and the setting is very nice. Camping with shared access to a full kitchen and bathroom is a nice plus. The kitchen and bathroom are not inside another dwelling, so it is not intrusive to use.
Heard lots of birds around the yard. Great horned owls were hooting at night and red-shouldered hawks were calling by day.
This is a good place if you need an inexpensive place to stay and explore the surrounding area. The "campground" is only about 10 minutes to urban amenities, but doesn't feel like it.
This was a really great experience. Marianna allowed my girlfriend and I to camp last minute and was very quick to respond to our request. She was great at communicating and very nice to work with. The property is beautiful and Marianna is wonderful!
We planned a last minute overnight camp stay at Marianna's property on New Year's eve. Marianna was very prompt with her replies, and gave us detailed directions to the exact camping spot. She also warned us about the cold wave during the night (which in retrospect we should have paid greater heed to).
Marianna's property is a great place to camp overnight, nestled in the woods, and very tranquil. The downtown area, the beach, Safeway and nice restaurants are all a close drive away. There is also a nice shared kitchen and bath, which is a real blessing. Marianna was there to greet us when we arrived, showed us around the property and also allowed us to have a little bonfire to keep ourselves warm at night.
Just a little warning for the not-so-frequent campers - check the weather status and be adequately prepared if it will be cold at night!
Just a note to perspective campers: Normally we do not allow any open flames because the fire danger is too high, so please don't count on that! It had recently rained when Neeraj came so we were able to make an exception. Normally we cannot. And it was very very unusually cold when Neeraj was here!
If you're looking for the experience of sleeping in a tent with all the comforts of home, this is the spot for you. Marianna was a very kind and gracious host and wonderful to interact with.
We were warmly welcomed by Marianna and given a quick tour of the amenities that she offers on her property. The view from our spot was amazing and we enjoyed being able to sit outside our tent on a warm evening and enjoy the tail end of the sunset. We do have a larger then then most as we enjoy being able to spread out and found the site to be rather small, but our tent did fit with just a few tweaks.
We found the bathroom to be very clean and easy to get to from our spot and the free WI-FI was a welcome treat as well. We would not hesitate to come back here when we find ourselves in the Santa Cruz/Soquel area.
Thank you Andy. If you, or anyone else for that matter, would let me know in advance that you have a vey large tent, I would put you in our camping spot on the other side which I think is wider than the spot you were on. But I am glad that you fit!!!! We also have space farther away from the bathroom and kitchen that easily will accommodate a large tent!
Marianna is super sweet and accommodating. She was so kind and helpful with directions and places to eat, etc. Its is a beautiful property and unique location. My only recommendation would be to bring heavy duty ear plugs. Maybe it was an isolated incident but we had a couple of drunk people stay up most of the night in a cabin ( about 30 feet from our site). It was very loud and we couldn't sleep until early morning. It was very loud and the walls to the cabin seem very thin. So experience this beautiful place but make sure to bring your finest earplugs ( Just in case )
Hi Carlos, I am sorry to hear about the disturbance. This is unusual and I will look into. If you know exactly where the noise was coming from, please let me know. It is usually extremely quiet here. I am so sorry. Perhaps I will leave some earplugs in the bathroom just in case! Although I hope that this will not happen again! Marianna
