Interaction with Guests
I will be sensitive to your needs for privacy or available for questions and lively discussions. It is your vacation and your choice! As your host I can recommend local eateries, wineries, or services in McMinnville or Carlton. Complimentary wine tasting for two is available at local venues.
Willis Road Wayside is located just 7 miles/15 minutes west of McMinnville at 900 feet elevation. We are at the top of a ridge, looking south at the coast range, and the Alpaca farm located below the property. You will go to sleep to the sound of crickets and awake to the singing of birds.
Personal transportation is a must to arrive at your lodging. I strongly encourage you to notify me of your approximate arrival time AND call before leaving town. A lost guest is not a happy guest! So call at the first sign of confusion. I will meet you and lead you to my home. It has been done before!
Other Things to Note
Breakfast can be taken in the great room or on the deck, weather permitting. Fresh brewed Starbucks coffee or tea starts your day, followed by your choice of cereal and milk, fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche and warm local bakery goods.
Pets are welcome and easily accommodated with a large back yard. Please monitor and manage your pets closely being respectful should other guests be lodging here, as well. Smoking is allowed outside.
Beautiful space tucked up in the clouds on a hillside.
Danna was extremely hospitable and took great care of us. Hope to stay again in the future!
We were at Danna's house only briefly, but wished we could stay. The house is impeccable, the view is amazing, and her breakfast and hospitality unmatched. The house is off the beaten track, so you really feel like you are in another world. Next time I would love to stay a day or two longer!
Danna made my husband & I feel very welcomed. It was a haven for us while in McMinnville on business. Quiet, and off the beaten path. We really didn't mind the extra time it took to drive into town. The view from the sitting room was absolutely beautiful, even with the rain coming down it felt very cozy. AT & T service was spotty, as was internet service mainly with the rain, but we managed. We would stay again given the opportunity. Breakfasts were wonderful too! Icing on the cake so to speak.
We had a lovely time. Danna was very welcoming and friendly. Her property is beautiful. It's a short drive into Mcminnville which is a very fun town to hang out in. Also, breakfast was great and there is a fun little cat who hung out with us while we lounged in the back yard.
Lovely home, peaceful park-like surroundings and terrific host who is fun, informative, caring, well organized and a wonderful cook.
Great place! We felt very welcome and Danna is a wonderful host. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside just watching the Alpacas during the day and the stars at night. The breakfast was farm fresh too!
Danna's place was perfect for our trip to wine country. The views from the house are really spectacular and Danna was a great host. We hope to be back again sometime!

I am a retired teacher who still enjoys taking on various jobs with the local school district to stay up to date in the field. I recently moved back to my home in the foothills of the coast range, having learned that I am not cut out for city life. Since I love the Oregon country so much, I decided to share my paradise with other travelers.
I recently traveled through India for nine weeks and Australia for five weeks spending much of my time in home stays or B&B's. It allowed me to see a side of the life and culture that otherwise remains hidden to most vacationers who stay on the beaten path. I could be as public or private as I wanted in each situation, but still had access to the local point of view and insights. Please know that I will be sensitive to your needs whether it be quiet, alone time or questions and answers about the local culture, sights and events.
My long term passions include horseback riding (since I was four), boating, reading and traveling. Recently, I have fallen in love with scuba diving which has led me to some interesting places.
I look forward to hosting you in my home and making your trip as pleasant as possible while discovering the beautiful sights of Oregon's Cascade Range, the Willamette Valley Wine Country, and the magnificent coastal beaches and viewpoints.
