Interaction with Guests
We work mainly from home, so we are around quite a bit. We love to help guests find interesting corners of the city. We have helped past guests plan their trips throughout Mexico or other areas where we have experience.
We live very close to Chapalita (near Plaza del Sol) and are a 10-15 minute walk from good cafes, bakeries, ice creams, tea shops, restaurants, gift shops, neighborhood parks, etc.
From Plaza del Sol you can get a bus to almost anywhere. We have a bus guide in the house and guests are free to use it. We also provide guests with a map to use while they stay with us.
Other Things to Note

Our stay was good. Della and her husband were very friendly and super helpful. Their kid is the cutest!
Our stay with Della, Adolfo and their son Alejo was fantastic! Though it was only for one night, they made us feel very welcome and right at home. They had great suggestions of places to visit and delicious food to try. They live in a very green and quiet part of the city and it was easy to get downtown. I would highly recommend staying with them to anyone!
Della, Adolfo, Alejo and Echo the Cat are the best. They are gracious hosts with much to share. I had a wonderful stay with them and was provided with excellent guidance on places to go. They are both also intellectuals with great stories and a wonderful library. They also know the university scene and are familiar with local activities off the beaten track. Their location is also quite central to any convenience you may need and a short bus ride to the historic downtown. I'd highly recommend a stay at their accommodations.
Della and her husband were very kind and nice, they were very helpful and supplied us with lots of great tips. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location was very nice. Very recommended!
Della and Adolfo have been absolutely amazing. Great company and fantastic conversation as well as endless advice and suggestions and general help! Their place was lovely, very clean and well located. They were kind enough to make us delicious quesadillas our first night there and then shared pancakes with us another morning!
Moreover, they went out of their way to organise a Siete Leguas tequila distillery tour for us, which was one of the best experiences we had in Mexico so far! We're very very grateful to them and highly recommend staying with them.
We had a great stay here! Della and Adolfo were awesome hosts. We had a super early flight into the city and Della let us come in early and sleep on the couch until our room was free and ready for us. Our room and bathroom was clean and neat and we felt comfortable and welcome right away. They even invited us to join them for a home-cooked lunch our first day there, which was very yummy! They are very knowledgable about the food scene and will recommend worth while places to check out. We also really appreciate the time they took to give us detailed suggestions on our upcoming trip to México City. :)
I'm an expat living and working in Guadalajara, Mexico. I'm a foodie (dislike the word, but perhaps it's better than 'food snob') and a small-time gardener.
I teach at a local university and my husband is an architect. We have a cultural center (CCAU) which promotes architectural and urban culture. We will happily point you toward the interesting aspects of our city - architectural, food related, or other.
