Other Things to Note
It is possible to pre-book an evening meal -inquire at time of booking.
The thatched cottage is strictly non smoking. Breakfast is available between 8 and 11am to meet your needs. Check out is strictly 12am and check in strictly post 6pm.
The cottage is well situated to explore the surrounding countryside as well as Galway city (highly recommended!!! Do one of the walking tours!!!). Breakfast can be ordered as you like - cold, hot, cereal, bread, fruit. Nothing to complain here! However, there are some minor issues due to (my?) misunderstanding of the advertisement, explaining my 3-star-rating. Before you book, make sure and ask Caroline about which bedroom/bathroom setting you are getting - obviously there are combinations where you have to switch floors which is not too nice. Also, internet connection right now is available only in public areas - no chance to plan your next day relaxing in your private room. And there is a dog living in the house. which is not mentioned in the advertisement. But with an updated description and some technical upgrades these should be no major issues in the future! Nice family, nice area, nice house - just keep the things mentioned above in mind before booking!
Caroline was very warm and helpful. She even made us tea and a served us some of her homemade pie after we came in late. Our first airbnb experience.
We didn't have the opportunity to meet Caroline since she was off but we met her friendly and welcoming family with whom it was nice to chat. When we arrived, the room was very clean and everything necessary was available, including some cookies, cakes and coffee. The breakfast was also good and generous. Thanks for everything.
My stay with Caroline was short, but sweet. She's a lovely person and so is her home, which also is full of history. The area itself also looked beautiful, my only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer.
Caroline really went out of her way to be a good host. Picked me up from Cleargalway, I got sick during my stay so she drove me to the Hospital (poor her! ( :)
The house is fantastic! Really old, atmospheric, extremly well decorated and beautiful rooms...wish all the BnB s in Irealnd looked like hers and cost that Price! ( :
She also makes fantastic breakfast! Absolute bargain...
